The Flower Of War

The Flower Of War
Chapter 44: The Pain

Guo SanGong, the head of the Institute of Inquiry, emerged from the crowd of officials and said while taking out samples of flower seeds, bottles filled with honey and paper bearing the transaction of flowers.

"Everything, after the Institute of Inquiry made observations and saw the chronology we speculated that, His late Imperial Majesty Liu Xun died after drinking a honey tea flavored with wisteria flowers. After we further investigated the ingredients of the tea, we were suspicious of the content contained in the flowers and sugar of the tea."

Yiu fidgeted in silence, his head constantly shaking, trying to deny the accusations.

The whole hall boisterous before Guo SanGong again made a sound, "After the Poison Division investigated, we found evidence of poison from the wisteria flower which turned out to be no ordinary ornamental plant, the seeds contained poison. All parts of the plant contain saponins called wisterin. The substance is toxic and if ingested, can cause dizziness, confusion, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea and the worst of fainting, nausea, and vomiting, if mixed with a mixture of poisonous honey that can only be obtained from the western region precisely on the northern mountain of QiuWang, it can cause death in a short time. Then we tried to search each room and we found evidence of the transaction of buying wisteria flowers and honey bees of the northern mountain in your room, Princess."

About 6 soldiers immediately restrained Yiu's body and dragged him forcibly out of the hall.

Yiu, who still did not understand how he could be accused of murdering Emperor Liu Xun, tried to revolt and shouted at Emperor Liu Yu.

"What the fuck is this, Your Majesty! I am not guilty! Release him! I swear I didn't do it! I didn't do anything! I'm being slandered, Your Majesty!"

Emperor Liu Yu sighed and voiced a little low, "All the evidence is very clear, Princess, you should be sentenced to be beheaded. However, considering your service in this war I will ease your punishment, I am now an emperor, I cannot rule out evil for personal matters. I can't help much. ... I hereby sentence Crown Princess Wang YingMei to 20 years in prison, 100 lashes and will be imprisoned in the deepest cell in the Sky Prison."

Yiu was still trying to rebel, shouting all words of rebuttal on the charges against him. However, as if deaf, Emperor Liu Yu did not even stare towards Yiu at all. His face was complicated.

His voice slowly began to muffle as it grew further away from the palace hall. Himself defamed! He himself had never even thought about it at all, Yiu dared to swear to it!

News this afternoon quickly spread to the nobles and wealthy families all over the Capital but it seemed to be heavily guarded so that the news would not leak out of the Capital and civil society.

Yiu was already placed in a dark, cold and extremely dirty cell. The cell is large enough if it is filled with only one person, the walls and floor were made of cold stone blocks with a straw-floated wooden bed in the corner of the room to sleep on and in the middle of the room was a small chair table with a brightly lit candle on it.

Beside the table was a wooden rope wrapped around the mine that was thought to be used for torture, and sure enough after Yiu entered both hands tied hugging the wood that stood firm.

Yiu wanted to rebel but the wound on his left hand opened again because of his movements earlier in the hall so that it made him unable to move much to rebel and could only resign.

Plus the lash made by the soldier increased the width of his wound and also caused injuries all over his back.

Night had arrived, Yiu was sitting in the corner of the cell. His hands were tied, his hair was disheveled, his body limp bore wounds that were only salted in small containers and only enough for one flat polish, plus he was not fed all day!

That night he spent thinking that he was being vilified and how he could be accused of doing things that even he himself could never have imagined.

He could only hope that Liu Yu was just being lied to and would immediately get him out of this cell. Yiu was sure Liu Yu would not be that cruel to him. He will wait.

A week had passed, his wounds had closed on their own even though without further treatment, his body grew weaker. Yiu was given a ration of food once a day that was just a roasted yam.

If only now Yiu was on a survival mission he would definitely have enough manpower to stand up just by eating yams. However, the context is now different, he is severely injured and needs enough food and medicine to recover.

What the hell is going on? Is Liu Yu deliberately slandering me? No, that's impossible! Then, who would dare to malignly slander me like this? Why didn't Liu Yu release me immediately?

A moment after that there were footsteps from a distance, Yiu glanced at the outside of the cell.

A tall, well-built shadow walks alone in the dark alley of the cell with only a few torches on the right side as illumination.

The man was wearing a gold silk garment with a black outer robe patterned with a dragon embroidered with gold thread, black boots and all the hair that was carried on the head.

Who else would dress so fancy like that if not an Emperor.

Emperor Liu Yu came alone with no one with him, his countenance flat with firm eyebrows that gave the impression of sharp glare and dimples printed on his face.

Yiu said softly, "Liu Yu?! I know you will set me free. You believe I'm innocent, I didn't do it all. You believe me, don't you?"

Emperor Liu Yu still silently said nothing, his face looking a little scary under the dim light of the torch.

"I believe it wasn't you who did this, A-Ying. I believe," he approached a step, "Because the one who did this is ... is me."

Yiu's initially warmed heart now broke like a rain of knives leading to him. Somebody please hit him and tell him all this is just a dream. This whole thing must be a dream!

"What?! Wh-how is that possible?! Why ... Liu Yu's! Why did you set me up! You Beast!"

