I REMEMBER
"Mama, why take that necklace off?" Alvero looked towards Larena who with a sad face and my eyes removed the necklace she had always worn, a beautiful necklace that was a wedding gift from Vincent.
"Mama must return this necklace to its owner. For the time being, mama no longer has the right to wear this necklace." Larena said as she placed the necklace that had slipped from her neck onto the dressing table in her room.
Slowly moving and hesitating, Larena opened her dresser drawer, taking out a red velvet box with a pure gold belt around the box. And in a slow motion, Larena opened it. Inside there is a necklace with an oval-shaped pendant and in the middle there is the letter A which is a symbol of the Adalvino family.
In the end I will wear a necklace with this pendant again. Ever since you proposed to me that day, this necklace and pendant always accompanied me until you replaced it with our wedding gift necklace. It seems, right now this necklace and pendant alone will be a memento to me. This locket will always make me remember, at least you ever loved me so much. "Everything is possible, if it turns out. Mama Larena.. is still alive. if mama Larena survived, after the fire." Deanda said in a soft voice.
Although that might be the case, but Deanda knew, she must not make Alvero expect more of what she had just said, because right now, the thought that Larena was still alive was, just Deanda's wishful thinking. No evidence or witness can substantiate the Deanda Analysis.
While Alvero himself, was actually thinking the same thing with Deanda, but Deanda's words were enough to make him jerk. Imagine that Larena is still alive... Alvero did not know how he should be grateful in what way and how much happiness he felt, if it happened.
On the other hand, Alvero did not know, whether he would be able to contain enough of the anger and disappointment that exploded in his heart, he said, knowing how all this time Larena who was still alive deliberately hid and left him without any explanation. Allowing herself to experience so much suffering and loneliness was so frightening, caused by Eliana in her childhood, ever since Larena left.
"Now we should attend afternoon tea. I don't want Eliana's suspicion of us being late or not attending afternoon tea. And for dinner we'll do it fast. After that, according to the original plan, we'll have a video call with Papa Vincent. If our thinking is correct that the pendant belonged to Larena's mother who was given to Alaya. There must be a special reason why that happened. And we have to make sure about the relationship between Mama Larena and Alaya." Alvero said trying to get his voice out as quietly as possible, although at the moment it felt like he wanted to shout as loudly as possible to release the emotional turmoil in his chest.
"Ah, yes, I almost forgot about it. Let's go over there to attend afternoon tea. But my Al..." Deanda stopped her words while looking deeply at Alvero who was still staring at the photo with eyes that Deanda found difficult to interpret.
Whether it was a look of gratitude or anger, a sad or happy look, or even a look of affection or resentment. Deanda can't interpret it. Yang Deanda knew for sure, right now her husband was in need of her support.
