The Flower Of War

The Flower Of War
Chapter 67: Wrong Strategy

The troops passed through a fairly sloping mountain path even though it was bordering a ravine to get to Qiu Wang soon.

The leader formation will rotate suddenly five times along the journey with the war drums as a signal to avoid enemies who could have been lurking Yiu, as he is the general and the core leader of the army.

The stinging sunlight perched overhead, the wind that blew even became a hot breeze in the sauna. Yiu turned the horse around while wiping the sweat with the tip of his battle robe unconsciously.

He muttered, "It's been summer apparently, my whole skin feels very burnt."

Suddenly a hand was perched on his shoulder while holding a paper umbrella.

Yiu immediately turned his head and found Wu Xiao fanning himself while covering for the two.

Not too long ago Yiu wanted to spray that inappropriate action, Wu Xiao seemed to have guessed his thoughts by immediately bringing the painting fan closer in front of his face.

Cool.

"I just feel like it's too hot, how cold, right? We can take turns fanning, I'll hold the umbrella."

"Wu Xiao's! We're in a public space! Hey hold your horse's rope, what if it gets out of control?!"

Wu Xiao looked unconcerned and continued to look ahead.

"This horse can walk on its own, take it easy."

Then his face came closer and whispered slightly to Yiu's ear, "Hmm, why? Besides I have good intentions of protecting the General from overheating."

Yiu put aside the aching feeling on his shoulders as a result of holding Wu Xiao's hand, on the contrary his entire body almost goosebumps hearing the soft whispering sound hit the delicate earlobe.

Yiu reflexively threw away face with face ignited by fire, it made Wu Xiao's seductive instincts bloom even more. Smirk and the feisty bead on his face were very clearly drawn.

Still in a soft whisper, "General, is something bothering you?"

Yiu who was still fighting with himself reflexively replied as he threw Wu Xiao's hand on his shoulder violently, "Well, and that's you! Why don't you bother your beloved daughter that's all? It sucks!"

Wu Xiao's brows furrowed together with the sound of "Hmm?". He was silent for a while though his hands slowly turned back on Yiu, digesting something, his face was enthusiastic again.

"General, are you*beverage vinegar?"

*China Idiom Of The Day*

Drink vinegar ( ⁇ )\= Jealousy

⁇ (agento) means vinegar, because vinegar tastes sour, vinegar, this term refers to the expression when someone eats something sour so his face becomes acidic like when he sees him with another even though in front of him a smile while saying, "Cieee".

Yiu immediately brushed aside impassively, "Where is it possible?! I'm telling you not to bother me shit!"

Wu Xiao only nodded slightly as he raised his eyebrows, causing Yiu to become even more provoked, "Don't make such an expression! Don't bother me!"

Wu Xiao slightly moved away. "Alright, at least I know you're jealous."

"I don't!"

Still with his smile. He spoke in a slightly heavy deep voice, "It's nice to know you're jealous. Remember well, that's how I felt when I saw you with a man other than myself, Liying."

The drums of war reverberated quickly in harmony with Yiu's heart thump. His face instantly reddened and his body nailed, his manic focused straight widened.

Wu Xiao suddenly complained, "Well it's time to part, but don't be sad. You might be able to run away from him, but he'll find you and make you fall into it."

Before Yiu could respond, Wu Xiao had already put a paper umbrella in Yiu's grasp and pulled the reins of his horse away.

The arrival of long-range special forces to the existing headquarters in Qiu Wang is a sign that the war is getting closer.

Residents of the capital have all been evacuated to various places to avoid civilian casualties.

A few days later a small camp was set up for the concentration of exercises outside the gates. These four kingdoms did not appear to show the slightest seriousness.

That day, Yiu and several large army generals gathered in the shade of a black tent with a very hot air that was not comparable to their spirit.

"Attacks from one direction in my opinion are quite effective because that's where power is centered. How's it?"

"I feel this strategy is not appropriate, General Chu."

"But before we devise the latest attacking strategy, wouldn't it be better if we also thought about the guarding of this fortress? Especially after the reserve army departs we really have no strength left."

Yiu furrowed his brows as he rubbed his sweaty palms. "I think it makes sense too."

