My wife's lover

My wife's lover
chapter 58

I left my wife and Melly's mom alone in the office. Maybe Mbak Melly is more willing to tell stories if with fellow women. When I was just getting to know him, I did sympathize a little with him, especially seeing his young son. But God sent Santi to be my companion. I started to forget and focus on my wife. I don't know what's going on with Melly now, I haven't seen her in a long time since I paid her son's hospital fees.

I returned to the minimarket, the rain was still very heavy until more people were hitching a ride. And sustenance for minimarket as well. Not a few of them end up shopping for drinks or food.

An hour later I went back to the office because soon I would pick up Alya at her school. But at the door, I overheard a conversation between Melly and my wife.

"Thank you, mbak. But I don't want to bother!" said Mbak Melly.

"Not a hassle, pop. Rather than working away from home, right?" wife says.

"But I won't be able to work properly while carrying my child, take it."

"It's okay, if Davina is fussy, you can leave work for a while until she's not fussy anymore. How's it?"

"Hhhmm, I thought about it first."

Tok. "Assalammu'alaikum!" my spoken.

"Wa'alaikumsalam!" my wife and Melly.

I walked in and sat down at the table facing the computer. I saw at the table in front of the sofa there was a rice wrap. Maybe my wife told the employees to buy it.

"Rain is still heavy, am I?" ask wife.

"Yes, she's still. We'll pick up Alya soon." I said.

"Oh, yeah. All right, let's take Melly home, mmas."

"Oh, let's go now!" sahutku.

We headed to the car parked in front of the supermarket. Melly and her son sat in the back. Don't forget my wife brought me a lot of food for Melly's mom.

Melly's mother refused, but my wife said it was for Davina and finally Melly accepted it.

I'm dropping off Melly's mom first. He still lives in his parents' house. The house I used to go to when I drove her home.

"Thank you very much, take it, mas!" he said when he got out of the car.

Suddenly my wife slipped the envelope into Davina's tiny hand. The little girl looked at my wife confusedly and then turned to her mother.

"What is this, a pussy?" ask Melly while looking at my wife.

"That's for Davina!" answered wife.

"But,mbak?" mbak Melly was about to return the envelope.

"Make Davina, mbak. Please don't refuse, yes!" my wife said softly.

Melly smiled, "Thank you, take it!" sahut later.

"If you still need a job, call my number earlier!" my wife said again.

Ma'am Melly nodded, "Yes, the baby. Thanks very much. I'll go home first!" then get off the car.

After the woman got into her house, I drove back to the car.

"Mass?" call my wife.

I glanced, "Hhmm, why?"

"There's nothing to do with Melly before she met me?"

I immediately braked suddenly. Surprised by the question. "Why are you asking like that?" I asked while looking at him.

"Hhmm, n-nothing, ma'am! I'm just asking!" nervous answer.

"Why do you have such thoughts?"

"Hmm, sorry. Forget my question."

"Speak!" my firmness. I don't want my wife to think anything weird.

He turned, "Hhmm, um. I just. . ."

"Mas only helped him and his son at that time! Because her son needs help! Not more. We have only met a few times. You know, she was the ex-wife of an ex-wife who they finally got married and Melly got divorced because of her ex-wife!" my clear.

My wife immediately rounded her eyes, "What, ma'am?"

"Hhmm, what's wrong with helping her when her ex-husband doesn't care about her sick child?"

"Hmm, I-I'm sorry,mas. I just. . ."

"L-yes,mas!"

"Is there anything else that bothers you?"

"Hmm, I-I wanted to help her but she just kept resisting. And the look in his eyes when he saw the mas. .hmm,"

"You don't have to think nothing. Maybe he's embarrassed, or doesn't want to bother us. Even then if you don't want to take your child to the hospital, he still won't!"

"Yes, um."

"Hhmm, we'll pick up Alya, yeah!" take me later.

I started driving to Alya's school. I'm lyrically my wife who's like daydreaming. Looks like he's still thinking about Melly's mom. I could also feel the strange look of Melly's mother. He was wrong every time I saw him staring at me. But I don't want to think anything. Maybe he was surprised to know I was married again.

Arriving at the gate of Alya school it turns out that my daughter has not come home. School is still empty.

"Alya's not out yet" I said.

"Yes,mas."

"You why? Still think about Melly?"

"Hmmm,mas. I'm. . ."

I took a heavy breath. I don't know what my wife thinks.

"The last one met him when Davina was coming home from the hospital. There was Melly's mother at the time. After that we never met again!"

"Mas helped her a lot?"

"Not really."

"Hmm, how could he think that my help is different."

I scrunched my forehead, "Different?"

"Yes,mas. Maybe he has more hope. He was quieter and wouldn't talk until I asked. His face also looked sad and moody."

"Already, don't think about it. Maybe he's in a lot of trouble too. Being sad or do not know the problems that others are facing. Raising a child alone without a caring husband. Sometimes I feel guilty. If not for the ex-wife who took her husband, maybe now her life is still happy with her husband. But it might also be his fate. We don't know someone's fate, do we?"

"Hmm, yeah. But she did not tell me about her husband who married her ex-wife. That's why I was shocked when I said. His life must be heavy. I feel sorry for him, Mas. I hope he accepts my offer to work."

"Where did you offer him to work?"

"Working at our minimarket, mas. Help me take down the warehouse stuff!"

"What?"

"Yes,mas. Why?"

"Hmm, no why. But he's got a kid."

"But he said that he lives with his parents. And I'm also not forbidding him to bring his son, um."

"Hhmm, it's not nice for other employees if he works while carrying a child, yank!"

"The kid can play with me, Mas. Who knows if I could get pregnant, right."

"Hmm, we'll see if he wants to."

"Yes,mas. Looks like Melly's mom is a good guy and not a macem-macem!"

"Yes, let's have a go!"
