[VOL 1] 'Illus Queen' - Part 4

Elrion continued to lead his army through the forest to the point he had determined to build a base.

However, Kornu felt that something was unnatural. "General, don't you think there's anything strange?" 

Elrion. "Yes, something's wrong."

He had actually felt this way since five minutes ago. I don't know why something is unnatural. But he also did not know what was unnatural about this.

Just like Elrion, he doesn't know. It's hard how to express what he feels now. What he knew was just his premonition saying that something was wrong now.

"Hey you, how long are we still at that location?" ask Elrion. To the soldier he had previously sent to be a spy.

"Not far from the General, probably about 15 minutes away" said the soldier. Then he pointed to one of the tallest trees far ahead. "After passing through the big tree, we will reach the General" he explained.

The tree is very tall. Even so high they could see the top end. Although it should be blocked by trees in the forest.

Elrion looked far towards the tree in question. "Hm, alright," he said and continued on his way.

Half an hour passed, and inexplicably Elrion was with his troops not to the point where they were headed.

"General, it's just my feeling, or the closer we get to the tree, it's somehow not getting closer, but it's getting farther away" Kornu said.

This is so weird. Unnatural either. They walked straight up to the tree. But they felt like they were walking backwards.

Elrion looked towards the tree in question. His face turned serious. "You're right, too, we shouldn't have taken this long just to cross this forest" he said.

'What actually happened?' his inner. Ellion began to feel uneasy. It's definitely an abnormal thing. 

Then Elrion turned to look at Kornu who was next to him. "Hey, Kornu do you feel the presence of an enemy near us?" 

Kornu is a Sword Magician. The range of his technique was clearly further than spirit users like him. Kornu is also an expert in detection magic. Asking him this was definitely the best option at the moment.

Kornu shook his head. "No General, I don't feel any enemies near us at all" Kornu was convinced. Ever since they entered the forest, he had actually already activated area magic to detect the presence of enemies. And until now he had not felt any enemy at all.

"But wait a minute, General." Kornu felt the need to activate a more powerful detection magic to further confirm it. He did not wish that due to his little negligence, it would be fatal to him and all the troops they brought.

Kornu got down from his horse, drew his sword, and stuck the tip to the ground.

"Saint Magic ... Detection Area!" In an instant suddenly appeared a magic circle right under his feet.

The circle makes a sound like a water droplet, while the air around it spreads gently like a wave on the surface of the water affected by the droplet.

The wave spread for miles, with Kornu at its center. With that also Kornu can feel all the life in this forest, not only the number of trees, and animals, but small insects, even the number of leaves in the ground Kornu can know.

It took some for Kornu until he ended his magic.

"As I said before, General, even after using this magic, I have detected no people or enemies in this entire forest area except for us. There are only animals and insects that inhabit this forest," he explained.

"Hm, okay. Then let's move on" said Elrion. 

"Okay General," replied Kornu and returned to his horse.

Although he was still not convinced, Elrion still believed in Kornu, who was his confidant.

However, only a few meters did they advance. Suddenly the forest that had been bright, in an instant turned into a thick fog.

Elrion and Kornu who saw it instantly turned wary with extremely panicked faces. 

"Everything remains.watch out for us the arrival of the enemy!" Shouted Erlion.

"Yes!" exclaim all warriors.

"W-how is that possible? I'm sure I don't feel anyone's presence at all" Kornu said.

"Kornu stay focused! There is no time to blame yourself! One thing is for sure, our current enemy is very dangerous!" elrion.

"Hm?" Elrion looked back.

"What's the General?" ask Kornu

"Why, suddenly everything feels quiet" replied Elrion. All the troops behind him somehow felt like they disappeared in an instant. That's what Elrion felt.

That time.

"What's wrong? Why do you guys look so panicked like that?"

A woman's voice came from in front of them. All the soldiers who were around Elrion instantly moved in front of Elrion with swords in their hands.

An oval-shaped portal as tall as a human body appeared in front of him. 

At that time there was a female figure with full body armor in pitch black. His black hair was pulled back. She is a beautiful woman and full of charisma. At his age that is clearly not young anymore, still does not fade his elegance and self-respect.

But not to be amazed by his presence. Elrion was shocked. At the sight of this woman who was dubbed as the Queen of illusions, was before him.
