Misunderstand Again

Three days' stay at the apartment, this afternoon Steven and Sheila returned home. The relationship between Steven and Sheila has improved.

Sheila seems to be busy cooking in the kitchen, with the help of Bik Minah and Mbak Siti. Steven asked Sheila to cook the capcay and shrimp balado for dinner this time. Sheila returned to the room to clean up.

Dinner this time was quiet as usual. And finished eating, as usual Sheila also cleaned the dinner table and washed the dirty dishes. Steven and Papa Ricko have gone into the workspace to discuss work issues.

Amelia suddenly comes and pulls Sheila's hand, leading her towards the garden behind the house. Sheila was only able to comply when her mother-in-law pulled her away.

"Basar women do not know themselves. The more you see yes. Apparently the warning from me yesterday was just you think of the wind then, huh," snapped Amelia after jerking Sheila's hand violently.

"What do you mean by Mama?" sheila did not understand.

"Don't pretend to be stupid. What poison have you given Steven until Steven can make the decision to leave Nila?" amelia asked getting louder.

"Sorry Ma, but really, Sheila doesn't know anything Ma" Sheila replied.

"Don't lie. The basic destroyer of people's relationships" exclaimed Amelia then raised her right hand about to slap Sheila's cheek.

Sheila had already closed her eyes, preparing to receive a slap from her mother-in-law. But without them both guessing, Steven caught Amelia's right hand hanging in the air.

"Mama!!!" prevent Steven while holding his mother's hand in the air, making Sheila and Amelia both shocked.

Steven was down, wanting to ask Sheila to make him a fruit salad. I don't know why Steven suddenly wants to eat Sheila's fruit salad again tonight. But when he was about to step into the kitchen Steven saw his mother pull Sheila's hand a little rough out of the kitchen. Curious Steven followed him.

"What did Mama do?" steven asked after releasing Amelia's hand. "Why would you slap Sheila? Sheila's wrong what's Ma?"

"The mistake is that he has influenced you so much that you cut off your relationship with Nila. Mama didn't accept that. Nila yesterday called Mama while crying Steve. Mama does not have the heart, Mama pity him," explained Amelia while putting on her sad face hoping Steven melted and defended her.

Beyond suspicion Steven actually laughed blandly.

"That's how smart that woman looks in front of Mama."

"What do you mean Steve?" amelia asked not to understand.

"Originally Mama knew, it was Nila who had betrayed Steven Ma."

"Don't talk your crap Steve if there's no evidence" said Amelia still emotionless.

"Mom want proof? Come with Steven Ma."

Steven clasped his mother's hand and pulled her slowly.

"Come on Shei" he asked as he turned to Sheila.

Sheila closed the door slowly. Steven seemed to be looking for something in his briefcase.

"Look at this Ma" Steven said, handing over the photos he got the other day to his mother.

Amelia looked at the photos one by one with perfectly rounded eyes and a slightly open mouth.

"Even Steven saw with Steven's own eyes when Nila was having sex with Joe, his photographer, inside Nila Ma's apartment" Steven continued in a poignant tone.

Like being struck by lightning Amelia was so surprised to hear Steven's words. Amelia covered her mouth with both hands.

"That can't be Steve."

"But that's the truth Ma. And what Steven just found out, it turns out that Nila has been in a long relationship with Joe behind Steven."

Amelia still showed her surprise. Sheila could only quietly listen.

"Steven was very disappointed Ma. Steven was devastated. And it was Sheila who always accompanied Steven when Steven was down. So it's wrong for Mama to blame Sheila Ma."

Amelia fell silent, unable to say anything. Still digesting all this reality he just knew. His mind was empty. Still to her surprise Amelia stepped out of her son's room with a shunt. Not he thought, Nila who had been excited as a dream daughter-in-law turned out to be able to do something like this.

"Wasn't pa-pa?" sheila asked gently while holding onto Steven's arm.

Steven just shook his head slowly and smiled wryly.

"Please excuse me Mama ya Shei."

"Mama is not wrong. He was just worried about me."

"But Mama shouldn't be so rude to you like that."

"Mama was being rude because she was emotional Mas."

"All because of Nila. Very clever woman looking face in front of Mama."

"Oh, don't extend it again. We pray yuk, let's get that rest. I think I'm tired," Sheila said.

"But I still have some unfinished work Shei. Oh yes, later after prayer please make me a fruit salad. Suddenly I want to eat your fruit salad again" pinta Steven.

Sheila smiled gently. "Yes, I'll make it. Now we pray first."

Steven nodded. The two then went into the bathroom to take ablution water and then perform congregational prayers.
