He Is Not My Brother's
Failures

Jimmi and M are restless waiting for Amy to talk to Mrs. Larry's in the room. M even put an ear on the door but it didn't sound anything.

"Mom doesn't usually talk to someone all this time. Especially in his own room. Did Amy make a mistake?“ asked Jimmi looking at M who was still sticking an ear on the door.

"Is Amy being scolded, Jimm?“

"It can be."

The door knob moved, M moved away from the door and waited with Jimmi. The two guys were stunned to see Amy with a bent face, red eyes and snot coming out of her nose.

Amy was busy wiping away tears. As soon as he realized that there were two people staring at him, he ran and hugged his brother and then sobbed again.

"Why, Am?“ ask M to worry.

Mrs. Larry comes out and is surprised to see the presence of Jimmi and M.

"What mother is she?“ jimmi looked at her mother in disbelief.

"Aih .. You guys did come home on time." Mrs. Larry in his nightgown invited the three teenagers to sit in the living room. In his hand was a file which he put on the table.

"Amy failed to take a special path to enter the University of Scholar," said Mrs. Larry looked at Amy who was still as excited in his brother's arms.

"Is it not enough?“ tanya M while stroking her sister's hair.

"Unfortunately, not because of that. Amy's good grades, Marsh." Mrs. Larry took a deep breath.

"Why then, Mom?" ask Jimmi.

"Because of the case with Iren. It became a black note. They said, starting this year the record of the behavior of prospective students was also considered."

"What?"

"Yes, unfortunately so." Mrs. Larry took the file and handed it to M.

"Is there nothing you can do, Mom? Request a statement from Iren's side, for example," Jimmi suggested.

Mrs. Larry shook his head slowly. "If this rule was in effect two years ago, neither of you would have passed that selection because you were involved in brawling." Mrs. Larry looked at Amy who had stopped sobbing. "He's sleeping, Marsh. Move your sister to her room. Let him rest."

M nodded then did what Mrs. Larry say.

The sun is not shining yet, M is awake. He was yawning on the family room couch. He slept there with Jimmi last night. He could not sleep well after seeing his sister hit with the news that Mrs. Larry bring.

M looking at the clock that shows six o'clock less than ten minutes. Two years ago, he was with Jimmi and Amy on the streets at a time like this. Seeing the sun start shining from behind the hill that is still filled with tall trees.

Jimmi looks good. He had just slept around the early hours of the morning. The guy was also worried about Amy's state. Last night he thought of something that might treat Amy's heart. He continued to search and find solutions until his eyes were heavy and finally tightly closed.

Meanwhile, M was still worried about his sister. M knows Amy has gone to great lengths to get high marks in every subject. He knew his sister had never been this hard. However, the results betrayed his efforts.

Maybe M anxiety is excessive. Of course because he was the one who loved Amy. In that worry, M opens the door to Amy's room to see her condition. M's mouth opened to see the figure of his sister was not in the room three times three meters.

Trying not to panic, M checked the bathroom. Blank. Anxiety enveloped his feelings more.

"Amy no!“

He checked the room and checked if Amy was not there.

"Jimm, wakeup! Amy no!“ M violently shook Jimmi's body which was curled up on the sofa.

"Why?“ Jimmi wakes up and sees anxiety on his best friend's face.

"Amy missing!“

Jimmi jumps with his eyes perfectly open. "What?" tanyakanya. "Have you searched the whole house?“

M shook. Immediately they move in different directions and check every corner of the house even to the yard.

"No one!“ exclaim M.

Jimmi just shook his head with a short breath.

"Lho, Young Master wants a sport like non Amy?“ asked Merry who came from the direction of the garden carrying a basket of vegetables in hand.

"Sports?“ Jimmi and M. Then the two immediately ran towards the street.

*******

At two in the night, Amy woke up. He felt his tears had dried up, making his cheeks slightly stiff. His eyes are hard to open. Swollen.

The girl got up and sat on the edge of the bed. A row of photos that have accompanied him. Looks like they'll be with her for longer than Amy thinks. Amy's head lowered for a moment then she rubbed her face until her hair while looking up.

"It can't be like this" he murmured.

The short-haired girl slowly occupied the chair then propped up her chin with both of her hands resting on the study table. Opened a worn-out blue note that faded. Amy reread her notes a few years ago. A diary of which he himself is not sure whether the writings are worthy of being called a diary.

