The Flower Of War

The Flower Of War
Chapter 53: A Step Closer

In the depths of the cold and desolate forest, two people walked down the forest path in their simple, shabby robes covering almost their entire face and body while carrying a simple, twisted bag on their shoulders.

One of the tallest of the two looks back several times, spreading his gaze across the forest as if looking for something while the other continues to walk down with incantation steps.

Walking through the cold snow forest did not make his second step waver, shortly after it was seen a train coming from a distance towards the two.

The train stopped right in front of them. The carriage driver immediately took the stairs and placed them near the carriage before rushing over to the woman.

"Your Majesty, please."

The woman was Yiu who managed to get out of the capital thanks to Xu Gui's idea and also the diversion from Wu Xiao made Yiu easily exit the capital heading north without arousing suspicion from Liu Yu's ....

At least so far ....

Yiu walked towards the horse carriage and entered it with Xu Lan.

Warm, was the feeling he felt after entering that not-so-broad carriage.

Today somehow feels so cold even though it has walked full of energy through this white forest and makes his entire face red with cold.

The carriage swayed lightly, Yiu leaned against the wall of the carriage to rest her body. He closed the tapered bead and said to Xu Lan, "I want to rest for a while, please wake me up if you are tired. We'll be on guard for a turn."

Xu Lan stared at Yiu's tired face for a while, after which she took off her thick robe. "Daughter, use this so you don't get hypothermia. The weather is so cold, it is very dangerous if you fall asleep in such cold temperatures."

Yiu raised a small eyelid towards Xu Lan's outstretched hand before returning to close her eyes without interest. "I'm not cold, you just wear it."

Xu Lan did not seem to want to give up but seeing Yiu's attitude like this she had no other choice, she pulled her hand and sat back in a huff.

Not long after, Xu Lan who was playing her feet bored accidentally kicked something hard and empty.

He put his feet away and looked down at the place where he was sitting and saw a large, sturdy wooden box. Xu Lan took it and opened it, inside was a blanket and two sets of thick clothes complete with a fur coat.

Xu Lan happily immediately called Yiu a few times but.

"Daughter? You're asleep already?"

There's no answer.

Xu Lan sighed and then carefully put on the thickest blanket for Yiu.

Suddenly, the wind blew in through the gap of the blown curtains and hitting Yiu's peaceful face, the peaceful face shriveled slightly.

Xu Lan immediately moved to sit right at the window to squeeze the curtain and block the outside wind from directly entering the carriage.

It was almost dark, the carriage that Yiu had boarded had already entered the village which was in the middle of this long snow-covered forest.

Xu Lan opened the carriage door and spoke to the carriage coachman, "It's already going to be dark better to immediately find a place to warm yourself up and rest."

The coachman nodded and immediately drove his horse towards the small inn in the center of the village. Coinciding with that, Yiu had already woken up from her sleep and looked at the surroundings that were already completely dark.

He descended from his carriage in a slight daze looking for the whereabouts of Xu Lan who disappeared all of a sudden.

Yiu saw a faint yellow light from within a simple house that looked more like an inn. He immediately walked into the inn.

At the same time Xu Lan had just stepped away from the reception desk and was about to come out with the intention of waking Yiu up.

He looked surprised when he saw Yiu already standing at the entrance doorway and immediately exclaimed, "You're up? I've booked a room and intend to wake you up."

Yiu nodded and an innkeeper immediately guided them towards a small creaking wooden hand as they stepped.

A spicy dinner is served on a small table in the middle of the room. Yiu sat down with interest looking at the dishes that were all his favorite food while the messenger coachmen Wu Xiao and Xu Lan stood in the doorway just in case.

"Why is there so much food?"

Xu Lan, "The prince said you should eat a lot of food and heat so as not to get tired on the way."

Yiu shook his head slowly and was silent for a moment.

"You sit. Eat together." The voice shocked the two and doubtfully they sat together and shared a meal.

Yiu said as he lifted his chopsticks, "Where are we?"

The coachman replied, "Instead of Your Majesty, we are now in Baotou Village, close to the border of Qiu Wang. Four more days if the weather supports us will arrive at the LiYui State belonging to the Feng family."

"What about him?"

"Prince take a slightly dangerous detour but it's likely they'll be faster by a day or two than we are without any need to be careful." Yiu nodded lightly and immediately went back to eating his food.

The next morning, the snow fell softly like fallen leaves in autumn. Yiu had already continued on his way towards the border of the country.

Along the border line were rows of border guard soldiers and a group of people lined up. Thanks to careful preparation, Yiu managed to escape with a fake identity and after four days of traveling overland they reached Liyui Feng State in the southern province.

Yiu stood in a huff under the sizable frozen mangnolia tree, waiting for the arrival of someone as they promised to meet.

"Daughter, how about you wait at the diner across the street? You haven't filled your stomach all day. I'm afraid something's happened to you."

Yiu turned his head to look at Xu Lan, circulating the gaze several times along the deserted streets. He tightened his fur robe and nodded while sighing.

He got into the car, to be honest he was not very resistant to cold air. His face was flushed, his body slightly shivering. He grabbed the jade pendant from his arm pocket, looked at it for a moment meaningfully before re-inserting it.

It was late at night, Yiu spent the night in an inn. Today was the third day he arrived in this city as they promised.

For a moment Yiu hesitated whether Wu Xiao did not keep his promise? Does he have other plans? Was he also trying to throw it away to another country and do something else beyond his knowledge?

No! ... Yes! ... Yea? Is he really that?

Yiu's head throbbed in pain, he finally decided to put an end to all his bad thoughts and immediately drove into the sleep realm.

