"Rain." Deon's magnetic voice immediately cleared my mind.
I woke up and looked in shock at Deon's handsome face that looked so close to me. I don't know since when I was in Deon's arms, leaning comfortably in front of his chest. With this position besides being able to see Deon's handsome face but I can also inhale Deon's fragrant body.
"Run your body." He said it was still with a flat expression but this time his forehead was a bit wrinkled.
Deon just glanced at me looking disinterested before looking towards my left hand.
"Where's your ring?" Deon's asking still looking at my left hand.
"My ring is in my clothes." I remembered it and immediately took it out in front of Deon.
"Why did you take it off?"
I hurriedly explained, "I don't want this ring to get dirty so I let it go." I answered, lying.
He said nothing, walked to the fridge and opened it to look for something.
I lowered my head, hiding both of my wet eyes that were screaming to be released. In my deepest heart I know that Deon's love is only for Almira. I also knew that if Deon would not let go of my brother, the proof was that he would rather marry me in series than legally in the eyes of law or religion.
This means that this marriage can be dissolved at any time without waiting for a hearing or divorce papers. Deon didn't really want to take responsibility, he just assumed that this series marriage was enough for me because whenever he wanted, I could be dumped at any time.
Cuisine is ready and being moved to serving plates. While waiting for Bi Imah and Bi Dian to prepare food, I proactively cleaned the kitchen. All the dirty stuff I collected in the sink and all the knives I collected in the bottom drawer.
Everyone had gathered on the dining table and I was supposed to sit next to Deon because we were now a married couple. However, on the side Deon was already occupied by Sasa so I couldn't sit there. I couldn't ask because Sasa would definitely not want to move to sit, besides Deon also seemed to have no objection to Sasa's whereabouts beside him.
"Sister Rain is sitting here." My hand was pulled by Ari, Deon's younger cousin and Sasa's older brother.
I often hear about him. He is a kind and friendly person. After meeting today I think what people are saying is not all wrong because Ari is indeed a friendly person.
"Thank you." I sat myself clumsily beside Ari.
Nervous, I then ventured to see Deon to see if he would mind me sitting down with someone else. But the fact is that I expect too much because not only does he not mind but he also does not care where and with whom I sit.
I then lowered my head, hiding the implied embarrassment. Ironic as hell, I was a very uncivilized and heartless woman.
Whereas for these 5 years I have always dictated myself not to expect Deon, not to cultivate the ambition of making Deon mine, and not to snatch Deon from Almira's life.
I am a hypocritical woman. I said no for years but in the end when God tested, I lost my mind and immediately accepted this impromptu marriage.
Instantly, the promises that I planted in my heart soon disappeared were replaced by greed. How could Deon fall in love with me when I was the one who ruined his relationship with my sister.