Small smiles slowly rose from Amy's lips as she read. When there were no more sheets left, the clock showed five o'clock past thirty minutes.

Amy slid the window. The sun will rise in a few minutes. The silhouettes of trees and houses began to faintly be seen in the darkness. The girl picked up a jumper, hat, and shoes and put them on. Slowly, he opened the door. Fortunately, his brother and girlfriend are still asleep. Amy sneaks quietly out of the house.

"Miss want to exercise?“

Amy's body recoiled and her balance almost faltered at the question from Merry. Mrs Assistant. Larry was seen carrying an empty basket towards the backyard. He stroked his chest finally. "Yes" he replied after his heartbeat stabilized.

Merry just nodded. Amy rushed out the gate and started running. Maybe physical fatigue can make him forget the psychic fatigue that is running over him.

Keep going without direction, Amy doesn't know where. He didn't want to cross the path he used to. Then a place sprung up in his mind. So he turned around, passed Larry's house quickly and turned on a slightly descending path.

The place looks a little dull. Paint the fence and the house is covered in dust. Wild grass grows here. Amy opened the gate and entered with an unstoppable feeling of longing. The last time he was here was six months ago, when M and Jimmi didn't come home on semester break. Amy's here to pluck the grass and clean the house outside and inside.

The girl sat on the wooden stairs towards the terrace and looked around. He then took out a pot overgrown with an unspecified bonsai tree.

"There's still." Amy grabbed the key half-buried in the pot. A spare key that was intentionally left there. He opened the door and went into his room and closed the door.

*******

By nine in the morning, M and Jimmi have yet to find Amy. The two men had searched along the village road three times. However, the person sought never met.

"Are you sure Amy's out for sport?" ask Mrs. Larry was also worried about Merry.

"Related, Mistress. Miss Amy if you want to run in the morning, right, must be dressed like that" replied Merry.

Mrs. Larry looked at M and Jimmi who were still panting after checking the village streets. The two teenagers nodded slowly.

"Did he go to his friends' house?“ muttered Mrs. Larry. "Let me call their parents." The graceful lady immediately headed for the phone table. He opened the phone book and began to push the button.

Mrs. Larry is busy calling, M thinks hard where Amy's favorite place when her sister is sad. "Home!“ exclaim M. He immediately ran out on the follow-up Jimmi who just understood the meaning of the words spoken by his best friend.

The two men ran. It doesn't matter if their jerseys are wet and the skin all over the body is sticky. The faces of the two had not even been washed at all. They both run like they did when they were chasing the ball on the basketball court.

With his long legs, Jimmi arrived first in the yard that looked clean. He bent down, placed his hands on his knees and made them focus. Then he moved back when M came and touched his back.

"This is his job!" jimmi exclaimed as they stepped on the wooden floor that looked dust-free. The bonsai plant in the corner is even still wet sign someone has watered it.

M checked the bonsai and found a key there. "Amy's gone, Jimm" he said. If his sister was still in there, the key would definitely not be in that clay pot.

Jimmi circles the house, hoping that there will be something he meets. It could have been Anne's spirit or better yet the person she was looking for. But all he encountered was a gentle gust of wind that struck his face as well as a pile of grass that had just been plucked.

The sun was almost overhead when M and Jimmi finished asking the neighbors around. Someone saw Amy out of the courtyard and went towards the village hall.

"We have to eat something first" M said as she held onto her empty stomach.

"We look for food while walking" said Jimmi who did not look hungry at all.

"All right." M glanced at his best friend silently in awe. Compared to him, Jimmi looks more serious looking for Amy. The guy didn't even complain from morning. "Jimm" said M patting his best friend on the shoulder. "Do you really love him?"

Jimmi nodded. That alone was enough to make M sure. The fewer words that come out of his best friend's mouth, the more serious the answer will be.

"We've let him down for half a year" Jimmi said. "Now his disappointment is growing. I'm not sure he has a plan B!"

M took a long breath. "How about we make him plan B?"

Jimmi bit his lower lip, weighing. "Alright," he said. "Now we buy bread first. Your stomach looks like it's already on a march."

Jimmi's call was cut by M's stomach. The two of them smiled slightly before walking into the small shop that sold bread and various drinks.
