He Is Not My Brother's

He Is Not My Brother's
The Way's Future

As Jerome had said, that night the whole village was pitch black because of the power outage. This is a great opportunity to watch the stars. The sky seemed to glitter without clouds blocking it.

"Well, it's amazing!“ Amy looked up to see dots of light popping up after her eyes adapted to the darkness. "I didn't know that I could see this much with the naked eye."

"could certainly. We just need to find a dark place. Ah, you never want me to camp with nature lovers, anyway." M said while attaching a camera to a tripod. "On the mountain, we can see this view. If the weather's clear."

"Where's the Milky Way?"

M indicates a constellation. "There. You know what that is?"

"Anthares?" guess Amy. He knew because M pointed to the constellation with the scorpion logo. And the brightest star in the cluster is known as Antares.

"Yes. See that scorpion's tail? The Milky Way is there."

"Oh, that fog?“

M nodded and smiled. He was busy arranging the camera. "You want me to take a picture with the Milky Way?“

Amy's eyes glinted in the dark."Yep! Of course!“

"Alright, stand there!“ command M. He pointed at a place. "Wait on! Here, put this on." M handed a flashlight to Amy.

"For what?“ Amy shrugged her shoulders. His face looked puzzled in the light of the bonfire that Jerome had managed to light.

"Light it up, then point it at one of the stars. Like Antares. You have to hold your position for 32 seconds. Okay?"

"All right." Amy obeyed M's instructions. It was a flashlight and then it didn't move. Amy doesn't count seconds. I don't think he wants to shake his knee. "Is it done?“

"hold. Ten more seconds."

Amy exhaled. Ten seconds feels so long. He even began to feel aching in the neck because he had to hold the position of his head that looked up. He regretted why he had not looked down or looked straight ahead.

"Yep. It's done." I grabbed the camera and saw the results. "Later on," he said with a sparkling face and a growing smile.

"You really like it?" ask Amy who now sees the camera screen next to M.

"Likes what?" m asked without looking even though he knew his sister was right next to him.

"Those heavenly things."

M turned to look at Amy and said confidently, "Yes. They're shining and full of mystery."

Amy saw it on her brother's face. Strong desire and interest. M's face was even very bright. The brightest face Amy has ever seen from her sister.

"You've got to go to astronomy, M."

"Eh?" M looked at his sister. "There's no such major here."

"At the University of Scholar there is," argued Amy.

"It's .. too far."

"Not as far as those stars, are they?" Amy smile. "Didn't you want to get closer to them?“ The sky full of flickering.

M is speechless. Lips stiff. He could not tell the real reason. That he didn't want to let Amy stay alone.

"Come on, why is my brother quiet?"

"He won't leave you, Am." Jerome approached his two children.

"That's right. Am I a child? I'm an adult, M!“

"Well, listen to your brother, Marsh." Jerome stroked his son's shoulder.

"I also have my own future plans."

Jerome and M compactly turned their heads in wonder at Amy. They had not expected such words to come out of the flap-haired girl before them. Amy is spontaneous and never talks about what she wants to be. Amy always said she wanted to be herself.

"Future plans?“ M raise eyebrows. "Like ... married her brother's best friend and have two cute kids?“

"Hm, what's dad's daughter's plan?“

"I'll study hard and enter Scholar University too!“

Jerome and M looked at each other. Not believing in each other's hearing.

"I want to be a criminologist!“ amy is confident.

M gaped, so did the father. Criminologist? Just be right! They were clearly jolted by Amy's statement.

"Why should a criminologist?" jerome asked who actually did not know what a criminologist could do. "Other courses are many. You can be an architect, a doctor, even a linguist."

"No. I want to understand the social life and the reasons people do evil. After all, there are many challenges in criminology. I'm gonna deal with that."

"Are you sure?“ M looked into Amy's eyes. His sister nodded steadily without blinking. "Dad, he's really an adult!" peekot M.

Jerome took a deep breath, "Maybe it does fit your nature. Far from feminine." Jerome shrugged his shoulders.

"Cool, right? I could work as part of a forensics team or as a journalist." Amy puffed up her chest. Actually he decided he wanted to become a criminologist after he spoke to Iren at school the other day. After hearing Iren's sincere apology and reason for doing something bad to her, Amy understood and understood Iren. His views on Iren changed, inversely proportional to the views of people who knew nothing but the incident in the school toilet.

Since then Amy has always thought that every evil has a side of truth that can only be seen from the side of the perpetrator. And he became interested in people's thoughts and their possible reactions to one thing.

"You sure-you .... Your grade will be good until the end?" M returned to aim at the sky.

"I'll try!“

"Then, happy fighting!“

Amy nodded excitedly and smiled wide. He will try more and more.

"Look! Looks like it's a meteor shard!" jerome exclaimed pointing at some light moving in the orion cluster.

"Ah, right! Look that!" M pointed his camera at the meteor and hoped his camera could capture the moment.

Amy looked at the burning celestial body in the atmosphere in amazement. He quietly prayed in his heart that his wish would be fulfilled.

Jerome embraces the shoulders of his two children, "You must remember this."

******

The sun had risen and Amy was walking unsteadily to school. M had left first until now he had left alone. Amy's face looks dirty. He slept through the middle of the night last night. After seeing the meteor, he was with his brother and father chatting about many things.

Amy yawns. His eyes were almost closed as he walked past the street lamppost on the sidewalk. He blinked his eyes and grabbed something in the outer pocket of his bag. A tumbler contains infusion of water. Amy drank it a little and took out a slice of lemon in it. Afterwards he frowned because the lemon piece was chewed and swallowed.

Amy's eyes are now perfectly open. Immediately he stored the remaining pieces of lemon that were in the tumbler back into the bag. With eyes that had returned refreshed, he continued his steps to school.

However, Amy's steps slowed down to see two people who were joking in front there. That's Jimmi, along with Opheria. They look very familiar. Both laughed happily. Jimmi even grabbed the shoulder of Opheria.

"They ... reciprocate?“

Amy's forehead wrinkled. A strong wind blew in his chest. His head turned away. Amy caught her breath, inhaled the deep air and let it out. He did not understand why there was a sense of tightness stopping in his chest.

Amy stared at the blue sky, hoping her eyes could escape the sudden invading heat. He stopped his steps. Then move his feet and hands randomly.

"Why Amy? It's nothing. Come ... calm down," the girl told herself. He breathed long breaths many times.

"Armghhh!!! Fuck them!“ Amy was running so fast. Passing Jimmi and Opheria who were astonished by the speed of his run.

Seriate...