Meeting a little gray, they found no way to overcome the fortress. Yiu was currently sitting on a large rock by the river close to the central camp, his manic as if speaking to a star.

The sound of the grass crashing raised the alert signal. Yiu immediately touched the silver dagger lodged on his waist. "Who?!"

A white shadow approached slowly. The shadow became clearer and a beautiful girl as bright as the moonlight and as graceful as a lotus flower, Princess Ming Linghua.

Yiu lowered his hands from the waist before returning to a relaxed manner. "What was the urgent matter that brought Princess Ming Lihua here?"

He smiled before replying, "It's not something important. Oh yeah, I promised you something, didn't I?"

"really?" Ming Lihua clapped and immediately pulled Yiu's hand towards a resting tent.

In the middle there was already a lion statue that made Yiu furrow his brows.

"Princess wants to show the sculpture?" Yiu's question instantly got a spell from the princess.

"I've been researching this project for almost half my life. Then I managed to finish it thanks to your help, Princess Ying. Thank you." Thank you."

Yiu was increasingly dizzy by her, she hesitated in answering, "Ah I don't understand."

Ming Lihua only chuckled as she walked up to one of the lion head statues on the table.

"This is an earlobe of an automatic weapon I made. To see it we need to go back inside the fort" he said with a widening smile.

"So,..The reason why I was brought here is?"

"Ah yes, because I want to ask permission for you to modify your explosive weapon, Princess."

Simultaneously, Ming Lihua took out a bag of iron balls the size of marbles and put some in her hands.

"This is a weapon that will slide out of this statue automatically when the rope is released. The lion head will be installed in the upper corner of the wall behind which is hidden an automatic mechanism so that we do not have to worry if a room is not guarded. To activate this mechanism, we only need to install a floor beam that is thought to be potentially exposed to the footing and connected by a rope that is on the sidelines of the wall and attacks someone with a boom!"

Yiu had reprimanded himself for forgetting the tradition of his own ancestors before a while back to thinking for a moment. "That's very nice, Princess. I didn't think you'd be the inventor of the ne- .... But, the explosive charge from my bomb is strong enough to potentially cause even a stone wall to collapse. Moreover, if behind it there is a mechanism that makes the original foundation of the stone decrease."

If it is true that in the past this discovery was actually discovered by a woman, then it should have been her who should have been the star in this history. However, Yiu was once again astonished to never find a single article about his life history. Perhaps the result of the lack of information that can be obtained by archaeologists.

"If the name of the inventor of the first mechanism is not written in history, it means that even my name that lived in the same period of time will also not be written in history?! Huh, what a pity. I have to make a will for someone to search my history articles later on the internet!" yiu muttered softly.

On the other hand, Princess Ming Lihua lowered her shoulders listlessly hearing Yiu say to her. Yiu replied with a smile, "What if you replace it with an arrow? It's pretty deadly and won't have much effect on the side of the wall."

"You are indeed the best sister-in-law, Princess Ying!!!" he said as he hugged Yiu who was having a heart attack tightly.

Since that day, for three whole days almost without rest, he, Yiu and Princess Lihua conducted research and experiments on the mechanism weapon and Yiu also made new breakthroughs by updating his explosive weapons to be smaller and also tried to imitate the simple workings of the mine bomb used during World War II.

Innovation continued to be developed and increasingly involved Yiu's first brother to refine the perception of explosive power.

That day, a test-finding mechanism installed inside the dungeon was finally completed.

Yiu took the time to visit Hai Ran who looked thin and dirty in the corner of the dungeon. His shabby clothes increasingly united himself with the darkness.

He was standing right in front of Hai Ran who was anchored to an ice-cold iron bars. Staring at him for a long time with a flat face.

His aura emanated a strong dominance of his power. It was as if trying to intimidate the animal in front of him with that eye-piercing flat gaze.

The downcast Hai Ran began to slowly raise his face, returning Yiu's cold gaze. They kept quiet for a long time before Yiu finally opened his voice.

"May you still patiently wait for your owner to sit down with you here. I'll try harder."

The speech instantly got a small sigh from the man in front of him. The iron flanged trembling hand was slowly pointed straight at Yiu as if challenging him.

