146. Couvade Syndromes

As the day progresses and Leon's condition improves, Leon and Yeni prepare to go to the hospital. But when Yeni sprayed her favorite perfume, Leon again felt nauseous.

" Huek huek" Leon covered his mouth and nose.

" Why are you?" ask Yeni.

" What perfume do you wear. It smelled bad " said Leon still closing his mouth and nose.

" It's the perfume I used to wear" replied Yeni.

" Don't wear that perfume again. It smells to me nauseous" Leon said.

"Usually no papa. Strange I am pregnant even you are nauseous" said Yeni.

" Yes, I know ", Leon answered.

" Yes, that's it. Let's go. Doctor Sinta must have been waiting for us ", said Yeni.

Leon and Yeni had indeed made an appointment with Doctor Sinta for the examination that day. The same obgyn doctor as Tya while pregnant with her child.

Leon and Yeni go to the Wicaksono family hospital by car.

After thirty minutes of travel, Leon and Yeni finally arrived at the hospital. They went straight to Doctor Sinta's room.

Tok to tok.

Yeni knocked on the door of the room.

" In" came a voice from inside.

Yeni opens the door and enters it followed by Leon.

" Good morning doc" Yeni told Doctor Sinta.

" Good afternoon "reply Doctor Sinta stood up from her seat and smiled.

" Please sit down, miss sir" said Doctor Sinta, inviting Leon and Yeni to sit down.

" Thank you doc" said Yeni.

Leon and Yeni sit down at Doctor Sinta.

" As you have explained earlier and you have done the test using tespeck is most likely you are pregnant. Have there been any complaints lately that you've been feeling ?" ask Doctor Sinta.

Leon heard it surprised. " Why did you say ?" leon whispered to Yeni.

" Let's know why" replied Yeni.

Doctor Sinta smiled. " What complaints have you been through, sir? " ask Doctor Sinta to Leon.

" Nausea, dizziness, and limp" replied Leon briefly.

" One more doc. My husband was suddenly nauseous when he smelled perfume ", Yeni continued.

" It looks like Mr. Leon has couvade syndrome" said Dr. Sinta.

" What is that?" ask Leon.

" Couvade syndrome or also often called sympathetic pregnancy is where the husband whose wife is pregnant can feel complaints that are usually felt by pregnant women. Even sometimes the husbands can feel the cravings " replied Doctor Sinta explained.

" What will last long?" ask Leon again.

" Soften such complaints only occur in the first trimester of pregnancy which is around the age of the womb for one to three months" replied Dr. Sinta.

" Is there anything you want to ask again before we do the examination?" said Doctor Sinta.

" Hmm what during pregnancy can do that doc?" asked Yeni while lowering her head in embarrassment.

Doctor Sinta smiled understanding Yeni's intentions. " That's fine. But not too often during the first trimester. At least once a week " replied Doctor Sinta.

" Can't it be more often?" said Leon.

Yeni pinched Leon's stomach upon hearing that. He was already quite embarrassed because he had dared to ask such a thing to Doctor Sinta. Leon doesn't care about Yeni. He even became excited to consult with Doctor Sinta.

" In order not to harm the fetus do not be too often first yes sir. Do not forget to also make a comfortable and safe position so that the mother and fetus are not depressed " replied Dr. Sinta.

" Well I'll hold off on not doing that" Leon said.

Yeni was embarrassed by Leon. He lowered his head because his face was now red.
