"This is not the way to my apartment" Dara protested.
Nicholas gave directions to the taxi driver, opposite the direction to his apartment. Dara who was still upset became even more annoyed.
"I changed my mind" replied Nicholas lightly.
"Huh? You're kidding me, aren't you?"
"No."
Dara growling. "I'll just get down here. Sir!"
"No, no, keep going (Keep it)!" nicholas orders the taxi driver. "Ke Leith River Walk" he continued.
Dara was confused. Why go to Leith River. What Nicholas is going to do there. But, tired of arguing with Nicholas, Dara was silent until they really got to where they were headed.
"What are you doing here?" dara asked as Nicholas took her to a restaurant cafe with a view of the Leith river at night filled with dim lights, colorful eye-pleasing.
"Stay back" snickred Nicholas while choosing the seat closest to the river and restaurant guardrail. A cold breeze slapped their faces.
Dara's face was still pouting, though she had not complained much about Nicholas' actions. Like the young man's destination to this place, Dara tried to relax enjoying the beautiful view of the Leith river. He admitted, actually Nicholas' idea is not too bad.
Only, he felt uneasy as Nicholas looked at him fixedly with his annoying mischievous smile.
"So you're forcing me to come with you here just because you need a friend to relax?" tanya Dara started the conversation, after the waiter delivered Nicholas' order.
"I don't need a friend to relax. But you," answered Nicholas casually.
"Sok knows very well," murmured Dara slowly. But, he slightly justified Nicholas' speech. During her stay in Edinburgh, Dara was always pursued by college, work, and all things that could not make her relax.
"What did you say (What did you say)?" asked Nicholas who did not understand Dara's murmur.
"Nothing's." Dara throws a look out. Snow started to fall. Beautiful like cotton grains floating in the air blown by the wind.
Fortunately, the maid uniform he was wearing was quite closed, complete with stockings to dispel the cold air at his feet. Although, it was not very capable of protecting his body from the cold.
What a sight so spoiling the eyes. For a while Dara just quietly enjoyed the atmosphere of Leith Riverside night, regardless of Nicholas who was in front of her.
"How much did you get tonight?" nicholas asked Dara.
"Huh?"
"How much are you paying tonight?"
"He's a hundred pounds."
Nicholas took the wallet out of his pants pocket and took ten pieces of pounds. "I changed your salary tonight, plus a bonus to keep me company."
Dara's eyes are round. "What do you mean accompany you? You think I'm ...."
"That's not what I meant, Dara. I mean, accompany me for a walk here. Why do you always think badly of me?" grouch Nicholas.
Dara hissing. He did not immediately accept the money given by Nicholas, because he suspected the young man was planning something.
"Get it," asked Nicholas as he pushed the bill closer to Dara.
"You must be setting me up."
"There's no point in trapping you. Come, Dara. Take the money."
Dara glanced at the reddish-colored stack of paper. A thousand pounds is not a little. Twice his salary in a month.
"Take, Dara. Don't be shy," chuckle Nicholas.
Dara hesitated to take the money on the table and put it in her clothing pocket. "Thanks" he said softly.
"I hope you won't be angry with me again for taking you away from that boring party."
"Why were you at the party?" ask Dara. He was curious why Nicholas came to the gala dinner of politicians and nobles Edinburgh.
"The forcing mother." Nicholas answered with a mouth full of food.
"Why do you care about me? When I'm having trouble with a woman I accidentally flush her dress?" ask Dara later.
"Who cares about you? I just saw an opportunity to escape from there," lulled Nicholas as he sipped his warm teacup.
Dara hissing. He expected it. Nicholas only cares about himself. It was impossible for the young man to have a noble purpose of saving himself from the curse of the woman.
"That means my decision is right not to thank you" said Dara.
"I'm kidding" said Nicholas. "The reason is because I feel sorry for you. Your face is pale, your skinny body is trembling. Yeah, like that."
After finishing eating food, Nicholas took Dara for a walk along the riverside. The conversation both just flowed. From there Dara found out, that Nicholas' life, despite his wealth, turned out to be very boring.
"You should always be troublemaking with anyone. You lack work," said Dara.
"But I'm not a bad guy, Dara."
"Not evil but annoying and crazy."
"It's still better, isn't it?" nicholas Kekuh.
Dara put her shoulders down. He spreads his eyes around him. This place is so much fun. Many couples spend time together.
"Wait," said Dara while holding back Nicholas. His eyes were looking out at the chair under the tree. There were two humans there, clutching each other's lips.
"Hey, you've never seen anyone kiss, have you?" ask Nicholas.
"They ...." Throat's choked. Braden and Alison. They're here, and they're kissing.
"You why?" ask Nicholas in astonishment. Dara stood staring at the lovers who were combining love.
Dara turned her body and walked away. The astonished Nicholas chased after the girl in a hurry.
"Hey, Dara! You why?"
Dara did not answer. He stopped his steps and propped his body up on the guardrail. His head was bowed in lethargy.
"Hey, Strange Girl, I asked you, what's wrong with you?" Nicholas leaned over and examined Dara's face hidden behind her black hair.
Dara wiped away the tears she was unable to bear. The girl cried, and made Nicholas even more confused.
"Become? What are you doing? Why are you crying all of a sudden?"
Dara shakes. He sat on the floor slapping his face on his knees. His body was still shaken with tears.
"Who were you looking at? Your boyfriend? Your girlfriend kissed another woman?" nicholas Kekuh. The young man positioned himself beside Dara.
"Shut up!" snapped Dara.
Nicholas. "So right, huh? Your boyfriend cheated?"
"Gee!" Dara hits Nicholas on the shoulder. "He's not my girlfriend" he said later.
"If not your girlfriend why should I cry?"
Dara wiped away the tears and snot with the back of her hand. He looked at Nicholas with a face. "I've loved it for a long time" she cried. He hid his face between his knees.
"So, now your love is clapping one hand?" ask Nicholas. He tried to hold his laugh.
"You're happy to see me sad, aren't you?" accuse Dara.
"No. I'm so sorry, '" said Nicholas, holding his smile.
Dara felt so sick seeing Braden kiss Alison a while ago. The guess is right, they're back together. There was no longer any hope for him to express his feelings for Braden. And what makes him so sad is, maybe he can't spend time with Braden anymore now, even if it's just a walk around Edinburgh.
Dara gasped as something blew away the cold air in her body. When he lifted his face, he found Nicholas' suit had moved on his body.
