HIM, MY BEST FRIEND

HIM, MY BEST FRIEND
S2 Old Stories

"Have you come, Dr Rin?" Doctor Eagle greeted me as we met at the child's poly intersection.

"L-yes," I tried to cover the tears that were still on my cheeks.

He looked at me weird.

Sister Shinta who was following Doctor Eagle reminded that they should hurry to the VIP treatment room.

"I go first, yes," he nodded and quickened his pace towards the room in question.

I nodded and walked over to the general poly.

This morning my heart was not broken. What the hell just happened? Just an accidental encounter with someone from the past. Then why should I cry? And the miss word...?

I really need to concentrate so that my work goes well. That's the point of being professional, not mixing hearts and logic.

Finally my practice hours ended, everything went as it should.

The wall clock in my room shows at 13:05 WIB. Oh no! I'm late for my lunch appointment with Ahmad.

I'll just type a message right away.

[I ate out the same High School temen] sent.

An answer message immediately went into my salary.

[Yes, be careful on the road]

I immediately pressed the call button on behalf of Ahmad.

"Assalamu 'alaikum, '" said Ahmad after a few seconds I waited.

"Wa 'alaikum greetings, Mad. Sorry I'm late. Where are you again?" ask me to the point.

"I'm waiting in front of the pharmacy, Ri," she replied.

"Okay, I went straight there, yeah."

"Okay, I'll wait. Assalamu 'alaikum, '" turned off my call.

"Wa 'alaikum salam," I still answered him.

I attached my doctor's suit on the back of the swivel chair. I picked up my bag and hurried off to the pharmacy.

My eyes swept over the waiting chair in front of the pharmacy. There were only a few people sitting there. And I saw him, the man I was referring to, sitting in the back seat.

I walked closer to him. Coincidentally, the man turned towards me. He smiled broadly. I returned his smile too. Nine years does not change it at all. He looks just like the last time we met. Just a little thinner.

Ahmad stood up to me. I stopped a few feet in front of him.

"Ri," he called restrained. He kept his mouth open but nothing came out of his mouth.

He shook his head and muttered, "I don't believe this."

"Why are you, Mad?" ask me while moving forward.

"I feel like I'm having a dream to see you again, Ri. You look like ...."

"What the hell?" I was confused to see it this way.

"You mean you're fascinated, right?" many GR.

"From the beginning you were always charming" he said, making my race soar.

"You can just. All the girls must have been mixed up" I walked closer and closer to him.

"Yuk, have lunch first. We will continue to do it."

Ahmad laughed and approached me.

But suddenly my eyes were locked on someone standing in front of the drug taking. The man also looked at me.

Ahmad, who noticed I was looking the other way, moved his gaze in the direction I was looking.

"Harry?" His face changed immediately.

Instead of rushing off for lunch, Ahmad approached the man instead.

I walked straight to the parking lot.

I opened my car door and got out of the parking lot.

I heard the song Luka Lama Koklat which I made the sound of my phone call from inside the bag.

I pulled my car over and looked for the source of the sound.

"Wa 'alaikum greetings, Ri. You where?"

"On the road. I'm looking for a place to eat. Later if I get a sharelock," I said lazily.

"Which way are you going?" ask her in an uncomfortable tone.

"Trunojoyo area," I replied briefly.

"I followed," Ahmad immediately turned off his call.

"Wa 'alaikum salam, Mad," I said. He forgot to say hello.

I parked my car at a cafe in Trunojoyo.

I ordered a glass of lemon tea to relieve the heat in my throat as well. And another glass for Ahmad.

I saw a car parked next to my car. The driver went straight in and spread his gaze across the cafe. I, who chose a seat in the no smoking area, waved my hand for that person to see me.

"Sorry, Ri. I don't mean ...."

"Drink first, Mad," I pushed the glass filled with lemon tea to get closer to him.

Ahmad according. He sipped the cold tea.

"Okay, now, by the way," I said.

"I don't know what to say to you."

"Lho who?" many wonder.

"I thought I'd see you, we'd have lunch together, tell you a lot of things, yeah," said Harry Potter, looking down.

"We're doing that."

"Yes, and I destroyed it at the beginning" he said.

"Have it, Mad, don't talk about it" I said. "Mending you food items. I was belom pesen, waiting for you. Afraid that you don't like what I'm pending."

Ahmad immediately called a waiter, ordered a serving of spaghetti bolognese for him, and a serving of chicken cordonbleu for me.

"Still like it, don't you?" ask her while pointing at the chicken cordonbleu she ordered.

"of courses. You still want to, Mad?"

"I want everything about you, Ri," he said as he looked at me.

"Ehm, so what have you been working on for the last three years?" ask me to divert the conversation. For the last three years, I have lost contact with him.

"Your nyariin."

"Don't be stupid. You're just wasting time" I said with a smile.

"i'm serious. I am nyariin you. That's why when you called me again a few months ago, I was so happy."

"I'm sorry, my phone said. As soon as I took care of the number, I was sent to a remote area where there was no signal, the vehicle was hard to get in" I explained.

"Pillotent. I thought you didn't want to know me anymore" he said, playing a fork on his plate.

"Not that, Mad. You know what I am. For me, you are one of my best friends. There's no reason for me to break off our friendship" I said sincerely.

"Is my position stuck there, Ri?"

"Ahmad, we've been talking about this a lot. Do I have to keep repeating everything I've ever said?"

Sometimes I ask in my heart, why is Ahmad so intent on changing our status? He seemed to be locked in the past and failed to move on from there. While life goes on. Even I can say, I used to love it just monkey love. And sometimes I laughed at my ridiculousness.

"I'm not the one you deserve to wait for, Madame. You can get a better woman than me. Why are you spending your time free?"

"Nothing is free for you, Ri. I've tried to open my heart to other women, but there's only you in my heart and mind."

"Why? Don't you have the same heart as me?" finally, the question also came up.

"Yes, I never considered you. Like everyone else, I admire you. But ever since Harry said you were trying to get that biology olympic trophy for me, I just realized that you're watching me more than anyone else."

"But it's just monkey love, Mad," I tried to wake her up from a delusion that was too high.

"I don't want you to expect too much."

"Why?"

It was hard to explain the heart to her. For years we have been talking about the same thing. If I had known how stubborn he was, would I still like him?

I took a long breath. "Because I'm going to marry someone else."
