Possessive Companions
Chapter 121

The funeral is over. Some mourners began to return to their homes. Carla looked at Darren who was silent staring at the mound of land. His eyes then turned to the silent Doni. The boy's eyes were reddened. However, not a single tear was seen anymore.

"Darren," Carla's call made Darren look at her. "I want to talk about something."

Darren nodded. She followed Carla and her husband. While Doni, the boy stands among Darren's family. He was standing right between Gara and Edo.

"Doni, let's go home!" Take Gara.

"I still want to be here, Cake." Said the boy. His eyes were not separated from the tomb of Grandpa and Grandma.

"You go back to the car. I'll wait for Doni here." Gara. Edo was a little surprised to hear the words of his best friend. But, a smile was engraved on his lips. It's the warm attitude Edo likes from his best friend.

As Gara said, everyone went back to the car, leaving Gara with Doni there.

Darren looked at Carla and her husband in turn. "What do you want to talk about?"

"I don't know if it's the right time or not. But, I have to deliver it. This is a message from Papa. Papa wants you and Asya to take care of Doni. I don't want to give up my responsibilities to Doni. It's just, Doni is not easy to get along with others. I'm sure, Papa said this because Papa had thought about it well."

"Yes. He told me at that time. I'll take care of the papers. After two days, I'll pick Doni back with me to country A."

Carla's eyes heat up to hear Darren's words. He can't hold back his tears. But, this is a good decision. Doni would be better off living with people he could easily interact with.

Carla's eyes looked at Doni who was walking towards them with Gara in her arms. There was no sign of the boy taking off Gara's grasp. Carla is convinced that Doni will grow better with Darren and Asya.

For taking Doni to Carla. The boy was silent like that.

"Thank you, Uncle, for accompanying Doni." Said Carla's husband.

"No problem. Doni is also my grandson."

"Thank you, Uncle." Said Carla got a nod Gara.

"Doni, Grandpa's coming home first. Take care of your health." Said Gara, stroking the top of Doni's head. The boy just looked at Gara and nodded. Gara patted Darren's shoulder gently and rushed towards the car.

"I'll be home too." Darren. The man then crouched down, likening his height to Doni "Papa's coming home first. You take care of your health. Don't forget to eat, okay?" Doni nods.

Darren sighed. "Papa wants you to stay healthy. Take good care of yourself. Don't get sick. Everyone will be sad if you are sick." Doni nodded his head again.

Darren again breathed. There was a strange feeling when he saw Doni not answer his words and just nodded. He didn't like the kid to be quiet like this.

Darren stood up again. She looked at Carla and her husband with her hands still on Doni's head.

"I'm taking my son." He said, rubbed Doni's head, then left.

Carla was stunned to hear Darren's words. He was shocked when Darren called himself "Papa" earlier. And he was even more surprised to hear Darren say "My son" just now.

Carla rubs Darren's head. "You get in the car first, huh? Mama's going to Grandma's grave again." He said, which was taken by Doni.

Darren pushed slowly on the door of his room, trying not to disturb Asya's sleep. However, when the door opened wide, he did not see the woman. Aurel said, Asya was asleep. Why was his wife not in their bed?

"Darling!"

"Asians!"

Darren came closer to the bathroom. He knocked, but there was no answer. Darren pushed him and entered. But there is no Asya.

"Assya! Baby, where are you?"

"I'm here." Answer the woman with her innocent look.

Darren took a breath and immediately walked over to his wife who was standing at the door. He grabbed the woman and hugged her.

"Where are you from?" Darren peeked at the top of his head.

"I'm from the kitchen. I'm so thirsty. So to the kitchen."

"You didn't know I was coming?"

The woman shook her head. "Maybe I'm in the kitchen bathroom again."

Darren took his breath. He was really worried if anything happened to his wife and their baby-to-be.

"Yes already. Come on, lay down again." Darren took off his embrace and switched to locking the door. He then grabbed his wife by the waist and took her to their bed.

"Darling, I don't want to lie down anymore." Said Asya, sitting on the bedside.

"Then?"

"I want a hug."

Asya looked at her husband's face. His hand raised rubbed Darren's cheek. "Are you exhausted?"

"Just a little."

"Let me massage."

"No. You need to rest."

"I'm okay. I'll massage you."

"Darling, we'll just sleep. Okay?"

"But..."

"I want to talk while lying down."

"Yes already. Come on!"

The couple lay down at the same time. Asya lay on Darren's arm. Her hands were around her husband's waist. His face was fixed on the chest of Darren's field. So did Darren. The man wrapped his hands around Asya's body. Sometimes he peeps at the top of the woman's head.

"How's Doni doing? You must have met him at the funeral, right?"

"Hm... She's doing just fine. It's just, he's becoming very quiet."

"What a pity my son."

"Dear,"

"Hmm?" Asya looked up at her husband.

"Grandfather Doni got Doni on us. He wants us to take care of Doni."

"really?"

"Yes. Before he died, he told me that. He told Carla. And we talked about it."

"I'm glad to hear that, baby. I'm ready to take care of Doni."

"I'm happy too. I've asked my people to take care of Doni's official adoption papers. After that, I'll go get Doni."

"What... Can I come pick up Doni later?"

"Can. But promise me something."

"What?"

"Follow what I say. And don't let you get tired."

Asya nodded enthusiastically. She hugged her husband even tighter. Chest kissing Darren field.

"Dear, sleep!" Darren said with a heavy voice.

"I was asleep." Reply Asya relaxed, back kissing the chest of the husband.

"Don't fish, Asya. I'm holding myself back from hurting our child-to-be."

"I'm not fishing for you. You're the one with the perverted mind. Yeah, get some sleep."

Asya showed her pouting expression, released her embrace, then turned her back to Darren.

"Darling..."

"Don't fish! I don't want to get angry." Asya said, repeating Darren's words as she felt the touch of the man's hand on her arm.

Darren who heard it gulped. He felt that his wife was serious this time. But, it wasn't Darren if he couldn't hug Asya back.

Slowly, he moved closer to his wife.

"Not move around! It's hot!" Asya said ketus.

"It's getting hot?" Darren's whisper suddenly, right in Asya's ear. Makes the woman shiver.

"Y-sure."

"alright. Then you forgot your promise just now. I still want to be hugged. But, you rejected me. Well, then, there's no show to pick up Doni." Darren said as he distanced his body from Asya, and folded both his hands on his chest.

Hearing that, Asya quickly turned around. He let go of Darren's side-covered hand and entered in the man's warm embrace.

"We sleep in hugs." Said Asya while grinning. Makes Darren chuckle at his wife's behavior.