"I'm looking forward to that. It's just that maybe later we'll switch positions here, trust me."

Hai Ran then laughed so hard that his echo buzzed everywhere. Yiu clenched his palms behind his back.

Yiu then smiled warmly as she slowly stepped away from Hai Ran's place.

"We'll see how likely your delusion will be, Hai Ran."

"Good luck, Princess! Don't be surprised to find out our true strength hahaha!"

Preparation is near perfect in less than 10 days. Nearly half of the troops were already sent to the border complete with some new weapons belonging to Yiu that would certainly protect them during the journey.

After letting the fifth division go towards the border, Yiu still flinch from his place on the balcony facing right towards the gate.

His tired face from not sleeping for days looked meaninglessly at the stars.

Suddenly something touched both of his shoulders which of course made Yiu reflex turn his head.

"Thus it's our turn to leave, take a break from now on, Liying."

Yiu still did not have the mood to start a fight with the crazy man beside her, he was too tired for that. He also did not refuse the robe that was wrapped around his shoulders, Yiu even more made the robe tightly embrace his body.

"Are you tired? The dark circles in your eyes are terrible, you know?"

Yiu sighed. "Well, I don't care."

"You gotta take care of your health, you idiot. If you suddenly fall ill, it will affect the performance of our soldiers. There won't be anyone closest to you taking care of the sickly ones later on the battlefield, you stubborn bastard!"

After saying that, Wu Xiao immediately rushed away leaving Yiu who was still confused.

Yiu tried to ignore his very disrespectful words, though it kept ringing in his head.

His hands rest on the guardrail on the balcony. His head bowed lethargic, he frowned trying to eliminate the dizziness that suddenly attacked him.

He was anxious until it had a considerable impact on his rest cycle. Hai Ran's speech that day made her even more nervous.

Need Yiu to admit, while he was still at Bai Qing, too many realities surprised him. Their lowly soldiers alone were already highly trained, so how could the surprise from Bai Qing's hidden army be?

A gentle poking fragrance on Yiu's nose made her open her eyes. A small glass full of steam stretched out on him.

"If you are still reckless to force the body, at least clear your mind, stubborn girl."

Yiu did not understand the reason why Wu Xiao kept saying rudely to him.

His face would turn ugly if Yiu did not take tea from him.

Yiu drank it in one gulp after blowing several times. A warm and very comfortable feeling surrounded his throat.

He looked back at the stars, refusing to face Wu Xiao who was also sipping his tea. Both of them were silent at night without moonlight.

Suddenly, Yiu felt an overwhelming dizziness strike his head, worse than the previous one. He staggered a little, his grip on the balcony railing weakened. Wu Xiao who saw it reflexively held both shoulders.

The dizziness grew stronger as the pressure of his eyes closed and in an instant Yiu's body leaned completely against Wu Xiao's chest.

Wu Xiao looked calm while holding Yiu back from escaping from his embrace.

His rough hands slowly brushed off Yiu's hair which covered her beautiful face while asleep then pinched the small cheeks that looked like that of a bakpao.

"I'm sorry I had to do this, Liying. I don't want my beautiful angel to fall ill, you can punish me whatever it is later after you've had enough rest .... You've worked so hard, Bobai."

Wu Xiao then carried her towards Yiu's room by walking very slowly and trying to relax. It was as if Yiu who was sleeping quietly in his chest was about to wake up and go berserk.

His emerald green bead seemed to be made of magnetism, he could not let go of his gaze on the beautiful figure who was sleeping peacefully in his arms, if time could freeze for a moment. He did not want this rare moment to pass by.

Wu Xiao returned to his straight mind, he was lucky that Yiu was now fast asleep so that he could not hear the pounding of his heart and the strange smile that was engraved clearly on his face.

His slow steps were definitely stepped bathed in the dim light of torches in the corners of the passageway towards the dahlia pavilion.

"Your Majesty, just a message from the western border arrived and inside said if Bai Qing forces attacked their camp and managed to take over our camp.

"They attacked from the west?! How come?! We concentrated almost the entire army in the east. Quickly gather the troops and move!"

"Okay, Your Majesty."
