The end of the semester is approaching. The final exam was conducted by all students. Amy kept looking at the calendar on her desk. There was one day that he marked with blue ink. M and Jimmi's departure day to the big city.
Amy took a deep breath. Soon lonely days will accompany him. There was no more M that he could chat with all the time or Jimmi who accompanied him to study. Going to school and going home by yourself.
A sudden pain pierced his eyes, making his tear glands work. Those black eyes had been bathed in tears that were ready to spill. However, Amy immediately rubbed it as soon as the water points came out. If M saw her crying like this because she was about to be left behind, it was possible that her brother would cancel his studies in the big city.
Amy flips the calendar page. There was also a date he marked. Today, the day of the release of the students of class XII. M and Jimmi have gone and are preparing at the government-owned showhouse the school has rented.
After wiping away the tears, Amy cleansed her face and started wearing base makeup. She had asked Weni to teach her to wear natural makeup. Amy has been able to wear eyeliner and eyeshadow properly. She chose the color for her eyes and lipstick. Previously Amy had tidied up her eyebrows that did not need to be drawn again.
After the makeup was done, Amy grabbed a white shirt hanging from the closet, then put it on. A black blazer he wears without buttoning it. Lastly, Amy uses a pomade to make her pixie hair look neat.
"Ah, why is it like mourning?“ amy muttered when she finished wearing black sneakers with black body-fit pants. The girl hurriedly changed her shoes with white ones. "Better," he murmured.
Before heading to the building, Amy stops by a flower shop. He wanted to buy two flower arrangements.
"Some one can help?“ ask someone who looks like the store owner when Amy walks into the store and starts looking around.
"I want two bouquets of flowers" Amy replied.
"For what event?“
"Jude."
"Daughter? A fella? Brother?“
Amy thought for a moment. "Three."
The shop owner frowned. Then he took a bouquet of flowers. "Ivy is the epitome of friendship."
Amy glanced at the astonishment of the bouquet that only contained the leaves of the vine. "Mmm, I want flowers" Amy said.
"Ivy will be beautiful when combined with some roses." The shopkeeper cut some yellow roses from a pot in the corner of the store. "This is for your brother or your friend. For your boyfriend, maybe he'll like white roses instead of red."
Amy just nodded. He did not know about flowers. Really am. He only knew that the circuit made by the seller was beautiful but simple. Things Amy likes.
The girl had two bouquets of flowers. Even though two bouquets of flowers drain her allowance a month. He should have figured out the interest price and started saving a few months ago.
Apparently the show had started when Amy reached the showhouse. He hurriedly showed the guards an invitation and sat in an average chair occupied by mothers and fathers.
Soon Amy took out the smartphone and recorded the graduation procession. He'll send the video to Jerome by e-mail.
Once upon a time, the principal called five of the best graduates. Amy was proud to see her brother standing with four others up there. The girl also smiled seeing her brother's best friend there. Everyone applauded. Amy patted the thigh because her hand was still holding the smartphone.
After the event, all the graduating students gathered with their families to take pictures and celebrate. Amy approached her sister. He gave her a bouquet of yellow roses and hugged M tightly.
"Congratulations, M! I'm proud of you. Dad must be proud too,“ Amy said without taking off a hug.
"Thank you, Am." M received his sister's bouquet with a big smile. "One more for whom?“ tanya M saw Amy still holding a bouquet of white roses.
"For your best friend."
"He's still busy with his family" M said, pointing to Jimmi and Fohn.
"Where is Uncle Paul and Aunt Magda?“ amy asked.
"Auntie is still busy with school guests. While Uncle Paul did not seem to be coming" replied M. "Come, we'll go there." M pulls Amy towards Jimmi and Fohn.
"M! Congratulations!“ Fohn hugged M and patted the boy on the shoulder as soon as M and Amy approached.
Amy timidly approached Jimmi. "For you" he said, handing over flowers. "Congratulations, you graduated with excellent grades."
Jimmi smiles receiving a white rose from Amy. "Thank you very much."
"What'sthis? Why don't you hug her, Am?“ ask Fohn.
"Maybe they're embarrassed because there's us" M said.
