Eps 40: Second Friend.

I used to feel the meaning of loss. I can't do anything to protect them. I'm weak, I'm stupid, I'm naive and I'm helpless. But this time I make sure it will be different, I will fight back and move forward to the front if the person I love gets hurt!

The sound of tree branches in the wind scratched the walls of the hut, the atmosphere was quiet and the lights dimmed that illuminated the darkness of the night installed around the wall. Power sat cross-legged in front of Grandpa while bowing his head sadly looking at Grandpa's body that looked increasingly weak and helpless. At the end of the hut Maya still held back her cries with a whimper that was still felt in the chest.

Seeing the Power still waiting for him, Grandpa spoke to him,

"What are you waiting for, boy Daya? Go to sleep, it's night" said Grandpa Maya softly looking at the eyes of Daya with a soft look.

Daya just nodded slowly and left Grandpa and fell asleep in the corner of the room.

The morning had come, Daya opened her eyes slowly and saw Maya sitting down in front of Grandpa while looking at her Grandfather's pale face.

"Hahh .. unfortunately your fate, Maya," Inner Daya as she approached Maya who was sitting in front of her Grandfather.

After Daya sat beside him, they only stayed silent for a few minutes looking at Grandpa's calm face. The force that saw Maya's grief and Grandpa's breath that was no longer blowing already thought that Maya had learned the fact that her Grandfather was gone. When Daya wants to tell Maya the reason for her grandfather's death, her speech is unexpectedly cut off by Maya,

"I already know what happened, Daya. You don't have to tell me what happened. That night when you two were still chatting, I wasn't asleep."

Daya just nodded her head slowly, they looked back at Grandpa's face without saying a word. The silence and silence were broken by Maya's request,

"Will you help me put Grandpa's body in his final resting place, Daya?" pinta Maya turned her gaze towards Daya with tears dripping down her cheeks.

"Of course, Maya," replied Daya with a soft hand while nodding her head with a faint smile on her lips.

They wake up and prepare the tools that might be needed to bury Grandpa's corpse. Power took the hoe and dug the ground around the hut according to Grandpa's will, while Maya wiped Grandpa's body using warm water and changed Grandpa's clothes with cleaner clothes. Once everything is ready, it's time for Maya and Daya to carry Grandpa's body. They put Grandpa's body in his final resting place and then closed his grave using excavated soil.

Maya and Daya sit together in front of Grandpa's grave, Maya little memory of the time when her grandfather was alive. For a few minutes they stayed in this position. The morning wind blew moving the leaves and the dew was seen falling on the surface. With a downcast face Maya said softly to Daya,

"The only family I have is dead, I don't know what to do anymore." Maya shifted her seat to face Grandpa's grave and said, "For my last wish, allow me to go on an adventure with you, Daya!" pinta Maya with a sitting position rested and bowed her head respectfully.

Hearing Maya's plea, Daya stood up from her sitting position with a smile on her lips and asked Maya to hold her head up,

"You don't have a real family anymore, but you still have us. We will not betray or make you cry. Let's be what we dream of together!" said Daya who had stood up then extended her hand towards Maya.

Maya smiles at Daya's words while receiving a helping hand. They enter the hut to wake Jaka up and prepare the items to go to what they dream of.

"Hey, Jaka. Let's get up, there's still something we have to do!" said Daya while shaking Jaka's body trying to wake her up.

"Let's get up, we'll have to enlist in the swordsman's union! You forgot!?"

"Hahhh .. Is it morning?" jaka said as he rubbed his eyes and tried to move his body.

Seeing Jaka who had woken up, Daya immediately took his things from Maya's place. Starting from the bag to the spear that has been wrapped in black cloth. While Daya was putting up her bag, Jaka asked,

"Where are Grandpa and Maya? Oh ... lest they were dancing outside celebrating Kakekkan's recovery? Hahaha," said Jaka, laughing without knowing the truth.

"No! Grandpa's dead, Jaka!" refutation Daya looked Jaka in the eyes.

Laughter and pride that was in Jaka disappeared immediately Power tell the truth. Jaka furrowed his brows puzzled by what had happened.

"A-what's your max, Daya? Grandpa Maya is dead? I-I don't understand!?"

"Me and Maya will tell you everything later on the journey, now you're ready to go!"

Jaka just kept silent listening to what Daya said. Jaka's mind was still trying to digest what was really going on. On the other hand Power saw Maya who seemed to want to take something. It turned out that Maya was picking up three jars of thick, red liquid that looked like blood.

"What is that, Maya?" tanya Daya was confused by what Maya brought.

"This is what we need to become warriors, Daya!"

"What is Monster Bee's blood?"

"Yep, as you think. This blood is one of the conditions to become a swordsman!"

"Oh .. okay."

After all that was needed was ready, the three of them came out of the house and prepared to go towards the Swordsman Union, each of them holding a jar containing the blood of a Monster Bee. Before leaving Maya took the time to see her hut house for the last time. As Maya sees her hut, Maya imagines the moment she and her Grandpa play, work and laugh together in the old hut house. Even though the hut was broken and old, but inside the hut it held a very precious memory.

"Goodbye Grandpa, calm down there," Maya's inner self turned and walked away from her hut. Jaka and Daya follow Maya's footsteps.

During the trip to the Swordsman Union, Jaka always asked about what really happened. Jaka is confused and feels strange why Grandpa Maya died when she was given medicine by Maya. Mayapun finally told all he knew to Jaka. As Jaka had heard all of Maya's explanations, Jaka could only sigh and bow without any reaction on his face.
