Is It Better Alone?

"Edewina, right?"

Edewina looked at the man before her. A handsome man, wearing a three-piece suit like Reo used to wear. Edewina remembered Reo. This man's age must be almost the same as Reo's.

"Yes." Yeah."

The man extended his hand. "My name is Justin Tan."

"You're Korean?" edewina asked and returned Justin's hand. The two shook hands and released.

"My father. But my mother was English. I was born until I was 15 years old in Korea and 15 years to now 27 years old in England."

Edewina laughed at how funny this guy named Justin was.

"Why laugh?"

"You're funny."

"Oh yeah?" Justin was happy.

"What are you doing here?" ask Edewina.

Before Justin replied, a man who Vienna knew as one of the foremen came closer.

"Sir, you're being sought by the madam."

"Oh..." Justin patted his own tee. He smiled at Edewina. "I go first, beautiful."

Edewina nodded while looking at the foreman. "Who is that?"

"You don't know? He was the main owner of the mall's temporarily built stock."

"Yes God. I've been disrespectful to him."

The foreman smiled. "Master Justin is. Always be nice and friendly to anyone."

Edewina could only shake her head with a smile. He then stepped into the special room where they served. He saw Sandra sitting there.

"San, what's wrong?" edewina asked as she sat in front of her best friend.

"I'm looking for another strategy to conquer my beloved."

"What failed yesterday?"

"Yes. He was still indifferent and reluctant to talk to me. But I'm sure he loves me. Maybe he's still hurt by what just happened."

"Aren't you going to give up?"

"Why give up if I know he still loves me?"

Edewina was silent for a moment. Does Reo still love me? Or is his love gone? But according to Adeline's aunt, Reo loved me since I was a kid. Will his love be lost so soon?

Edewina took a deep breath. He smiled as he saw Sandra reading an article entitled HOW TO MAKE MEN FALL IN LOVE WITH US AGAIN

Should I try again? My God, it hurt when Reo ignored me last night.

Back again this afternoon Edewina came to Reo's office. He did not know if this time it would work or not but he came without notice.

"You want to surprise Reo again, ma'am?" diana asked as soon as Edewina came.

"Yes." Yeah."

"My father is in his room. There are no meetings today."

Edewina simply nodded with a smile. He came this afternoon with Reo's favorite cake. Last night Edewina made it after asking mommy Riani for her recipe when they went to Manchester. The chocolate cake that Reo likes.

3 times Edewina repeated it until finally the cake could be perfect. Edewina's hands even blistered when she accidentally held the hot tray.

As he exited the elevator, he saw Reo's door open. There was laughter coming from the room. Reo and a woman laugh.

As Edewina stood in front of the entrance, she saw Reo sitting side by side with Indira. The two were watching something on TV in front of them. In their hands was a cup filled with coffee and on the table was a chocolate cake.

"Vienna?" Indira who accidentally looked towards the entrance immediately stood to see Edewina coming.

"He..he...!" Edewina looks misbehaved at how closely Indira sat next to Reo in her miniskirt exposing her smooth white thighs.

Edewina's hand held a plastic bag where she placed a food box filled with cookies. His eyes stared at the chocolate cake on the table which seemed to have halved.

Reo just looked at Edewina with a cold expression. Indira immediately approached Edewina. "Let's go in!"

"Thank you." Some doubt Edewina stepped but finally he stepped too.

"I'm leaving you?"Pamit Indira's.

"The film is not over yet" Reo said.

"I can watch it again at home" Indira said and then closed the door to Reo's room before he actually came out.

Reo keeps watching movies. As if he did not care about the presence of Edewina.

"Sister, I made you my sister's favorite chocolate cake. Recipe from mommy Riani" said Edewina trying to hold back her tears at Reo's indifferent attitude. He took the chocolate cake out of a plastic bag.

Reo looked at Edewina. "Me and Indira have eaten chocolate cake. Can't you see what's on this table?"

"But this is not like mommy Riani's recipe."

"Indira made it. She learned to make this chocolate cake straight from mommy. So it feels exactly the same as that made by mommy Riani."

"Why didn't you try my cake? I was the first time I made it. But I assure you, it certainly does not taste better than made by mommy Riani."

Reo takes the TV remote and instantly turns off his TV. He stood up and walked towards his desk. Sitting there blaming his laptop.

"Other times, if you want to come, report first to the receptionist. Don't just go in there."

Edewina was surprised to hear Reo's words. "Sister.., do I have to ask permission as well?"

"Yes." replied Reo firmly.

Wasn't Reo also initially very kind and considerate of her? Where did all that end up? Was Reo too bored with his jutek attitude all along?

Edewina reinserted the box containing the cake into a plastic bag. He then threw it into the trash can in the corner of the room.

"I'm sorry, I'll never come here again" Edewina said, leaving immediately.

Reo was shocked to see Edewina dumping the food box into the trash. He hurriedly picked it up and took the food box out of his plastic bag.

Has my attitude gone too far? But this is what I want? I want to get away from Edewina. But why does it feel so painful?

3 days later......

"Sir, Aunt Adeline came to deliver the keys to the apartment. She said Miss Edewina's out of there. So auntie's going back to Manchester."

Reo who was temporarily reading the results of the financial expenditure raised his face and looked at Mark. "Wina out of the apartment? Didn't he know the apartment was his?"

"has known. But the madam still left. This is also a letter of subpoena from the court."

"What letter of call?"

"Mrs Edewina is suing for divorce first."

"What?" Reo snatched the letter from Mark. He read.

"He remembers my divorce first? So he really wanted to split up. Ok." Reo slammed the letter on the table. I don't know why his heart is hurting. His ego as a man who had always been wasted by Edewina made all the love that was still so great in his heart as if gone.

"Basic boy! He thinks I'm afraid of this? Ok. I will be there myself. When's his first trial?"

"Tomorrow. At 10 am. Mediation hearing."

"No need for mediation. Just make the decision." Reo immediately stood up and poured the drink into his glass. "I have waited in vain. Enough's enough!" reo shouted and drank an alcoholic drink that had been poured in a glass.

"There's also one that the lady gave me, sir."

"What's that?"

"The classic red Ferrari that you presented him with. Also his credit card."

"Ihs. Then he went to college up what? He's not used to taking public transport."

Mark smiled. "Maybe now the madam is willing to prove that she can be without all the facilities that you gave her."

"But stubborn!" said Reo then returned to pour the drink into his glass.

All the construction workers have gone home. But Edewina was still in her room. He felt lazy to return to the small apartment he rented near the campus.

"Edewina, what are you still doing here?"

Edewina lifted her face. "Eh, Justin sir?"

"Kok call sir anyway. I feel old. Just call Justin."

"But....!"

"There's no buts. You students are our partners. The architect was very satisfied with the small changes you made to the staircase."

"Just make a suggestion, sir."

"Sir again, anyway?"

Edewina smiled. "Justin."

"Well, that's dong. We go home yuk!"

"I can go home by myself."

"In this area you can already get a taxi. There is no bus. I happen to be heading to your college too. You live there, right?"

"Yes. Apartment that is close to campus. Just walk away."

"That means you're going somewhere a little far away?"

"Lumayan, anyway."

"Let's go home together."

"I don't want to bother."

"I don't feel bothered."

Edewina grabbed her bag and immediately stood up. But suddenly he felt a bit dizzy.

"Wina, what's wrong with you?" Justin hugged her.

"I feel dizzy and a little nauseous."

"You sick?"

Edewina could not answer. He fainted in Justin's arms.
