Chapters 20. Red Scrub

"Louis! Louis!"

Louis, who was in the corridor of the school, turned towards the owner of the voice, Kiara. The girl was running towards him with a roll of newsprint in hand.

"What's wrong? Why are you running around like that?" asked the man curious. Kiara responded with a cheerful smile that she could not hide.

"Read on!"

Louis scrunched his forehead in astonishment, then took the newspaper out of Kiara's hands. The man opened the scroll and read it.

"The engagement of Louis Vandyke and Elona Locke was annulled.... what?!"

The paper says the news is clear about Louis Vandyke's breakup with Elona Locke. There, Stefan Locke was the speaker.

'The 'incompatibility' was the main reason for the engagement to end, according to the source. Even though Louis himself knew that wasn't the real reason. But it seems Stefan was asked by Elona to say so so that no controversy continues.

Why did the news get to this newspaper?!

"Louis, now we can be together right?" kiara asked expectantly, while wringing the man's arm. While Louis was still deep in thought.

Art nodded, "I've never met a noble girl who would work as hard as you."

Hearing that, Elona laughed, "That's nothing special, hahaha!'

Elona sighed for a moment, then turned her gaze towards the lake.

"Art, do you believe in second life?" elona asked while looking at the lake.

The young man frowned not understanding, "Second life? Meanin?"

"It's like coming back to life.I've been given life once again, and I won't waste it. I want to change my life to be more useful to many people. Especially after breaking up with Louis, I..."

Elona's words stopped because she remembered her former fiance. The news of their breakup engagement must have spread to the capital.

Art brought his face closer slowly to the girl. Elona was surprised that suddenly the young man's face was so close to his, only about a finger away.

The man's breath was so warm it hit Elona's face. The girl felt the heat from within her body, as if all the blood was rushing towards her face, creating a red tinge on her cheek. Art's body sat so close that the arms of the two touched each other. Time stopped not wanting to beat. The young man's lips were so close to Elona's.

"Art...?"

Art realized that he had come so close to Elona. He was a hunter, he acted according to instinct. And his instincts say, if Elona was his prey, if only the girl had not awakened her consciousness by calling her name.

"There's me." Art said, with the distance of the face only one inch from Elona. "If you are sad when you remember your ex, just remember me so you can smile again!"

Elona pushed Art's body away, accompanied by a cheerful laugh from her mouth. "If I remember you, I'll smile, will I?"

"Yep!"

"Hahaha, okay! I'll keep you in mind then, hahaha!" Elona kept laughing.

Before long, a soldier called his young lady home.

As soon as Art saw Elona's body had gone away from the shore of the lake, the man immediately immersed his face into the lake water. And he did it many times, to reduce the heat that appeared on his face, which he had been holding back when Elona was nearby.

The same red spray on Elona's face also appeared on the man's face. Even more red, than the girl.

"Basic Arthur is stupid! Shit!" he yelled cursing himself and covered his face with one hand. "What the fuck was that just now?! Why am I so unconscious that I did that?!!"

Arthur is a hunter, and he himself knows that he may not know the limits when hunting his prey. Arthur was afraid that something bad would happen if he continued to follow his instincts when dealing with Elona.

"Control yourself, Arthur!" he said as he patted his own cheek. "Control yourself!"
