Nanda went into Fiki's room.
“Eh.”
“Did I surprise you?”
Fiki nodded with a smile seeing Nanda coming into her room.
Fiki recalled Salma calling Nanda, yesterday she forgot to say that.
“Really?”
“Iya, she asked you to call back.”
“Ah she can go berserk like this.” Nanda said she was worried that Salma had contacted her because of something important. He immediately reached into his suit pocket to grab a cell phone.
“Halo, Assalamu’alaikum.” I heard Salma get the call.
“Wa’alaikumussalam.” Nanda while giving a code to Fiki that he must immediately stay away because he does not want to be heard while chatting with his friend.
Seeing Nanda give such a code, Fiki flicked her hand as if to drive Nanda away to leave her. Nanda chose to return to her room.
“What is Salma, sorry Fiki just told me that yesterday you called.”
“Hmm, now you are busy yes, it has been a few days you have not contacted me.” Salma with disappointed tone.
“Didn't you do that too. Just yesterday you called me.”
“Haha can you avoid being blamed.”
“Why should I accept? Haha”
“Hmm.”
Salma remembered Fiki who received her call yesterday. Although not so caring but as a friend of course he was curious why his friend's phone can be in the hands of men.
“Oiya, why was your phone yesterday on Fiki?“
“I dropped it.”
“Why with him? Don't tell me because he's the only person you know there?” Salma was half introgating.
“Is there something I don't know?” Further.
Nanda bit her lower lip when she heard her friend was looking for her with a question. He was confused which question to answer first.
“I'm dating Fiki.”
Actually already from about two months ago, Fiki expressed his feelings to Nanda. He asks Nanda to get in touch with him. Because Nanda was also happy when she was with Fiki, she happily accepted the invitation.
“What? Why don't you tell me” Salma sounded annoyed even though she wasn't really that because she expected this.
“I'm sorry for just now telling you.”
“May you guys last yes, actually I've been a little suspicious.”
“Really?”
“Haha, you are really not good at hiding anything from me.”
“Tak what haha.”
“Oiya yesterday you need what to call me?” Nanda.
Salma also told him that she met Malik again and said Malik was close to Tari who was none other than her High School friend.
“Malik didn't even look at me.” Salma said as she was telling a story, she remembered Malik did not even look at her when he first met yesterday.
“I'm sure you'll find someone who's the best. We don't know maybe he's trying too.” Nanda tried to calm down.
“Excuse doctor Salma.” Knock someone behind Salma's door.
“Something seems to call me, it's a long time ago yeah, see you. Wassalamu’alaikum.”
“Oke Wa’alaikumussalam.”
Salma hung up.
“Iya please enter.”
A nurse came into his room and put a ballpoint pen on his desk.
“This, yesterday the doctor dropped it.”
“Oh thank you Ristia.” Salma said to the nurse she also knew.
“I was asked by a man to return it to the doctor because the doctor was far away.”
“Iya doc.”
Salma thought it was impossible for the man who found the ballpoint pen to be someone who worked in the hospital because if so, it would be they themselves who would return it and most likely this nurse also knew him. And it is also impossible that the man was someone else who did not know him because he knew his name when he asked the nurse to return it to him.
Salma remembered yesterday that she had crossed paths with Malik. “What is it?” Salma Mumbles.
“What's the doc?” Ask the nurse who was still standing in front of him.
“Ah is okay.”
“I excuse doc.”
Salma nodded as she stood delivering him to the front door. “Thank you.”
“Sama-sama.” The nurse replied and left.
As Salma wanted to close the door of her room again, someone called her and made her turn to the source of the voice.
“Fadil.”
Fadil came to Salma, he wanted to talk to her.
“Are you busy?”
Salma silently did not answer.
“Can I talk to you for a minute?” Ask again.
“Can.”
Fadil asks Salma to follow him to the cafeteria on the ground floor of the hospital.
“Do I bother you?” Said Fadil while in the elevator.
“No.” Salma sounded a little flattered.
Salma had no idea what made Fadil want to talk to her. Although they were ex-fiancees, Salma knew Fadil was good to her, knowing why Fadil had asked her father to cancel their engagement at the time. He said the reason they wanted to separate because they didn't fit in with each other wasn't just because Salma actually liked other people.
Arriving at the cafeteria, Salma and Fadil sat opposite. Fadil ordered a drink for Salma. And after a while of waiting, he came carrying drinks in both hands.
“This.” Fadil held out his hand which was holding a glass filled with drinks.
“Thank you.” Salma.
This is the second time Salma and Fadil have been at the table since they got engaged yesterday. This time they felt more awkward than the first time together. Mareka both absorb the drink while looking at the street view from the glass wall of the hospital canteen.
“What's up?” Salma asked after soaking up her drink and waiting for Fadil who never started.
“How are you related to him?”
Fadil was curious how Salma's relationship with the people he liked at that time was the reason they were not together. Not to regret, he just wanted to know.
“Hah?”
“Not you said you liked someone else?”
Salma closed her eyes, remembering her belief at that time in her feelings for Malik. He exhaled violently aware of the present reality that was impartial to him in the slightest of ways over his feelings back then and probably until now.
“I'm not with him.” Said Salma while stirring her drink, she felt uninspired.
“I'm sorry. I also seem to be so.” Fadil looks the same, also seems uninspired.
“Why? What happened to you” Salma saw Fadil.
Fadil recounts that after her engagement to Salma was nullified, she returned with her ex-boyfriend. They get better when they get back together and up to a few months they steadily decide to get married. However, Fadil did not get the blessing of his parents because he had problems in the past with his girlfriend's parents.
Hearing that, Salma was surprised unexpectedly. I never imagined they would have a similar problem. Salma and Fadil both did not get the blessing of their parents to be with someone they chose.
“I'm like that too.” Salma said, closing her mouth.
“What?” Fadil also never thought they had the same problem.
“I'm sorry, because of me you are like this too.” Salma felt guilty for her selfishness.
“Tak nothing, maybe this is already our way.” Fadil looked at Salma smiling. At first he didn't want to tell Salma much less blame her. He just wants to know Salma.
Seeing Fadil who was not like blaming him, Salma also smiled and tried to encourage himself and the person in front of him.
“We will definitely find our happiness later.” He smiled at Fadil.
Fadil also smiled.
In the distance, Malik sees Salma with Fadil who seems to be smiling at each other. “She is happy.” His mind, then continued his steps into the hospital.
