Nicholas' mood tonight is bad. He who used to talk a lot and tease the girls who came to the bar where he is currently with Alastair and Aegon, now looks moody. He was not even very active in the chatter of his two best friends.
"Did you see that girl in red who just walked in?"
"Yeah, she's hot."
"I'd like to talk to him, but, of course, he'll be more interested in Nicholas."
The laughter of Alastair and Aegon did not make Nicholas flinch. Although there was a beautiful girl they were talking about, the young man preferred to pay attention to the glass filled with a brownish-yellow liquid in his hand.
"Take it if you want. I'm not interested" said Nicholas indifferently. He only glanced at a scantily dressed beautiful girl in a fur coat sitting at the end of the bar table.
Alastair and Aegon threw eyes at each other. It's not uncommon for Nicholas to turn down a pretty girl when he drinks. Usually he has to be accompanied or even bring a girl to his apartment. Tonight Nicholas is not like the Nicholas they know.
"You why?" ask Alastair.
"It's okay. Why?" Nicholas asked back.
"That girl is so pretty, Nic. Are you really not interested?"
"Well!" nicholas shakes his head.
"You're Nicholas, aren't you?" alastair asked as he examined Nicholas' face up close.
Nicholas hissing. Sipped whisky liquid in his glass, then asked the bartender to fill it again. "I just want a drink tonight. And forget ... pfffh," he grumbled.
"Forget what?" ask Aegon suspiciously.
Nicholas breathed his breath rough. "Forget the annoying girl who rejected me" he replied. Dara's face flashed through his mind without further ado. And Nicholas feels bad not playing.
Back Alastair and Aegon threw eyes at each other. It seemed like the two young men had the same guess. "That Asian-faced girl you mean?"
Nicholas did not answer. He gulped the liquid in his glass, and asked the bartender to fill his glass again.
"You seriously like that girl, Nic?"
"That kind of thing" said Nicholas, raising his shoulders.
"We think you just want to do it" Aegon murmured as he stroked his chin.
"He is ...." Nicholas gulped down his glass. "The strangest girl I've ever met. I mean, it's not weird, but .. ah, what's his name, it sucks. Sia lan's! I don't know how to explain it."
Alastair and Aegon let out their laughter. Then the mangosteen together. They knew Nicholas was confused and frustrated. And this was the first time they had seen the young man behave like this.
"Where, right? The girl's name?" ask Alastair.
"Hm."
"It turns out you got the stone, Nic," said Alastair, chuckling and pointing at Nicholas' face.
"Sia lan you!" maki Nicholas is upset.
"Wait," said Aegon. "I think you're just curious about the girl."
Alastair nodded in agreement with Aegon's opinion. "Yes, you're just curious because he doesn't care about you. While you are usually pursued by many beautiful and sexy girls. Some kind of Sophie."
Nicholas breathed his breath rough. Curious. Probably also. He was curious about Dara, at first. But, there was something inside the girl that made her unable to stop thinking about it.
He thought alcohol could help him forget Dara for a bit. But, what happened was precisely, the girl was increasingly filling his mind. Alcohol is useless, he thought.
"Hey, where are you going?" aegon asked as he watched Nicholas get up from his seat and put his drink bill on the table. Not forgetting he gave the bartender great tips that made the red-haired man excited.
Nicholas did not answer Aegon's question, only raising his eyebrows and pulling the corners of his lips. Then it just passed leaving his two friends astonished.
He got into his Cadillac and drove across the quiet streets of Edinburgh that night. Of course deserted, because the clock has shown at two in the morning. And the idea in Nicholas's head that just happened, the young man will soon be realized.
Nicholas stopped his car in front of a vacant apartment building. There were some homeless people who fell asleep under the sidewalk guardrail, but ignored Nicholas' presence. The young man's steps were a little careless to enter the building.
The building has no elevator. So Nicholas was exhausted enough to reach the floor where Dara lived. Arriving at the door of the girl's apartment, she knocks him hard. Banging, more precisely.
Inside the apartment, Gwen, who fell asleep on the sofa while watching television, jumped in shock at the door being knocked by someone. Effortlessly gathering lives scattered everywhere, Gwen stepped towards the door and opened it.
"Nunnicholas ... Johanssen ...," pointed it at the handsome young man whose face was met with red in front of him.
"Hey, is your friend here?" kekeh Nicholas while raising his eyebrows.
"Become?" ask Gwen.
"Yes. Do you have any other friends who live here?"
Gwen grimaces. "There's in his room. Sleep," he replied innocently.
"Okay," said Nicholas, pushing Gwen's shoulder so she wouldn't stop him from entering.
"Nicholas, wait! You want me to wake him up?" bargain Gwen as she follows Nicholas's steps towards Dara's room.
"I'll wake him up myself" chuckled Nicholas as he pressed the door handle.
"Mmmm .. wait! Sh it!" maki Gwen's. He was late to prevent Nicholas from entering Dara's room. He peeked out from behind the door and watched Nicholas scatter into Dara's bed, and made the sleeping girl scream.
Gwen just grimaced. He slowly stepped back and ran into his room and hid there.
"Nic's? What are you doing in my room? Who let you in? The gwen? Gwen!" shout Dara.
"Hey, Dara! Calm down," said Nicholas as he smothered Dara's mouth.
Of course Dara is revolting. He was really surprised not played by Nicholas. His shock instantly turned into anger. He showered Nicholas with a hand punch, and did not stop beating the young man until his hands were blocked by Nicholas.
"I said, relax, okay?" Nicholas spoke so softly to Dara. The girl nodded.
"Sorry, I surprised you. But I would love to see you" said Nicholas. "I miss you, I don't know why (I miss you, I don't know why)."
Dara's eyes are round. He was still trying to remove his arm from Nicholas's hand despite his weakened movements. His attention was distracted by Nicholas' sad blue eyes. Her elongated blonde hair looked messy, her handsome face met with red. For a moment Dara was amazed.
"Don't protest, Dara, please ...," said Nicholas. "Tonight I was melancholy. I just want to be around you. That's all."
Nicholas's soft voice and facial expression that looked so resigned, made Dara feel a strangeness in the recesses of her heart. Without feeling, Dara slowly stopped the movement of her hand to break away from the clutches of Nicholas. Until the young man took off the coat wrapped around his sturdy body, and lay down before him, Dara was only able to look at him.
