Sons & Daughters

Sons & Daughters
Be honest

The sky began to light up. I'm waiting at a crossroads looking for Reyhan. I occasionally look back at the newspaper cut. If I had noticed, the address of the burning company should have been near where I was. But it feels weird. No one knows about this incident. Even I have asked the person who has lived the longest in the area around here, but he also does not know about this incident.

"Daughter here!" reyhan shouted from across the street

"Yes for a second" I immediately hid the sheet in my bag. Look to the right and to the left to cross.

"Are you ready?" ask Reyhan

"Where are we going?" answer me

"You're coming along. This is an important place for both of us. I hope with this your memory of me can come back" Reyhan said as he took a swing to leave

Accidentally across the street, I saw the figure of the Son. His face looks tired and confused. He looked at me while waving his hand with a slight smile. Although I could feel, that he still could not give me completely. Forgive me Son, for my heart has chosen another.

"Are you okay?" asked Reyhan while slowing down the speed of his car

"Yes I'm fine Reyhan. Don't worry,"

"Let me guess you must be thinking about the Son, right?"

"No, I'm not thinking about the Son" I replied evasively

Reyhan then rubbed a little cheek and said, "Daughter, do I know you're lying to me? Honestly, I promise I won't be mad at you."

"Is the story long enough?"

I then explained everything to Reyhan. About me and my son. Our childhood promise. The closeness of both of us and the feelings of each other. I try to be honest, that I cannot accept the love of the Son. And the reason I chose you. Looks like Reyhan's trying to digest my whole story. Then he immediately pulled over and then spoke.

"You know Princess, I think Son just still can't Move-On from you. It must be hard to let someone we have loved for years. But as time went on, I was sure. Your friendship will return. Though it may not be the same as it used to be."

"What do you mean?" I asked what Reyhan's statement meant

"If we're married, I certainly can't let you play often or just joke with your male friends so freely. Including the Son." Reyhan looks shy. Face reddened.

"Are you jealous?" I teased Reyhan a little

"Yes reasonable dong, jealous of his own wife." Reyhan then pinched my cheek harder.

"You're so mean Reyhan. Look at this my cheek is so red. I'm like a tomato" I stroked my red cheek from Reyhan's spoiled pinch

"Belgroff." Reyhan turned his face and drove back

We've been gone for about 30 minutes, but we still haven't got to where Reyhan said we were.

"Reyhan where are we really going? I've never seen this place before" I exclaimed as I looked out from inside the car's glass

"This place is hard to reach. Although not many people know this place anymore, but this is where it matters to us," Reyhan then lowered his speed and immediately turned into a small uninhabited hallway. The extremely quiet atmosphere made a sinister impression in this place. Reyhan then stopped his car in this area.