Next day.

Yiu again walked towards the frozen magnolia tree not far from the inn that Yiu occupied.

Tired of waiting like a fool, Yiu finally decided to walk down the crowded small town silently.

The steps are light in rhythm with a light blowing of snow which strangely does not dampen the spirit of the locals to meet the main streets.

"Surge! Watch out! This horse is out of control!"

The streets are rough.

The crowd soon split and the street was now clear in the middle leaving only horses running uncontrollably dragging carts with one sitting on it trying to control the horse.

The coachman shouted, "Now step aside! Watch out! Move over!!"

Not far in front of him, a child stood in the middle of the street and was busy playing with toys in his hands. Heeded the screams of the people beside him telling him to step off the road.

The road was too wide so people still thought twice about risking their lives and ran to save the poor boy.

Seeing that, Yiu spontaneously ran after the wagon, stomping the merchant's wooden table around as the start of the jump and jumping landed on the right side of the man on the wagon.

Yiu snatched the bridle from the man and deftly took two moves and pulled the reins back until the horse finally lifted its two rough front legs and stopped silent a few feet before crashing into the child, like he had never run amok before.

Yiu breathed a sigh of relief in his heart. The man next to Yiu immediately said, "Miss, thank you very much! Thank you thank you."

Yiu smiled faintly then held onto the middle-aged man's shoulder. "No need to thank me. I'm just doing what I can do, that's all."

The hysterically shouting audience watched the thumping scene a few seconds ago turn violent with a flood of praise and applause.

"Good! It's great! Young lady is so talented!"

"That lady is so brave! It's very commendable!"

Then the mother of the child emerged from the crowd and immediately ran to hug and hold her child full of worry before approaching Yiu.

"My lady owes you her life for saving my son. I was too careless to lose track and did not know my son was in danger. Thank you, Miss."

The woman prostrated herself in the street while hugging her child. Yiu spontaneously came down and approached the mother and woke her up immediately.

Along with that small vibration vibrating the street gravel, the vibration was increasingly felt and seen three horses running fast and then stopped beside the cart.

The one who was riding it was wearing a golden robe and his face was a little familiar to Yiu.

The crowd came back boisterous with subtle whispers.

The golden-robed young man came down and approached the three. Spread a glance for a moment and then ask, "You guys are okay? Is anyone hurt?"

Yiu turned to look at the dashing young man who was approaching, his eyes instantly smashed. He ....

Crown Prince Liyui Feng, Feng Pei.

The mother replied, "My son is good, thankfully there is this generous woman who saved my son's life, Prince."

Prince Feng Pei's attention turned towards Yiu, he fell silent. Both silent.

Yiu stared fixedly at Prince Feng Pei's bead, trying to signal not to spread his identity and would give an explanation about today.

The bead is low, "Miss, thank you for saving my people. In return for Miss's bravery, I specifically invited you to the Hong Residence to give a special gift to Miss."

Yiu sighed. He ran the game, Yiu bowed and his voice hoarse, "Thank you for the Prince's generosity."

Prince Feng Pei paved the way to raise Yiu up on the horse saddle. Before Yiu left with them, he turned around and stroked the mane of the horse that had just gone berserk.

Then he got a conclusion. "His breathing is fast, his muscles tighten and tremble, his pupils dilate. It's a mild poisoning symptom and makes it uncontrollable," Yiu looked at the middle-aged man standing beside his wagon and continued, "But this was still curable. Go immediately to find the animal healer and he will be saved."

Yiu's analysis immediately embraced the man. "I understand, once again thank you, Miss."

Afterwards Yiu headed for the horse prepared for him and rushed towards the Hong Residence.

Arriving there, Yiu was guided to enter the central hall where private guests were entertained.

"I'm very surprised to have a special guest today. Haven't seen how you doing, Princess Wang Ying Mei? What purpose are you here for?"

Yiu lowered his gaze, "I'm sorry for sneaking into your country but .. I'm looking for my two brothers."

Prince Feng Pei, who had turned his back on Yiu, now turned his back while raising one eyebrow, "Your two brothers are missing? How could? Ah is it because of the power takeover issue?"

Yiu nodded and continued, "I felt strange about what was going on in the west, not expecting my guess to be true."

Yiu tightly grasped his clothes. "He's sneaky! Trapping me to be status bound with him then helping him expand his power but the milk is covered in tubal water!"

There was no need to explain who "He was", everyone fell silent, contemplating understanding. Yiu tried to temper his emotions to stay calm with all his might.

"I'm sorry about all this. Liyui Feng country will definitely help as much as we can. Now, you must be tired. Let's take a break. I'll prepare a room for you and by chance I'll be back in the morning to the capital so you can meet my father to look for the two princes."

Yiu was flabbergasted, he had already almost given up on the situation and got help unexpectedly spontaneously he bowed in thanks, "Thank you, Prince."

"What are you doing?! Comeup! This is too much. Now you rest and prepare to leave tomorrow."

Yiu wanted to prevent but had no power so he bowed back a little.

"Can we wait a few more days?"

"Hey beggar! Don't sit in front of my shop! You're blocking the good energy from coming in!"

"Mrs Boss, we want to buy your bread and rest here for a while."

"Beggars like you may have enough money! Not a lot of reasons! Go quickly!"

The young man exchanged looks. "Let's go" said one of the young men who looked pale.

The other boy wanted to refuse. However, he cannot. Finally he carried the weak body and continued walking.

"As soon as they get to the tree, they'll have to wait a long time."

Bruk ...

"Prince!!"

"Gege!!"

"Xu Bai?"
