CHAPTER 2: The Ex-Girlfriend

The sound of alarms ringing loudly in my ears. Quickly my hand grabbed the alarm clock that was on the small table near the bed. I pressed the off button to turn off the alarm.

Well, it's five o'clock in the morning. I pray first ah..

Uh, just remembered my sister Zuri was still sleeping on the side. I pulled the blanket and clapped his hands.

"Zuri, get up.., it's five o'clock, pray yuk," I asked while tugging at his feet.

"Hmmm.., still sleepy Brother, Brother first," whine Zuri still with her eyes closed.

"Come on! We'll be late for school" I said, pulling his leg.

Zuri kept quiet and continued her sleep. I rushed out to the bathroom to wash my face, brush my teeth and ablution.

Upon returning to the room, I saw Zuri still sleeping.

I take mukena and pray. After I finished praying, I started checking books one by one to study today at school.

Almost forgot to put a sports shirt in a bag. And just remember, today is the last day of sports because it will face the final exam of School.

"Zuri! Wake up, I'll be late to school because I'm waiting for you," I said a little angry.

I went downstairs and found Mama preparing breakfast.

It was my mother's habit to prepare breakfast before taking a shower.

Oiya, my Papa Mama works in one of the municipal government agencies, where we live today. So, my house was empty when everyone left for work and school. Only on Sundays we can gather together with the whole day.

I went up to the second floor and saw Zuri already wearing her School uniform.

"Sister, I borrowed the bracelet yes," Zuri said as she rushed down the stairs.

I just kept quiet and went to the bathroom.

After finishing the bath and getting dressed neatly, I pulled the bag and went down to join Papa, Mama, Zuri at the dinner table for breakfast.

After breakfast, Mama drove the two of us to school, I happened to be at the same school as Zuri. Zuri's first grade High School and I'm third grade.

Arriving at School, we greet Mama's hands first, then get out of the car. Zuri and I walked straight to each other's classes.

Thankfully it's not too late.

The first hour of school is a sports lesson. My classmates and I were on a basketball court in the middle of the school building.

With my moderate stature, not all basketballs can be put in the ring. Or maybe I'm not an expert at basketball. In sports, I can only play badminton.

"For those who have entered the ball, you can rest first while waiting for the next lesson" said my sports teacher.

I went to class and was a little nervous when I saw someone who had been my boyfriend.

He's Vincent, he's talking to my friend.

I looked around, why are the other friends gathering here? This is my class.

I saw Vincent go out of class and the friend he was talking to came up to me.

Vincent was my first guy. Our relationship only lasted a month. We rarely meet and talk together. Although my relationship with Vincent was short, the feeling still exists.

I remember those days when I first met Vincent.

Starting on the day of the end of the first grade of High School exam, our School was surprised by the existence of Raflesia flower plants. The location is not too far from the school.

That afternoon I was invited by friends to see the Raflesia flowers, walking after school. I agree with the invitation, because in addition to being curious, the day of the exam is over and tomorrow we have a holiday.

I walk with my classmates, we chat and laugh together. Feeling tired, I walked slowly and left behind with my friend Ratna.

"Zanu! Get to know my friends from first grade" Dice introduced us.

Ratna and I are nervous, we're looking at Dice. We're acquainted. He put his hand out to me first.

"Vincent," he said while looking at me.

I looked down for a moment and was a little embarrassed. I felt something magical when he saw me. Without realizing it, his hands clasped for quite a while.

What happened to Vincent?

"Hey Vincent! Long time that hand, others also want acquaintances," said Dice with a laugh.

"Eh.., uh sorry," replied Vincent nervously as he pulled his hand.

Everyone laughed at Vincent. After everyone met, I saw Vincent approaching his friend named Bambang.

"Bang, you're on my bike. I'm walking there with Dice and her friend, and you'll just wait at the location" Vincent said.

"okay.. Come Oki, Ferdo we first," said Bambang while inviting his two friends to hurry from there while riding Vincent's motorcycle.

"Lho, you want to walk there, Vinc?" ask Dice.

"Yes, let's get closer to chatting with Zanu," Vincent replied as he glanced at me.

During the trip, I was quieter. Vincent walks right next to me, he talks more with Dice and once with Ratna.

Arriving at the location, it was seen that Vincent's friends were waiting there. There were many people besides my Schoolmates at the place, they were enthusiastic to see a rare flower that could grow in the area that is Raflesia.

After being satisfied to look around, Ratna and I went home first. When he went to Dice, he saw the look on Vincent's disappointed face, he kept looking at me until my figure was lost on the road.

"Zanu!!" yell my friend Ratna.

I was shocked and almost heard Ratna's scream. Instantly my daydreams were broken.

"What's wrong, Rat, just be surprised! Don't yell that," I said a little annoyed.

"That's.., your sister Zuri is having a toothache again, she's crying in the UKS room. You go there, "Ratna replied in an innocent tone.

"Ooo.., thank you, I went there first," I said as I rushed out and walked over to the UKS room.

Upon arrival in the UKS room, I read my greetings and entered. There was already Master accompanying Zuri who was moaning in pain.

"Sister, my teeth hurt, my gums started swelling. I want to go home, Brother," whined Zuri while holding her cheek.

"Let Mother take care of it later, you just take Zuri's bag in class and you stay here until your brother comes. I want to go to Teacher's room, you just go home," said Teacher.

The teacher walked out of the UKS room. While I went to Zuri's class.

When I was in Zuri's class, I looked for her bags, because I didn't know where Zuri was sitting.

I saw a light purple bag perched on the back corner seat. I immediately picked up Zuri's bag and looked out the window for a while looking for the class leader, the figure I did not find.

It turns out that at the same time, Zuri class also has sports hours. All of his friends were outside the classroom.

I went out and wanted to go to my class in a hurry. I accidentally hit Vincent.

I'm shocked! With a reflex Vincent held and pulled my hand. I was silent and stunned to see his face right in front of me.

"Be careful, thankfully you didn't fall" Vincent said softly and softly. Seen within his bead of eyes, there was a longing bias there. Yes, he still has that feeling for me.

I rushed to class and picked up my bag.

"Where are you going Zanu?" Ratna.

"I want to take Zuri home, my permission is taken care of Bu Yossi. I go first, yes" I replied as I walked towards the exit.

Zuri and I are finally home. All the way, I was thinking about Vincent.
