"Then..Where are we going?" I asked purely out of curiosity.
Deon clucked unhappily beside me. He shifted his body slightly away from me before closing his eyes to continue sleeping.
I was so embarrassed to interrupt his break. She must have been exhausted all day at my house from talking to my family.
Oh my God, I'm so annoying!
I should have been able to look at the situation before speaking so as not to upset him.
"Sorry, I'm bothering you." I said apologize.
He didn't say anything. His two eyes were still peacefully closed as if he had fallen asleep. Taking a breath of relief, I leaned back on the chair while occasionally noticing Deon's slumbering face beside me. The tension in my body at least eased a little I thought because Deon had already fallen asleep. When he fell asleep, his handsome face looked approachable without any sense of distance like before. Haah, if Deon was the same as 5 years ago then maybe this marriage is not too cold. But unfortunately this was just wishful thinking because Deon had already turned into another Deon, he belonged to a little brother of mine.
"Lho," I stared out into the street in wonder."As I remember we've been through this road."
I'm sure I saw these buildings when I looked out. But, Deon's driver couldn't possibly have taken us around in circles because Deon must have noticed right away. So, maybe it's just my feeling.
But.i doubt it. Should I just ask?
"Sir, I think we've been through this road before." I said while lowering my voice so as not to disturb Deon's rest.
Driver Deon looked at me from the upper rearview mirror, he looked untrue and a little strange.
"Sir-" I wanted to ask again but my words immediately came to a halt as I felt a heavy weight encircle my shoulders.
My body immediately stiffened. Nervous, I did not dare to move my body even a little and I did not even have the great courage to look at Deon, the perpetrator who had struck me with a feeling of tension and nervousness at the same time!
A few minutes waiting, Deon did not make any additional movements anymore. He fell asleep on my shoulder. Her jet-black hair touched my chin, leaving an amused sensation.
I touched this hair as hard as I could to vent the pain and the pleasant euphoria I had that night. I was desperate because that night was a precious night for me.
After years of loving her in silence, I was finally given the chance to spend the night with her even though I was very hypocritical at first to refuse.
I lost my mind because I was happy. I think Deon recognized me when he did it because he called my name. But everything was instantly gone when he saw Deon's rejection face in the morning.
He obviously did not approve of the night of the 'accident' and had to disappear for a week probably because he did not want to be held responsible. But in the end he still came to be responsible even though it was just a series marriage, but I am grateful he still wants to be responsible.
Thinking of this matter, my heart felt as if it was being squeezed.
It would be a lie if I said that I was very satisfied with this marriage, and how could I say I am not satisfied with this marriage.
Confused right?
Me either. I wonder how long I survived this marriage - oh, more precisely until when Deon survived this marriage. A marriage that Deon never expected would happen.
Of course, the bride she expected was definitely Almira and not me. He's disappointed, I know.
Yes, she and I married with a feeling of love that clapped one hand. Worse yet, I am the sister of the woman he loves the most. Marrying me would make her feel unfair.
"Deon," Call me while pushing his shoulder away.
I'm glad she's leaning on my shoulder but I don't want Deon to misunderstand me and think that I'm deliberately taking advantage of the situation to buy her.
"Sorry, I'll shift-"
"Can't you just be quiet for a moment? You're chatty!" He was annoyed while fixing his head position on my shoulder.
I immediately shut my mouth and let Deon do whatever he wanted. Since his head couldn't stay still, I had to raise my head waiting for him to stop moving. Side finally I felt the friction of the hair inside the intersection of my neck. It felt amused so I spontaneously shifted my body. But Deon wasn't happy I was moving away again. He squeezed my waist rough so I couldn't move anymore.
"His.." I closed my eyes while grimacing in pain.
My other hand fumbled at the part of my waist squeezed by Deon. It still hurts but not as sharp as before. Smiling faintly, I did not dare to move recklessly anymore so that Deon would not get angry.
I decided to close my eyes and persuade my greedy heart not to indulge in the warmth of Deon's breath when it hit my neck skin, his dark hair that felt ridiculous when it came into contact with my skin, the smell of his body won my sense of smell.
Sighs..
I inhaled this voracious, fragrant fragrance that had spoiled my sense of smell that night.
"Almira.."
Deg
My heart without me being able to control skipped a beat with pain as her accompaniment.
It hurts so bad Lord, my heart is still not used to this harsh reality that in Deon's heart it belongs to my own little brother.
"....i miss you."
I clenched my hands together to calm down. I never thought hearing Deon's longing for Almira made my eyes ache. Though I would not cry but my tears briskly came out of the corner of my eyes. Before Deon knew it, I hurriedly rubbed my face to wipe away my tears. It's sad, I'm so pathetic.
Even during sleep, the first person Deon always dreamed of was Almira, my younger sister, Deon's real lover.
No, no, no!
I can't regret it because this is what I expected. I ended up getting married to Deon even though it was just a series wedding but this was more than enough for me. No matter how short the relationship is, I will still be grateful.
I was grateful to be this close to Deon, the day that had always been my forbidden dream had actually happened.
With all those bullshit words my mind calmed down a little. My shoulders finally relaxed. I rested my head on the back of the chair to rest my fatigue after a long day of doing things.
