Prince | Chapter 9
After receiving a reprimand from Anne, Alice only worked to cook the Prince's food. Finished cooking, the woman would not deliver the food to the Prince's private room and had to confine herself in the room.
The woman did not dare to leave the room as Anne had ordered. He still had to rethink his closeness to the Prince of Erland who was hindered by social strata.
Plus, Alice was just an orphan who would not be able to be equal to the royal family. It made her heart even more sick and crying all day was the best way to vent her sadness.
This morning, Anne helped Alice to deliver breakfast to Prince Erland's room. It certainly made Prince Erland feel strange and finally asked, “Why are you delivering food? Where is Alice going?”
Anne lowered her head and calmly replied, “I'm sorry, Your Highness the Prince. I need Alice's help to prepare for His Majesty's banquet with the ministers. Alice is now very busy, and I took the initiative to replace her temporary duties.”
Hearing Anne's explanation, Prince Erland nodded. However, in his heart, the Prince felt disappointed because he could not meet his lover after last night through a night together.
The prince was forced to enjoy the food brought by Anne. Although it was true that Alice's cooking was, Prince Erland was dissatisfied. Breakfast this time there was no smile of Alice and her timid face that always made Prince Erland palpitate.
Since today the Prince of Erland has an assignment outside, Alice does not need to cook for lunch. However, by evening the Prince's entourage had returned and Alice had to prepare dinner.
The girl cooked as usual, but her face looked gloomy and so sad. It apparently sparked the curiosity of a waiter who was quite close to Alice in the kitchen.
“Why are you, Alice?” ask Alice's coworker, a fellow kitchen waiter.
Alice looked at the girl with a nervous face. “Ah, I do not why, why?”
Alice's friend then said that Alice's face now looks pale. She was worried that Alice was sick and said she didn't have to work.
However, Alice explains that she is fine. He couldn't possibly tell honestly what was currently making a burden on Alice's head.
Once she finished cooking, Anne immediately took over the food to be delivered to Prince Erland. This again made Alice's friend suspicious.
The girl could not help but be curious. He made sure the surroundings were safe, then again asked Alice, “Why is Anne now delivering food to the Prince's room?”
Alice smiled without explaining. “You don't have to find out. The more things you know, the greater the danger of asking for you! I go to the room first, I feel a little unwell.”
Alice's friend looked confused. Didn't Alice say she's okay a moment ago. Why did he say he wasn't feeling well?
However, Alice's warning was true as well. In this magnificent palace, the more one knew something that was not supposed to be, the less chance one would have to live with what one knew.
Anne again brought food to the Prince's room. He again made a well-crafted excuse before facing the Prince.
However, one day became two days, and two days became three days with a thousand reasons given by Anne. It made Prince Erland realize something was wrong.
Negative thoughts instantly haunted Prince Erland. He guessed that Alice was avoiding him at this moment.
The prince immediately pondered what had happened. Is there something wrong with his behavior? Did she offend Alice with her aggressiveness that night?
“Is it possible that Alice deliberately avoided because I was too imposing a will to date? I never even asked Alice's opinion of me? Is it all because of that?” muttered the Prince who seemed to be thinking out loud.
However, the more thought out, Prince Erland grew increasingly frustrated and made his day's work unfinished. Upon returning to his room, the Prince ordered the bodyguards to call Anne.
The woman went to see Prince Erland as she was told. There was also the Prince's Assistant and a few bodyguards standing guard inside the Prince's room.
“Your Majesty called me?” anne asked with a calm face.
“Tell Alice to come here!”
Anne immediately panicked to hear the orders of Prince Erland who must have felt suspicious.
“Em, Your Grace. Actually ... actually Alice was in the hall ...”
“Enough, Anne!” Prince Erland kicked the table in a rage.
That made Anne even more frightened. His heart was pounding and his knees were shaking. This time, how do you deal with the Prince?
“Don't make a lot of excuses, Anne! I know all your reasons it's just a lie. Tell me honestly what happened with Alice, because I already know everything!” The Prince's hand that had been pounding the table, now clenched perfectly to make his jaw harden.
Actually Prince Erland just moaned. However, it turned out that it made Anne even more frightened and finally encouraged her to speak honestly.
“Actually, I told Alice to stay away from the Prince!”
Prince Erland, who had only wanted to bully, did not expect to hear Anne's confession. His eyes began to narrow, like an eagle aiming at its prey.
“I know that His Highness the Prince has a relationship with Alice. I also know that that night Alice slept with Her Majesty,” I am Anne with a vibrating voice.
Not enough to get there, the woman tried to advise the Prince about his relationship with Alice who was only a servant.
“Please Your Highness the Prince remembers His Majesty's status as a prince in this kingdom. Please let Alice go because I really feel sorry for Alice. If His Majesty the King and the people knew, it would not be His Highness the Prince who would be burdened, but it would be Alice who would bear all the consequences on her own.”
Anne said it all with tears in her eyes. He really pityed Alice's fate after this. However, Anne forgot that now it was her who was at the edge of a dangerous abyss.
The Prince's expression instantly became dark and terrifying. Anne finally realized and felt the Prince would kill her after this.
The woman knelt down and begged Prince Erland to forgive Anne and release Alice.
However, Prince Erland replied with a loud voice and said, “You should also remember who you are and what your position is, Anne! On what basis do you say such a presumptuous thing? Who are you to determine which is right and break off my own relationship with Alice?”
Prince Erland looked enraged, and he immediately told his personal assistant to drag Anne. “Bring him and shut his mouth!”
