"That's what I want to tell you, do you want to listen to my story, son Daya?"

"Of course, Cake."

Grandfather Maya was silent for a few seconds, lowered her gaze, pulled and

exhaled slowly then began to look at Daya's eyes and began to speak,

"Past or about fifteen years ago, we lived in happiness and comfort. Happy to have a complete family and the comforts of home, food and clothing are fulfilled. But everything changes when the goddamn king does something stupid that leaves many of his people dead. The incident was named Tragedy Morway," explained Grandpa Maya with a rising tone and a sharp gaze staring at the ceiling of her bamboo hut.

Power's eyebrows flexed, he felt he had heard of the Tragedy of Morway before. Confused, Daya asks about the Morway Tragedy.

"What is Morway Tragedy, Cake?"

"The tragedy of Morway is the time when the King draws a great tax on the people of the city and the village, who cannot pay, who cannot pay, so the King will order the warriors to punish and execute the citizens" replied Grandpa Maya with his head lowered, his eyes radiating anger and his hands clenched in light of the Morway Tragedy that had changed his life.

Hearing Grandpa Maya's explanation, Daya's gaze was angry and her lips could not stop shaking. In his heart thought; why would a King who should protect the people even do otherwise, why would a King give a tax that imposes his people, why are the warriors who are supposed to protect the people even following the King's cruel orders and why is this all possible. Daya wanted to ask all that to Grandpa Maya, but because of her intense sense of regret, Daya could only grit her teeth hard and clench her hands tightly until the veins in her hands were strained by it. Daya's resentment and angry gaze were split as Grandpa Maya continued her explanation.

"Our family is one of the many citizens who cannot pay taxes because it is too expensive. Maya's father, mother and grandmother were executed, after which we lived alone. Our happiness is gone and our comfort is taken away by the goddamn King" Grandpa Maya's wrath as she tears.

"At that time Maya was four years old, she was so smart that she knew what had happened to her parents. At that time our door was pounded by several warriors, because they knew what would happen to them, maya's parents told us to lock the door and escape through the back door while her parents went to meet the warriors.

"When his parents went to meet the warriors, it was when the bloodshed that left both of Maya's parents dead. I intended to close Maya's ears, but I was too late to do so. I feel like a stupid grandfather letting Maya listen to the warriors kill her parents.

"After escaping, we moved to this hut and started a new life, Maya still smiled even though I was sure deep down she was crying. Weeping because he had no parents, weeping because he only ate a pinch of rice in one day, and crying to see the people living hungry while the King and his minions lived in a jungle of treasure.

"Not everyone agrees with the King, nor do some of the warriors, some of the warriors willingly help the suffering people. They can't fight the King, the warriors help us in a stealthy way. Because many citizens feel themselves oppressed, as from the citizens go from this Kingdom and pass into other kingdoms. After a few years the King was in power, eventually he died and was replaced with the present King.

"The present king is better than the previous king, he wants to draw the people's trust back by making a letter of agreement between the people and the warrior. If anyone wants to become a swordsman, they must be obliged to obey the letter of the agreement" explained Grandpa Maya seriously.

"Why should you ask me to promise to protect Maya?" daya asked in surprise because she could not get an answer to the question she had previously asked.

"Oh .. so that's what's black and there's a lot of muscle in her body" Inner Power after hearing Grandpa Maya's explanation.

"I'm old, can't move much and work. All this time I was taken care of by Maya, my beloved granddaughter. I know, he really wanted to be a swordsman, have friends and adventure together. But his dream was hindered because he felt he had a responsibility to take care of me. I know he will be a strong man one day and he will develop quickly. Maya has power and knowledge unlike any woman in general, so I'm sure she will be a friend who will protect you later, Nak Daya.

"I'm old and feel like I'm going to die soon, I told Maya to go kill Verdon's monster and cut off his horn as a medicine that my illness can't be cured anymore."

Hearing Grandpa Maya's explanation, Daya furrowed her brows.

"Why did you get Maya to kill the Verdon monster when the horn couldn't help cure your illness!? The monster could have killed him," cut Power in a slightly irritated tone.

"Maya won't die that easily, Son Power. He knows that defeating Verdon alone is impossible and I am sure he will find a friend who will help him kill Verdon. Then look! I knew what she was going to do, Maya found a friend who was willing to help her and help her" said Maya's grandfather with a smile on his lips.

"So that Verdon monster horn that Maya boiled just now is what?" tanya Daya who began to be surprised by Grandpa Maya's explanation.

"Hehe .. it is a poison that I drink with happiness," Grandpa Maya replied with a laugh that sounded very sincere.

"Huh ...!? Didn't that part of the monster that had died had no poison anymore? What about you and Jaka!?" tanya Daya was getting upset because she felt Jaka's life was in danger. Daya is very confused by Grandpa Maya's explanation which is different from what Maya said.

"Hehehe .. You know that from Maya, don't you? I lied to her, I actually meant to die a long time ago, but I wanted to see my granddaughter become what she dreamed of, even though I had to see her from up there. Don't worry about your friend, he'll be fine. Toxin is everything to me, with it I will lose this pain and with it my beloved grandson makes what he dreams of." Grandpa Maya smiled and cried at the same time.

Tears of happiness trickled down her cheeks and a huge smile coiled around Grandpa Maya's lips. Now Daya has found out what Grandpa Maya really wants to do. Without Grandpa Maya and Daya guessing, it turns out that all this time Maya eavesdropped on their conversation. Maya cries sobbing in her sleep, due to Maya's sleeping position that turns her back on Grandpa Maya and Daya, making them unable to know that Maya has been awake all this time.

A cry adorning Maya's eyes flowed towards her brown cheeks as well as sobs began to be felt on her chest. Maya pinches her own thighs to let her cries subside,

but no matter how much Maya pinched herself, the pain was not worth the sadness she was now feeling.
