24 — We Go Home?

After the incident where Kezia slapped Vernon for the first time. Vernon invites Kezia to talk and straighten out their problems. Vernon's heart was a little relieved because Kezia was no longer afraid of his presence. Kezia was also getting used to it despite keeping a distance with Vernon.

"What do you want to talk about? Isn't everything done?" asked Kezia flatly.

Vernon glanced at his wife, staring fixedly at Kezia, "You hate me?" Vernon ignored Kezia's question. The man raised a question that always disturbed his mind and heart.

Kezia closed his eyes and allowed his gaze to avoid Vernon's gaze which was able to make his faith waver. "You already know the answer." said Kezia.

Vernon breathed heavily. This is what Vernon was afraid of, Kezia was cold and hated Vernon. "You can do anything to avenge all my actions. But, don't go without news. You worry us." said Vernon. The man's hand was trying to reach Kezia's hand which was not far from his reach.

"We?" Kezia raised one eyebrow after hearing Vernon's statement.

Vernon nodded lightly, "You're making us worry. You ran away and we tried to find you. And the traitor was silent - silent cut off all connections to hide your existence." Vernon undoes his intention to touch Kezia. The woman turned fierce and always avoided Vernon.

"Traitor? You mean Figo — Ah not — Rafael?" Kezia faces Vernon to lure the man out explaining everything.

Vernon clenched his mouth tightly. Vernon was enjoying the view in front of him. His wife looks sexy when she is angry. Vernon hated himself for realizing this.

Vernon cleared his throat lightly. "You know about him?" ask Vernon.

"of course. Rafael always helped me and Figo always protected me when I ran off— I mean—em.." Kezia turned agitated. He promised not to mention the past. It can provoke the emotions of Vernon who is undergoing therapy.

But unexpectedly, Vernon just silently looked at Kezia, guilt started to eat away at the man's mind. Vernon was eager to punch the wall beside him. And yells that he wants to shoot Figo in the head because he has been presumptuous to steal the opportunity to be close to his wife.

"You look close to him" said Vernon trying to be relaxed.

"He helped me."

"Yes, it's all my fault."

"Vernon—"

"I wish I'd quickly come to my senses for injuring you too far. That time I really lost control because you always messed up my mind."

"Stop. You've been trying to change."

"It doesn't change what happened between us. You, me, and our son. You ran away with her because I'm—"

"VERNON!"

Kezia got up and yelled at Vernon because the man was always cutting off his speech.

"Kez.."

"And it's for your mouth that always interrupts me."

Kezia looks cranky - ngos and want to get out of the room. But suddenly his arm pulled Vernon and made Kezia lose balance. Finally, Kezia overpowers Vernon and is equally on the couch.

For some reason Kezia's mind became empty and began to be hypnotized with Vernon's sharp eyes.

"You want to go again?" asked Vernon in a low tone looking at the position of Kezia who was too close to him.

Kezia remained silent and did not answer.

"Don't go. Give me a chance, I'll make up for all my mistakes."

This time Kezia collapsed and brought herself closer unknowingly. He couldn't lie about something that made him miss Vernon. The man was like a magnet to Kezia.

Vernon looked at Kezia getting sharper. Vernon always failed to focus and saw Kezia's lips that teased him earlier.

"My eyes are here Vernon" said Kezia and began to dare to touch Vernon's face even though his hands began to tremble.

"You know? I always scare everything about you. All the wounds I've received have always been scarred and difficult to remove. I can't give you a second chance. You chose to be with another woman. As for me. I gave it all up for my husband who doesn't care about me at all." Kezia pulled back her hand. Tears began to fall from his eyes.

Vernon slightly widened both eyes. Kezia was trying to avoid Vernon because he thought about it?

"Listen to me well, sweetheart. Ever since you left, I've realized something. I'm just obsessed with j****g which makes our relationship broken. You're the one person who can drive me crazy and convince me to want to turn into a better person." Vernon said it without giving a pause. For a moment, Kezia was surprised because Vernon would bother to answer Kezia's heartbreak.

"Me and him have nothing to do. I'm so sorry. I'm really sorry to remember that damn woman always lured me to hurt you."

Kezia pursed her lips and held back the crying that wanted to come down.

"Are you satisfied? Is something still bothering you?" ask Vernon who is still loyal to play Kezia's adorable haircut.

Kezia shook his head, distanced his body and wanted to get up for fear of his body becoming a burden to Vernon. But again - again Vernon arrested Kezia.

"Let it be like this. I still want to be with you."

"Vernon.ada is waiting for us outside."

"Not to worry. They're not going in."

"Vernon!"

"Well, fine.I'll let you go but promise me first."

Kezia frowned, "What?"

"Go home with me."

"But—"

"If you don't want to I won't let you go. I don't mind either." Vernon smiled meaningfully. Vernon grew bolder despite Kezia's deathly gaze.

"All right!! Now let go of your hands!!"

Vernon and Kezia came out of the room with radiant faces. In Kezia's hand was a bouquet of ranunculus flowers given by Vernon. The two of them were unaware that there were four people staring at them in surprise.

Can they make peace with each other so soon?

"You guys — have talked?" ask Mrs. Risa and Kezia responded with a small nod. Kezia seems misbehaved because Vernon is always staring at her.

"You sure?" ask Mrs. Lisa again.

"Yes mama. Is something wrong?" Vernon looked at Mrs. Lisa with full search.

Mrs. Risa shook her head, "No, it's just that mama's a little incredulous."

Vernon closed his mouth and looked towards Mr. Clayton's. His father looked dumbfounded on the spot. Just now Mr. Clayton was worried about the temperament of Vernon, but it turned out that the boy showed no significant symptoms.

"Okay, now we go home. No more business, right? It's late, not good for Excelo" Mrs said. Lidya.

"Kezia's coming home with me."

"What!?" exclaim Mrs. Lidya who was surprised by Vernon's words.

"Mama..."

"No, I can't. At least let Kezia rest for a while." Mr. Riwijaya responded. From this moment Mr. Riwijaya just silently observed Kezia's change in attitude.

Vernon turned grim and glanced at Kezia. The woman simply shrugged her shoulders and gestured for Vernon to budge.

"alright. But I will pick up Kezia tomorrow to go home to me" Vernon said unwillingly. In fact, it was very difficult to convince Kezia to return to his home.

Mr. Riwijaya weighed in on Vernon's request. Then approve it. Mr. Riwijaya does not want to make her son's relationship with Vernon more complicated.

After that they went home with a burden of problems that began to fade. Vernon was so happy that he didn't know how to express his happiness. Kezia, the woman he had always been in vain would want to return to start a new page with Vernon. The woman was very kind and thought about the circumstances of others. Kezia also tries to eliminate the past that is disturbing his mind.

Vernon deserves a second chance. All these evils did not arise out of Vernon's desire. After realizing all he had done, Vernon wanted to change his attitude so that Kezia would come back to help Vernon out of the dark.

Marriage is not about happiness. Pardoning each other and admitting mistakes can make that sacred bond even stronger. Change can be a person's experience so that mistakes in the past do not repeat themselves in the future.