Emperor Liu Yu chuckled for a moment before returning to his voice, "I didn't set you up at all, I just used that stupidity of yours, A-Ying."

So all this time I've been lied to by the beast? All this time he's been playing? What a shameless thing!

"It's not my fault, A-Ying. It's all your fault and your very proud eldest brother. You and your family are also too stupid haha."

Emperor Liu Yu laughed again, this time his laughter was louder and scarier than before. "Yes, I've planned all this. How could I marry a woman! I can get tens of thousands of women if I want.

Yiu was burning with emotion, his face darkened and he roared and chided the beast named Liu Yu with the rest of his strength. Trying to stand up and walk in a drag, trying to get close to him and kill him.

However, now that he was inside the cell so that he could not get close to Liu Yu who was a few feet away from the cell, making Yiu unable to reach his sturdy body as hard as he tried.

"You want to know a secret, A-Ying? I proposed to you so that you could help me win the southern region so as to gain the old Emperor's trust and also kill my brothers who wanted to overthrow me like dead animals. I threatened General Hai if he didn't kill Mo JiHan then his entire family would pay for it."

Liu Yu was silent for a moment then chuckled. "As you know, I planned the deaths of my three brothers because I put my spies among the LingJian Warriors. Thanks to your help and your troops I was able to win over the south without needing to deploy my reserve troops who were in hidden military camps and my position was unshakable. Thank you." Thank you."

This shameless beast still knows how to thank you?

Yiu's hands clenched tightly in the cold cell's iron bars, "You! You are not human you are a beast!"

"I? I am, of course, the Great Central and Southern Region Sovereign. His Majesty Emperor Liu Yu and I will rule the world under my wings!"

Yiu's breathing was panting with pain all over his body. But now his heart is a thousand times more painful. "So you killed your father too?"

Emperor Liu Yu took a step forward, his head lowered towards Yiu and said softly, "Of course, that stupid man deserves to die."

Yiu's body sank downward and eventually fell to the floor, his head looking up at Liu Yu. The highlight of his sharp killing eyes filled with a hateful aura emanated clearly on his pale face.

Liu Yu was not afraid in the slightest, his face instead increasingly displayed a hideous smile with clearly sculpted dimples.

"I came to your place not only to propose to you, but also to buy the poison and the plant in your name. Wh why? You surprised now? You want to kill me? You better end your life and prepare for your family's arrival in hell."

Hearing that Yiu instantly understood the direction of Emperor Liu Yu's conversation. His hands immediately tried to reach Liu Yu's feet, but his movements lost quickly.

"Basic Beast! Don't touch my family!"

Emperor Liu Yu squatted in alignment with Yiu. "The choice is in your hands. If you want to save your family you have to endure daily torments but if you are not strong you can kill yourself and right then and there I will send my troops to attack QiuWang, hows it? Good idea, isn't it?"

Yiu's body was too weak, his mind was already too chaotic at the moment. He can't think straight. "Alright, I'm willing .. ta-but don't touch my family."

Emperor Liu Yu further developed his sneaky smile and said, "I'm not."

After that, Liu Yu stroked Yiu's head which was already leaning limply against the cell wall and then left.

"That's my new A-Ying."

After Liu Yu's departure, Yiu's tears were unstoppable. His tears slid down like an unstoppable river, he roared and cursed endlessly. His hand hit the wooden bars until it bled. His heart hurts. It hurt too much like a rain of nails bombarding itself endlessly.

"Basic Traitor! Fucking demons! There is no heart! Why ... Liu Yu, why? What's my fault with you? Why would you do this to me? Even after ... all this you can betray me. Why Liu Yu, why?..arghhhhhhh why Liu Yu! Though .. when I-I already trust you. I have given my heart to you! Goddamnit! This time I will kill you, burn you alive, cut your body into the smallest pieces and hang your head on the Capital gate! Liu Yu! .. wait for my revenge! I will definitely take revenge!"

Yiu shouted loudly before his body was completely limp and lying on the cell floor. Yiu fainted!

Before his consciousness completely disappeared, Yiu said a barely audible gibberish, his voice too small.

"Help me."

Elsewhere, Prince Wu Xiao woke up in his sleep with cold sweat all over his body and gasping for breath while shouting, "LiYing!!"

After his breathing was a little regular, Wu Xiao immediately wiped the sweat on his forehead and muttered, "I had a bad dream as it turned out, but why does it feel so real? Why in my dream did I see Princess Ying in danger?"

Wu Xiao tried to assume this was all just a mere sleeping flower and forgot about it. He then glanced out the window reflecting the light of the morning sun, he got up from his bed and immediately prepared.

Today Wu Xiao was looking to relax enjoying the atmosphere of the valley of YanCheng City after burying himself in the matter of the city lately.

He became increasingly closed and his quiet nature makes his representatives who are not much different from him prefer to stay away not bothering, after all he was not too concerned too.

Amid enjoying the forest from the cliff, a servant carried a scroll in his hand.

"Your Majesty, the border area is having a bit of trouble. Please see the letter from Mr. Qin."

Wu Xiao took it and opened it. "Why are there suddenly so many BaiQing troops heading towards the western region?"
