HIM, MY BEST FRIEND

HIM, MY BEST FRIEND
S2 Meet again

I don't feel like days change, months change, years change. Time seems to run for me. All the pain that I felt in the past seemed to evaporate, leaving no traces.

Two months ago, I returned to this city. The city where I was born, the city where I grew up, a city full of memories. Bandung.

Nine years I left this town. A lot has changed. Especially in terms of infrastructure. This city has become an amazing city.

I returned with my status as a General Physician. I worked at a Puskesmas and was also assigned as an IGD Doctor in a hospital.

...

I saw my watch showing that a few minutes later my duty hours were over. I intend to go back to the room to get my bag.

I just stepped my foot out the door of the Emergency Unit, an ambulance entering a special parking lot. Quickly the officers lowered the blankar on which lay a mother who was old enough. I immediately ran back to the ER.

With the help of a nurse, I immediately handled the patient.

"Sorry, is there a patient's family?" ask me as soon as I open the ER door, after finishing doing medical on the mother.

"Me, Doctor. I'm his son," a young woman immediately stood up. The man sitting next to him stood up.

"Your mother had a heart attack, but she could still be saved. I just checked that there was a bruise from the impact on his head. Maybe hit something when falling or bumping on the floor. There may be bleeding in the brain. However, to be sure, your mother must undergo a CT Scan first," I explained at length.

"Is my mother conscious, Doctor?" ask the woman again.

"Not yet. I hope he wakes up soon. Maybe tonight your mother should spend the night in the ER. If tomorrow morning the situation has improved, can only be transferred to the inpatient room," I said trying to calm down.

"What's the worst that could happen to my mom, Doc?" eyes glazed.

"Don't think the worst, Mom. Pray for the best for your mother. Because we're here to do our best for all our patients" I said, without giving false hope.

The glass that had covered the woman's eyes had now turned into a stream of water on her cheeks. The man beside her immediately hugged and calmed her down.

"Prophey, Mom. I'll talk to a specialist who can take care of your mother right away" I said goodbye.

"Thank you, Doctor ...," her words hung, she was like looking for my name tag.

"Rinjani," I said.

"Thank you, Doctor Rinjani," he said.

"Sama-sama, Mom," I stepped away.

Just a few steps away, I felt like someone was calling me.

"Sister Ri-ri!"

I stopped my steps and looked back. The young lady was watching me.

"A real doctor, Riri?" tanyanya doubt.

I stepped back to the ER door.

"So you called me?" I made sure, because not everyone calls me by the name 'Riri'.

"Sir ...," the woman immediately hugged me. She was crying hard.

I stroked his back. Wh who? I try to remember his face.

"I'm Rena, Brother. Rena. His brother Harry, "he cried without letting go of a hug.

"Sir Riri has come home? Surely Brother Harry is very happy if he knows Brother is here." Loosened his embrace changed with a grasp on both of my hands.

"Rena?" I still can't believe it. Last time I met him, he was in eighth grade.

If this woman is Harry's sister, it means the one I just helped ....

"Yes, Brother. Brother changed very much. I got to pangling," he said as he looked at me from top to bottom.

What does this white hijab and coat mean?

"Sister Harry is coming soon. I was told that Mom fell in the room." Rena's successful words made my heart beat fast.

Why is fate so quick to bring me to the past? I was hoping I would never see him again.

"Silent sister met you. Even though my sister didn't expect to meet in this way," I told her. "Hopefully I am aware yes, so we can continue the treatment. Don't worry, here everything is the best doctor. I must be cured." I changed my way of speaking so that she would feel more comfortable.

He's nodding.

"Yes, Brother. I hope Harry is also a nyampe. She must have missed Big Brother so much," her words pierced my heart.

I walked away from the ER. After passing through the lobby, I slowed down the steps towards my room. I don't think my feet are on the floor.

"Doctor Rinjani!" call someone from the information room.

"Didn't the doctor come in the morning? Why haven't you come home?" ask her while approaching me.

"I just came home, Doctor El. I just got a bag in my room. Oya, the new doctor's coming, huh? Patients in the ER need the help of a doctor. The medical record is already in Sister Tia," I told Doctor Elang, the surgeon who happened to be in the information room.

"Yes, I'll go straight to the ER. Should I take you to the room?" bargained for.

"No, I can do it myself" I said with a smile.

"Yes already. Be careful on the road, yeah. I'll call later" he said. He immediately walked towards the ER.

I resumed my steps towards the General Physician's room.

I took the bag on the chair, I used to rub my clothes. Two missed calls and several messages were sent to it.

[Ri, when can we meet?] a short message came in from Ahmad, a friend of my High School.

My friend never forgot to tell me anything. And when I said I was going back to this town, he just kept calling and texting me to take the time to meet him.

[If it's lunchtime tomorrow, how's Mad?] I sent him that message.

[OKAY. I'm going straight to the hospital tomorrow, yeah] so fast he's returning my messages.

[OKAY. One o'clock in the afternoon]

I turned off the screen and put it in my bag immediately. I pulled out the car keys and stepped out of the room.

...

I parked my car where it should be. I picked up my bag and suit that was in the driver's side seat. Before I looked at the rearview mirror, just to make sure no hair comes out. Then I added a little lipstick to my lips.

I got out of the car and locked it fast. Feeling that something was lacking, I walked while checking the contents of my bag without paying attention to the road.

Dugm!

My shoulder is shaking someone's shoulder hard. I staggered back. Suits, bags and contents fell scattered.

"Sorry, Sir. I accidentally let my guard down" I said, correcting my glasses. I immediately picked up my bag and picked up the scattered contents.

"It's okay, Doc. Sorry, I was also in a hurry to not focus on the road" said the person I hit.

I also got my coat dropped.

I who was entering the notebook and the ballpoint pen immediately looked up.

"Thank you ka..," suddenly my words were cut off. My mouth is thick, even my breath feels tight. My heart stopped beating.

The person I hit reacted the same way. He stood motionless, just looking at me with a look of disbelief. His face showed fatigue, with matted hair and shirt sleeves rolled up to the elbows.

I hurried to get the suit out of his hand. I straightened my body. I immediately set foot, without saying another word.

"Ri!" call that guy.

I stopped but still refused to turn around.

"I miss you so much." His words forced me to twist my body.

"I'm sorry, you're wrong. I don't know you," I said.

I turned around and put my foot forward without looking back.

Suddenly my tears just escaped. Behind me, the person I hit looked at me painfully.

...
