Not Just an Ex

Although Reo's legs are longer than Edewina's legs, this time the guy lost quickly with Edewina's steps. Because once down from the car, Edewina had run very fast looking for the whereabouts of Ken who was rumored to have an accident.

"Love, where's Ken?" ask Edewina.

Sinta and Clara were there.

"While preparing for the operation, Win. One of the shards of car glass stuck in Ken's waist." said Clara.

"Yes God! Why did Ken have an accident?" edewina asked in tears.

"We don't know either. His car collided with a garbage truck" replied Sinta.

The door of the room opens. Ken was pushed out into the operating room.

"You have to be strong, Ken. Don't surrender! I beg you not to give up! I don't want you to die." said Edewina, holding Ken's hand. The girl cried so hard that her two best friends hugged her.

Reo who saw that could only calm his heart. He took a few deep breaths and slowly exhaled. He was trying to be patient and understand. It is not easy to forget first love. Moreover, they were separated not because one betrayed.

Reo only watched Edewina from afar. He's not getting close yet. Let Edewina cry with her two best friends. Perhaps by crying can reduce the burden on the shoulder of the girl.

3 Hours passed......

When the operating room did not open, Reo rushed to the cafeteria to buy mineral water. He then came to take her to Edewina and her two best friends.

"Darling, drink first so you can calm down." Reo's eyes.

Edewina received the bottle from Reo's hand. He opened it and immediately gulped down half of the bottle.

"Do you want to eat? You haven't had lunch." Reo didn't want Edewina to be sick.

"I'm not hungry yet." replied Edewina then leaned back on Clara's shoulders.

Reo just nodded. He then took a seat on a bench not far from them.

Every second that goes by feels very long. After almost 5 hours in the operating room, the doctor finally came out.

"Where is his family?" ask doctor.

"His parents are in Korea. We have not been able to preach them. But I'm his cousin, doc." said Edewina, making Reo quite happy to hear it.

"Operation is going well. It's just that, the piece of glass that entered his stomach made a wound in his intestines. Patients are critical. At any moment his condition could be getting lower. We have to wait 24 hours from now to make sure that the patient gets through his critical period."

"Can we see it?" ask Edewina.

"For a while not yet. But the patient will be moved in the intensive care room, you can see it from the glass."

Edewina nodded.

1 hour later...

Edewina's tears fell again to see Ken's body lying pale and helpless. Only from the glass Edewina could see it and he again cried to see Ken's state.

Reo approached his wife. "Win, Ken's done with the operation. You should have come home to rest."

"I don't want to." Edewina. "I must be here until Ken is declared out of his critical period. I'm afraid something bad happened to her."

Reo again suppressed his emotions. Honestly, it's not that he has no humanity. However, Edewina's current attitude still shows her great love for Ken.

"Honey, you haven't eaten, haven't had a break since you played basketball. It's half past one midnight. What if your acid reflux recur? You will also be treated at this hospital."

"alright. I'm gonna eat. But I don't want to go home. I want to be here, Reo. Please !" please Edewina.

Reo could only nod his head even though his heart was not willing that Edewina would stay here.

They're heading for the canteen. Edewina, Clara and Sinta along with Sinta's girlfriend who is Ken's best friend, they also eat there. After eating, Reo returned to his apartment but he kept telling Edewina to rest.

"He's out of his critical period. The patient even had time to wake up but he finally slept again because of the influence of the drug."

The four people immediately breathed a sigh of relief hearing the delivery from the doctor.

"Win, aren't you going home? Your husband will be angry." said Sinta.

"You guys are still here, how can I go home? Ken is my ex-boyfriend. But now he is my cousin. Our parents haven't told us yet, so who's gonna take care of Ken?"

"Win, at least we should take a break. Me and you will go home, Sinta and Brian will stand guard here. We'll be back tonight." Clara said.

With a heavy heart, Edewina agreed. He picked up his bag and walked out of the hospital. As soon as they arrived at the lobby, Edewina was surprised to see Reo there. He was still wearing that shirt yesterday.

"Reos? You're not coming home?" edewina asked in surprise.

"I slept in the car. You want to go home now?" ask Reo gently. Edewina nodded.

"No. Our direction is opposite. I've booked a taxi." said Clara.

"alright. See you later." said Edewina immediately followed Reo's steps to the parking lot.

No conversation was made while they were on their way. Edewina even fell asleep because she had not slept all night.

Once they reached the apartment, Reo very carefully lifted Edewina's body and carried her inside the apartment. He laid Edewina on the bed and took a blanket and covered her body. After that Ken went to the bathroom. He wanted to take a shower and refresh himself because his body was a little sore because he slept in the car.

Reo falls asleep with Edewina. Unknowingly the two hugged each other and Edewina comfortably lay on Reo's arm while hugging the man's waist.

By nightfall, the two were awake. Edewina immediately moved away from Reo when she realized that she was hugging the man.

"What's wrong?" reo asked as he stroked Edewina's cheek.

"I'm hungry." Edewina immediately got out of bed.

"Darling, do you want to eat now or do you want to take a shower?" ask Reo and follow him down.

"I'm gonna take a shower first." Edewina with a little misbehavior immediately went into the bathroom. He cursed himself who was asleep until he was unaware that Reo moved him from the car could even hug like that.

Reo himself was of course very happy. Hugging Edewina was a feeling that could no longer be said.

He immediately exits the room and finds out that Aunt Adeline is cooking.

"Are you ready, bi?"

Adeline smiled. "Almost ready, sir. Just the soup. I also cook rice."

"Thank you, bi. Edewina said she was hungry but she was in the shower."

Shortly afterwards, Edewina had finished her bath and got down to the carry while carrying her backpack.

"Where are you going?" ask Reo.

"Back to the hospital."

"Honey, I hired 2 nurses there to look after Ken. They'll tell us whatever happens. Before you woke up, the nurse had already sent a message that Ken was conscious. He just asked for a drink and went to sleep again. You better take a break. You have a presentation tomorrow at 8 am." Reo reminded Edewina.

"I'm leaving for college from the hospital tomorrow morning."

"Edewina, why the hell are you forcing yourself to go there? Didn't the doctor tell you Ken was okay?" Reo was getting upset.

"I want to accompany Ken." said Edewina as she put food in her mouth.

"But he was there to take care of her. Is it because you still love him?"

Reo's question made Edewina let go of the fork and knife she was holding. "I'm just looking after him. Ken's parents had no idea about this accident. Who else does Ken have?"

"Did I tell you someone's been looking after him?"

Edewina drank the water in the glass until it ran out. Then he angrily left the dining room.

"Vienna....!" Reo. He held his wife's hand.

"Why?"

"I won't let you go!" reo said firmly while looking at his wife sharply.

"Release ...!" Edewina tried to let go of her hand but Reo was so strong that he held her wrist.

"Be aware Edewina, your presence there will make Ken look back on your love."

"Reo, you're making my hand hurt." Edewina grimaces.

"You'll hurt me so much if you leave."

Edewina did not dare look Reo in the eye. He always loses if he has to look at the man. Edewina's tears were dripping without her restraint. "Let go!" he tried to pull his hand. But Reo did not want to let go of Edewina's hand.
