Guards For The Princess

Guards For The Princess
Chapter 83: East

It was because of that fact that Roland Pratama took his progress slowly, he had the patience and confidence to win his heart piece by piece. But Ardian Prasetya came in the middle of this process. He came out of nowhere, interrupting his initial plans and even forcing him to call someone like Executive Kim to school, completely ignoring any consequences due to how frustrating Ardian Prasetya made him.

The situation has changed at a fundamental level since the moment Executive Kim pulled his gun. Using gangsters to threaten students is one thing, but the crime becomes very serious with Executive Kim firing a gun at the school. Executive Kim exposing Roland Pratama as the person behind all this was the highest worry in his mind at the moment, he would not even be allowed in school anymore, let alone pursuing the love of Elvira, it became impossible now

Ardian Prasetya saw his watch as it came out of Adam's Angkara villa, it was eleven o'clock. There was no class at the moment, and Captain Tang San's injuries were still fresh in his mind. He also forgot to bring his medical items when he moved to this place. He hesitated for a moment, and decided to take a taxi. "Take me to the biggest bookstore in town."

The taxi passed the Southeast Published High School before stopping in front of the Bookstore. The bookstore was tied to a large library and the location was apparently not far from the school, he could walk to school after finishing reading the book if he wanted to.

Ardian Prasetya paid the driver and walked into the Bookstore. He went to one of the staff to ask, and started walking to the medical section.

There are not many people in the bookstore, let alone in the medical department. There was only a clever old man flipping through one of the books as he stood in front of the shelf there.

Ardian Prasetya searched through the categories until he found what he wanted, a book detailing rare Eastern Traditional medicines. Tang San's injuries were complex, his bodily functions were muddled due to the sedatives he was taking. Ardian Prasetya had no idea why the man was still alive, Tang San's family background must have left many other medicine experts, be it modern or traditional confused by his condition.

"Oho! You're interested in Eastern medicine, young man?" The scholarly-looking old man had arrived beside Ardian Prasetya, starting a conversation with him after seeing what Ardian Prasetya was reading. "Actually not really, I just happen to have a background on something like this." Ardian Prasetya nodded and smiled.

"Eh? Did ya? So, are you a medical student? Which university did you go to? It's great to see they haven't forgotten the old methods!" The elder continued, seemingly not listening to Ardian's words at all.

"No-no, I'm from South East Published High School." Ardian Prasetya replied. He did not mind the old man, he could see that he was a true academic. Ardian Prasetya will not respond at all if the man is after something, as will the con man who returned to the train.

"Eh!? A high school student?" The elder was surprised, he did not expect such a young man to be interested in something like medicine, let alone traditional medicine. There are many medical students in college who read medical books just for the sake of their exams, but many of them do not actively seek information about Eastern medicine like Ardian Prasetya. Elder Zhao had been looking for a disciple for many years who would inherit his robe, but to no avail. Till now.

The disciple he was looking for should have a genuine interest in Eastern medicine, what was the point of giving up his coat if the disciple preferred Western medicine as the superior of the two?

"Young man, which do you think is better, Eastern or Western medicine?" Elder Zhao couldn't help but ask that question anymore. "You shouldn't ask that question to young people like me who lack knowledge and experience, but I think both have their own advantages. However, if it is to be honest, I prefer ancient Eastern medicine," Ardian Prasetya said as he closed the book in his hand and pulled out another book from the shelf.

"Western medicine tends to deal with what lies beyond, but Eastern medicine addresses the problem at its core. In some cases you can only handle the core after curing the outer disease, but the core still has to be cured, in order for the patient to recover completely."

Ardian Prasetya's statement seemed ambiguous, but that was what Elder Zhao wanted to hear, nor was he stubbornly fixated on Eastern medicine and against Western medicine. On the contrary, he is also very skilled in Western medicine. Both have their pros and cons, combining them into one complementary whole is the strongest approach to real healing.

"Son, are you interested in applying to medical college?" Elder Zhao asked. He began to like Ardian Prasetya who was focused and seemed sincere. "Sorry, I've never thought that far before. Where I go, it depends on the Old Man being the Guardian for Me. Although he is very annoying, the fact that he is the savior of my life has not changed."

That is the truth. This is not something that must be decided by Ardian Prasetya, his task is to obey Grandpa Prasetya's request and fulfill the wishes of Angkara Adam. He would go straight away without packing to go home instead of thinking about which college to go to, should the President decide to fire him or Grandpa Prasetya call him.

"All right, I get it..." Elder Zhao could not help feeling a little disappointed by Ardian Prasetya's words, but he was not ready to lose someone so rare, just like that. He took out his card and handed it to Ardian Prasetya. "This is the old man's card, young man. You can talk about it with your parents if you are interested in the medical track. I can arrange and prepare things for you, if you want."

Ardian Prasetya did not expect this kind of development, but he still took the card.

Elder Zhao, Director of the First Hospital of the Southeast District.

This man was indeed able to arrange everything for him, even a department head at the Hospital was more than enough for it, let alone the director of the hospital. "Okay, Thank you." Ardian Prasetya did not plan to pursue a medical career, but retained his modesty.
