Rhinayung
Days With Grandma

I have been living with Grandma for two weeks. For two weeks also my father and mother did not see me at all. Though the distance of the father's house to the grandmother's house is only two hundred meters. My mother didn't ask me at all.

Right today, it's been five days for grandma's shop to reopen. I'm the one who takes care of it after school. As grandma taught me, I had to take note of every item sold, including the price. The night after I studied, the child's grandmother counted and matched the money received. Always fit in and grandma trusts me so much.

"Rinayung, records like this must be routinely done. So that capital is not mixed with personal money. Alkhamdulillah, five days the stalls are open and the profit is very good," said my grandmother happily.

It was great to see my grandmother happy. Hopefully this will happen forever and my father will no longer force me to steal Grandma's merchandise. May my father come to his senses and repent. The impulse from my heart is very strong to admit the mistake and immediately apologize to grandma. But my mouth is still awkward to open. I was also afraid that Grandma would throw me out and would not support me anymore. If that happens, where will I go? Staying with my mom and dad again, it means I'm going to get ruined.

"Rinayung, this is money for you. Make snacks at school, if the rest is saved. You are in 3rd grade Junior High. Immediately the test. Grandma hoped, your scholarship continued. So you can go to SMA. Thank you for going to college" said the grandmother, handing me a twenty thousand note.

"No need, Grandma! I've brought rice from home" I subtly refused.

"It's okay, besides you will have to guard Grandma's shop," continued the grandmother.

"Grandma keep the money," I subtly refused.

Grandma left her seat, entered the room and picked up something. It turned out to be a chicken piggy bank made of plastic material.

"Grandma bought it at the market. One day set aside twenty thousand for you to go to school later," said the grandmother as she gently stroked my head.

Spontaneously I hugged grandma. My grandmother loved me more than both of my parents. Really, I've made the biggest mistake of my life. I'm sorry, so sorry if all this time I just obeyed my father's rotten orders.

The next day, I started the routine as usual. Cooking rice before going to school, while grandmothers cook vegetables. Simple vegetables picked from the garden.

"Grandmother, Mr. Narto bought a cigarette. No change at all. The money is a hundred thousand, from the school, who shop with big money. Pak Narto was shopping ahead of Maghrib. Said Mr. Narto gapapa change tomorrow morning," I said to my grandmother after finishing the maghrib prayer.

"Don't hold back the change, let alone wait for tomorrow. Try to return it immediately. Grandma has a spare change. You drive to Pak Narto's house, yes" said my grandmother who was always honest with her customers.

"Good, Grandma!"

I immediately went to Mr. Narto's house, and brought the change. Pak Narto's house is not far from Grandma's house, so even though the night is dark because of the lack of lighting, I still dare myself.

"Ah, why the hurry? Tomorrow morning is also gapapa," said Pak Narto.

"Say Grandma now, sir. It just so happened that Grandma had a dime!"

"Rinayung, are you okay? If your father does that again, you scream for help. So that people hear. At least if the citizens come, your father will stop his silly actions" said Mr. Narto, who made me a little embarrassed.

"Yes, Sir. Lukaku is better. Yes, yes, sir. I say yes, Grandma is waiting to eat" said my father.

"Yes, Rinayung! Hopefully everything will be fine" said Pak Narto shortly after I say goodbye.
