He Is Not My Brother's

He Is Not My Brother's
Our Fate [END]

Amy faintly heard her cell phone ringing. He forced himself to open his eyes and reach for the phone.

"What's wrong? New case? Okay, I'll be there soon." Phone connection is closed. Amy tried to get out of bed. His head feels heavy. Again the low blood recurred.

After sitting for a while on the edge of the bed, Amy rushed to the bathroom to wash her face. After that he took two loaves of bread from the table and chewed them without applying anything.

"It tastes, really, better plain like this," muttered Amy in surprise. He continued to chew the bread while running out and towards the bus stop.

In front of a not-so-large beige-wrapped building, Amy came down and immediately ran inside the gate.

"Good morning" he told two men on duty. The two people just nodded and smiled at him.

"A, Amy. Sorry for calling you all of a sudden. You should be on leave today." A man in a green uniform appears and holds the file to Amy.

"Oh, it's like suicide" Amy muttered after reading through some of the files. He continued to move past the row of tables then turned to the right and entered a room.

"It does look like a suicide but look at the results of the forensic investigation. There was not a single trace of fingerprints on the rope he was wearing to hang himself." The man in the green uniform was sitting across the table after Amy sat at her desk.

"Hm, that's weird. Did the victim wear gloves?" look for Amy who keeps checking the files that the man in the green uniform gave her.

"No. He didn't wear it when we found it at the scene."

Amy frowned, thinking. Read word-for-word report results while the investigation team. Then nausea ambushed him. The stomach acid feels up into the esophagus. Amy closed her mouth and headed straight for the bathroom to get the stomach out.

"Sir, please give me a little more time to finish the essay." A girl chased after a man in a blue dongker suit and was somewhat overwhelmed to keep up with his pace.

"I've given you an extra day. Why are you always slow?" the man said without looking.

"I .. I don't understand the language of science. I have to re-read the multiverse theory five times, Mr. Marshall." The girl sounded frustrated. Not once did he ask for more time.

M looked at the girl. He knew that his freshly entered student was talented. But M also does not like delays. "How far have you written the essay?"

The girl suddenly sparkled, "I just have to write down her conclusion, sir."

"I'll wait until four o'clock today." M glanced at the watch that showed twelve o'clock.

"Thank you," said the girl lowered her head. He then stopped following M.

"You always give your students extra time" said someone who had been standing watching M since he left class.

"I know someone who does not understand the language is not ordinary" said M. He embraced and frowned at the woman waiting for him.

"That must be Amy!" The woman laughed. "Come, we have to hurry if we don't want to be late. I must be looking forward to today."

*******

Jerome was watering plants in the front yard when a white minibus came. The man looked older and wrinkled. Her hair was decorated with a lustrous silver color. He retired to sea. Now he has settled down and is back in his little house.

"Grandfather!" A small voice was heard followed by an enthusiastic roar. A young boy hugged Jerome. "I'm coming, Cake!"

"Xabi! You're getting bigger" said Jerome, holding the boy up high. "Where's your mother's father?"

The boy called Xabi was silent until two other boys came and hugged Jerome. A fat boy and a beautiful girl who looked the youngest.

"Gery! Aby!" exciting Jerome.

"Dad said Aunt Amy was coming. Whereabouts? I didn't see it" said the little girl.

"He's not here yet, honey." Jerome stroked Aby's hair slowly. He sees M dropping things off with his wife, Aurora.

"Dad, how are you?“ aurora asked with a large bag in her left hand. "Where's dad's hand?" asked the woman in the purple shirt.

Jerome's left hand is not intact. He had an accident at sea so that part of his finger to his wrist had to be amputated.

"Don't worry. Jimmi said he'd fix it. Yesterday I broke that hand by accident." Jerome chuckles.

"You should be more careful. How many times has Jimmi made a new one?“ tanya M who lifted two large bags and immediately placed them on the terrace.

"Two times. But actually I'd rather use a hook arm than a robot arm." Jerome chuckled again.

"Yes! Pirate grandfather!“ gery and Xabi.

Mobile phone M vibrates. He immediately shunned the children and accepted the call. Soon her face turned pale.

"What's up?" tanya Aurora read her husband's mood.

"Amy passed out in his office" whispered M. They don't want the kids to know that. They really liked Amy.

"Huh? Shouldn't he be on leave?“ Aurora whispered. "Basic, that kid!" Aurora massaged his forehead. Not once twice Amy kept working even though she was on leave.

"I'll go first." M rushes to drive a car to see his sister.