"No. It—"
Ah, I want it to feel like Amy kicked those first two kids for putting her half to death. Not even Amy let out words, Jimmi had hugged her tightly.
"Thank you," whispered Jimmi, making Amy flutter violently.
Fohn glanced at M who was also watching the scene of his younger siblings. Then the ignorant gaze was understood by M.
Debaran Amy was getting louder when she felt two hands hugging her, then there was another hand. I think he wants to die.
M and Fohn hug Amy and Jimmi who are hugging.
"You guys messed up my moment!“ jimmi Protest.
"Hey, I just want to hug my sister .. and my sister-in-law's candidate" Fohn said.
"Me too" added M who threw a mischievous smile at Fohn.
That day the four of them took many photos and ended with lunch together.
***********
Val sees some newly printed photos plastered on her best friend's closet and study desk. What was most interesting to Val was that her best friend was smiling with two guys kissing her cheeks. Two of the most popular guys in school, at least before they graduated yesterday.
"Who took this photo?“ Val pointed to a photo that invited the envy of the girls if he saw it.
"Oh, it's Fohn who took the picture" Amy replied as she tidied her clothes into the suitcase.
"Fohn?“ Val's eyes cringed. He seemed to have just heard that name.
"Yes, Fohn, Jimmi's brother."
"You look cute in this photo" Val said unblinkingly looking at a picture of Amy in a blazer suit and black pants. "Oh, is this Fohn?“ Val's enthusiasm points to a guy in a glasses suit between M and Jimmi in another photo.
Amy glanced at Val's forefinger at a glance then folded back. "Yes, that's it."
"Well, he looks mature and. Does she have a boyfriend?“
"She already has a future wife" Amy replied without further ado.
"Ah, what a pity." Val pursed his disappointed lips.
"Heh ... instead of looking at the photos continue, better help me clean-up!“ exclaim Amy. He finished with the clothes and now switched to putting the books in the cardboard.
Val snorts. He approached his best friend and went along to tidy up the book.
"Am, if you live there can I still play?“
"I don't know yet. I'll ask Aunt Magda first."
"Ah, time can't. What Mrs. Larry was that mean?“ Val slammed the book into the cardboard.
"You know what not? He's creepier at home than at school."
"Really?“
Instead of answering, Amy kept a thousand languages silent and kept putting her things in the cardboard. He will miss this room, this house. A house full of memories with her sister. They both lived in that house their entire lives. Never separate whatever happens.
Now, as they grow up Amy has to let go of her bodyguard all her life. Of course, in the deepest heart Amy wants to continue with her brother. He never imagined life without his brother. He was afraid that half the dead would go through the days without M.
However, Amy must be willing to face her fears for life so that M can achieve her goals. He had to let go of his brother to be himself. Amy doesn't want to be a burden.
"Your sister leaves when?“ Val breaks Amy's mind.
Amy stopped her work. He started rubbing his eyes with the back of his fingers. "Tomorrow," he said holding his stuffing out. "He's leaving tomorrow. They ... go tomorrow ...."
Yeah, not just one that's going to disappear from Amy's days but two. Two people he loved. Two people who have always looked after him. Amy felt as if she was a bird that had lost its pair of wings. He would no longer be able to fly without the two wings.
Val sees the sadness in his best friend's eyes. He hugged Amy, whose body was shaking.
"I've never felt this sad" Amy muttered still holding back her sobbing. He was afraid that M would hear his sadness.
"Don't worry. There's still me, Sifa, Lewis." Val stroked Amy's back but did not blush her eyes. He understands a little bit of Amy's sadness. From the age of six he lost his mother, then at the age of eight he only lived alone with his brother to this day because his father was never at home. Tomorrow, he would lose the only person who had been faithfully accompanying him. "We won't leave you" Val whispered as she tightened her arms. He looked up to hold back his tears from spilling.
"Ah, I can't cry. M can't see this scene." Amy took off Val's embrace and wiped her tears.
"It's okay, Am. This one time is okay if you want to cry. There's no need to be held back" Val said with his hand on Amy's shoulder.
Amy's tears are back. The girl hugged Val again and finally had a little bit of a hug on her best friend's shoulder.
