Chapter 69. Otherworldly

“So, I heard that your factory had a disaster. What happened?” ask Arthur.

Being asked like that, made Elona sigh long. “My factory exploded in the early morning. Luckily, there were no casualties. But, all the equipment was damaged and a portion of the soybean supplies had been destroyed. Then.. found the arrow that bolted the exhaust gas pipe, then the gas was ignited with fire, and there was a fire.”

“What?! The insolent!! Then how now?” Arthur becomes furious to hear the story of Elona. “Do I need to give up all my people to find the culprit? I'll take him straight to jail!!”

“Ah, no! No need!” the girl prevented it.

Elona looked at Arthur for a moment in silence. His status as a wealthy duke has been revealed, and Elona already suspects that Arthur will use the power of his office for her sake. While still in disguise, he deployed some of his soldiers to help in the fields. Especially now, when the man had no need to hide anything else from Elona.

“Why? Let me help, let it all unfold!”

“No need, thanks. Besides, I already know who it is. And I already know the reason why he did it.”

“You... know who it is?” Arthur scrunched his forehead.

“Capacitive healed yes. I-I go home first!”

Elona who blushed embarrassed saying goodbye while stammering, then ran away leaving Arthur who was still sculpting. David passed by in front of his room, which was left open by Elona.

“Young Master, your room door is open like this, then catch a cold! Mister?”

David goes into his young master's room, and finds Arthur staking with a drop of blood on his nose. Before long, his employer fainted in bed.

“Waah... Was this the same Miss Elona? Got a big blow like.”

A week later, the conference hall, in the royal palace.

The atmosphere of the conference hall had been filled with high nobles as the court council. His Majesty King Valcke has also been on the seat of his magistrate. In this Lightz Kingdom, if there is a problem among ordinary citizens, then the decision of the court is in the hands of the territory leader. However, if the problem is between nobles, then the court will be held in this conference hall, and His Majesty the King will immediately intervene to give a verdict.

The judges' seats and the court board occupy the front row of seats, facing the audience and also three podiums in the middle of the room. The ones called to the middle podium are the victims. On the left there is also a podium for where the suspect is based. On the right side of the room is a podium for witnesses. On the right and left side of the ridge bordering the wall there is seating for the audience.

Stefan and Iris had been sitting in the row of audience seats. Arthur Eckart and Louis Vandyke were also present.

“Lady Kiara Perez, welcome to enter.”

His Majesty King Valcke called the suspect into the room. Kiara appeared as the two door leaves of the hall were opened, displaying slightly dirty clothes as the girl had been languishing in jail for a full day before.

Kiara entered with both hands tied in front of her stomach, escorted by two soldiers. Kiara entered the left podium, and the two soldiers kept the podium tight from behind.

Everyone immediately whispered as soon as Kiara Perez entered the room. And of course, a very surprised face came from Louis Vandyke, because until the last second Elona did not want to tell who he suspected as the perpetrator of the factory explosion.

The audience is expected to be calm, because we will start the trial.” the king disperse the chatter and whispers from the audience.

“The reason you are in this court is because you are a suspect from the detonation of the factory belonging to Lady Elona Locke. Please swear by the people of Lightz Kingdom that you will answer all questions honestly.”

“I swear.”

“Then let's start with the statement from the victim, Lady Elona Locke herself. Please progress to podium.”

Elona advanced to the center podium as soon as the king called her, then began to give a statement.

“About two weeks ago, I got word that my soybean factory had an explosion in the early hours of the morning. There were no fatalities, but it still gave me a huge loss as the entire equipment was damaged and the raw material inventory became destroyed from being engulfed in flames.

Then, with the help of my brother, Stefan Locke, we were able to find that there were two arrows fired from a distance to hole the exhaust gas pipe and make the gas leak.”

Elona explained at length. One of the court council members issued both arrows as evidence.

The king asked again, “Then, what makes you so sure that Lady Kiara Perez is the culprit? Because here I see, in both arrows there is no sign that pointed to Lady Perez as the culprit.”

“I'm sure he did, because I had a little fight with him before. I did not grant his request to free Louis from work in the fields.”

“What's so right, Lady Perez?” King Valcke asked Kiara the question, which she rejected outright.

“It is true that I was angry because he did not listen to my request. But that doesn't mean I did the blasting! I have a witness, my servant, who saw me fall asleep at that!”

“Alright.” king cleared his throat for a moment before proceeding, “Call a companion servant from Lady Perez.”

The servant entered the witness podium. After taking the oath, she made a testimony that right from the night before until the explosion occurred, Kiara was always in her room and did not come out of the room in the slightest.

“Do you say honestly about this?” the king confirmed.

“I dare swear on behalf of my parents and Gods!” said the waiter, before he was finally welcome to get off the podium.

“How, Lady Elona Locke? On what grounds do you accuse Lady Perez of being the suspected perpetrator of the blasting?” ask the king back.

“I guessed it, if Kiara has an alibi.” said Elona with calmness that still remains the same. “Because he could have paid someone to do it.”

“What?! Don't accuse me recklessly! I didn't do anything!” shout Kiara.

“Quiet! Everyone calm!” King Valcke knocked his magistrate's hammer twice. “Lady Locke, are you ready to take responsibility for your allegations if Lady Perez is found not guilty?”

“I am ready, Your Majesty, because I am sure, there will be no one else who can do the blasting unless he.” replied Elona in a pressing tone. His Majesty was immediately interested to hear more.

“Why are you so sure he did it?”

“That's because... I know, that Kiara Perez is from another world!”

“What?!”