"Jimm? You haven't come home yet? Amy passed out and is now in the hospital." It sounds like M called his best friend when in the car. "Hurry home!" he said while disconnecting the call because his words just entered the mailbox.

M ran along the hospital hallway. He stopped at the reception to ask where his sister was. M knows very well that Amy always forced herself about her work. However, she also knows that Amy loves her job as a forensic analyst.

When M arrived at Amy's room, a nurse also came almost simultaneously.

"Are you his guardian?" ask the nurse in the dusty pink uniform.

"Yes, I'm his family" replied M.

"The test results are positive, sir." The nurse smiled widely and handed M a large envelope.

"What test, huh, Sus?" ask M for surprise. She was worried that Amy had a dangerous illness.

I sat down next to the bed and opened the envelope. He saw a picture of Amy's womb. There is the age of her sister's womb which stepped on three months.

"So, actually Jimmi used to come home to see you?" m asked when he saw Amy open her eyes.

"Not that often. He's busy in the lab so he comes home every two weeks, sometimes" Amy said. "But he hasn't been home in a month."

"That kid!" M grasps Amy's test results tightly until a slight chafing. "Shall I beat him up?"

"He didn't know I was pregnant with his son, M."

"You're defending him?"

"I just found out today" said Amy a little embarrassed. "It's not his fault. Comeon, home. I want to meet the kids and dad." Amy got up and put away the blanket. With the help of M he walked towards the wheelchair that was near the door.

"Let me push" said M. "Jimmi should have done this. Sometimes I wonder if he can really take care of you? He even works in a faraway place. How dare it now impregnate my sister."

"Sister, this isn't his fault. I'm the one who wants to work here."

"So keep going!" exclaim M. He just didn't want Amy to do anything. Now, he lives in the city of Z with Aurora. While Jimmi works in town X and Amy stays in their hometown. He was only worried about his sister. Although his father now lives here, but he knows the man has aged.

"I can take care of myself, M." Amy tries to ease M's annoyance or worry.

"Not with a child in your womb. Jimmi has to take responsibility and take care of you."

Amy shook her head. She didn't know how else to calm her brother down. His body still felt limp so he decided to save his strength.

"Uncle Jimm!" gery exclaimed when he saw Jimmi get out of his sedan car. The boy ran over to Jimmi and hugged him.

"Where are Xabi and Aby?" asked Jimmi, still holding Gery.

"They're sleeping" Gery replied as he ruffled Jimmi's hair.

Jimmi walks into the porch and finds Aurora and M in the front room staring at him with a gaze of protest.

"From Gery! Uncle Jimmi must be tired. Come on, take a nap!" Aurora takes Gery from Jimmi and immediately guides him towards the room.

"He's in the room" M said. "Until when do you keep splitting up, anyway?" tanya M expressed her protest.

Jimmi just smiled and held M's shoulder at a glance. Then he entered Amy's room. The room was still the same as it used to be, except for the renovated ceiling.

Amy is seen lying down with Xabi hugging her. They look good. Slowly Jimmi moved closer to the bed. He sat on the edge then stroked Amy's hair slowly and kissed her forehead.

"You're home?" ask Amy. Apparently his sleep was disturbed by Jimmi's treatment.

Jimmi nodded with a smile. Then he stroked Xabi's hair and stroked the cheek of the three-year-old.

"I'm pregnant, Jimm," Amy said. Jimmi's hand and the man's fingers. "Three months."

Smile on Jimmi's lips. His brown eyes are round. "Certainly that?"

Amy thrust the large brown envelope she took from the bedside table at Jimmi.

The man opened it impatiently. He read it carefully then immediately hugged Amy tightly.

"What's up?" Xabi woke up and rubbed his eyes. "Daddy?"

"Hi, Honey! You'll have a sister!" Jimmi hugs and kisses Xabi until the little boy laughs loudly. Then he kissed Amy's stomach carefully.

"Have you met M? She's mad that I'm pregnant and you're gonna be away from me."

"That's not gonna happen. I'm transferred to a new lab in the next town."

"really?" ask Amy with a radiant face. That means Jimmi can go home every day.

"Yes!" Jimmi hugged his wife and son.

"Mommy, Daddy .. What's that sister?" ask Xabi plain.

Amy and Jimmi instantly rack their brains to string together the right words to explain to their firstborn.

The clouds in the sky moved in a swarm and drizzling began to wet the earth. No. gabe. The sky never cries because it knows that no matter how far the waters flow, they will fly back to it.
