Guards For The Princess

Guards For The Princess
Chapter 2: Seventy Thousand Dollars

No one knew exactly how strong Grandpa Prasetya was, not even Ardian. During practice, during their sparing sessions, Grandpa Prasetya always held back. Even when there was a huge improvement in Ardian martial arts, Grandpa Prasetya would improve his own skills to always be on top of it. So Ardian always lost to his grandfather.

"Well, you've gained enough experience in the last few years. Since the civil war in the Eastern Province is also over, I think it's time to settle." Even without opening his eyes, Grandpa Prasetya sat on the stone bed and started chewing on a plate of beans.

"So you were raving about money, right? Congratulations, you're really lucky. If you can complete this mission that Grandfather will give you, you won't have to worry about money for the rest of your life."

"Correct?" It is known that since Ardian was adopted at the age of three, all that was taught to him, martial arts, medical skills, and other knowledge was to prepare him for important missions. So, Ardian did not doubt the existence of the mission.

He only had doubts about the reward stated by Grandpa Prasetya. A gift that could make one person rich for life is too good to be true. A stingy man will not be a benefactor unless he dies.

"Bas with this boy, when did Grandpa ever lie to you?" After putting the beans again into his mouth, Grandpa Prasetya said, "So, do you want to go or not? If you don't want to, Grandpa will choose someone else. Grandpa was sure he'd thank you and bow down."

"Ugh, alright, I'll take it and go, okay?" Ardian thought to himself, he would only be an idiot if he rejected the deal as well as this good opportunity. All he needed to do was complete this mission, and he did not need to work until half-dead again and could live in the wealth of those who hired his services.

"Hmm, fine then. Go to the Angkara Murka grub located in the Southeast District and find a man named Angkara Adam there. He'll tell you about the contents of his mission." Prasetya's grandfather grinned and said, "Think about this. Once you accept this mission, you will be bound by a soul contract and unable to leave it."

"Why? Even if the mission becomes too dangerous? I can't back off?" Ardian was not the type of person who would accept a mission if it was a near-impossible mission that from the start had already risked his life. He's not that crazy for hundreds of dollars.

"Listen to me, my grandchild! I've been looking after you for fifteen years. I've been providing food, buying you advanced motorcycles, and firearms!" Prasetya's grandfather's eyes opened wide and began to nag. "All I did was ask you for something. Why do you have so many questions? Is this how you treat your grandfather? Don't you see it, Grandpa even happily painted this room with your favorite color."

"What the fuck..." When Ardian heard what his grandfather said, he instantly exploded in anger. "True, grandfather did take care of me for the first three years, but when I was six years old, grandfather told me to beg and steal on the streets. I make my own food money, even grandfather himself enjoys the results! Then, just so you know that my favorite colors are red and black!"

"Ck, this kid. You really didn't give grandfather any other choice. Don't think you don't know that you sneak out at night to watch porn on your computer!" Prasetya's grandfather looked up and said, "Come, why do people who exercise during the day do something sensual at night. Young people today cannot be expected."

"It's not just that, you're jug—"

"OK-okay, I was wrong, okay? I'll leave without question. Now grandpa's satisfied?" As Grandpa Prasetya wanted to continue with his words, Ardian hurriedly cut him off. Therefore, as her body state began to improve, Ardian packed her bags and took the train to the modern and worldwide Central District.

During the train journey, Ardian's mind was filled with unease, from Grandpa Prasetya's tone of voice, he knew that this mission was not easy, but he was really looking forward to it. A mission that will soon make him retire is something Ardian has always dreamed of. The swimming pool on top of the building filled with beautiful women is his dream.

A man with a scar on his cheek opened a bottle of fizzy drink. He sat across from Ardian with his legs wide open and threw away the bottle cap just like that.

A burly man sitting next to her took off the earbuds from her ear and casually took the bottle cap off and removed something behind it. After a moment of silence, he suddenly exclaimed, "Lu-exceptional! Second prize, seventy thousand dollars?" Although the voice of the man named Bane was not very loud, everyone inside the carriage heard it and they started looking at him with curious eyes.

Similarly to the bottle cap thrower named Tara, she also looked at him with probing eyes. When she sees that the bottle cap she threw away disappears from its place, she realizes that the bottle cap in Bane's hand is actually hers that she just threw away. He stood up and showed a panicked expression. "Hey, it's mine, right? Return it!"

"How do you know this thing belongs to you? Whatis yourname? Is your name written here?" Bane gripped the bottle cap tightly in his hand and exclaimed, "Your name is Second Gift? Don't tell me your name is Seventy Thousand Dollars!"

"No, my name is not that and it's not written there, but the bottle cap was obviously thrown away by me, this bottle is proof." Tara's face curled up in fear as she looked at Bane's angry face. However, since he did not want to lose what should have been his, he denied with a trembling voice and pushed the bottle into the middle, for the people to know the truth.

"You heard it, didn't you? The bottle was thrown away by him. So, since he had thrown it away, this thing was basically trash and whoever took it after that could become its rightful owner!" Bane grinned with a feeling of victory.

"What's? How could that be!" Tara's face panicked, and she looked at the bespectacled man sitting beside Ardian with a look for help. He asked, "You're the one wearing the glasses. You look like a smart guy. You know what he said just now doesn't make any sense? Obviously this bottle is in my hand. So, the bottle cap is mine!"
