Guards For The Princess

Guards For The Princess
Chapter 19: The Gate

The third tower hall is huge. However, compared to the first and second towers filled with books and supplies, the third tower is almost completely empty. There was only one floor with the ceiling open, but compared to the previous two, this third tower had a strange abstract structure. One of the structures that filled it was the stone tablet that Ardian Prasetya had seen before. The other is the platform behind the tablet.

The platform looked like an ancient sacrificial altar. It also looked like a place where heretical sects would display their precious ritual offerings. It was definitely not something from this era, it might not even be from this world.

Without much thought, Ardian Prasetya walked towards the platform. At the top of the platform, Ardian Prasetya saw a wooden box that looked very ancient. He became very excited at the thought that it might contain the Prasetya family secret manual which made Grandpa Prasetya who already smelled the soil very strong.

Ardian Prasetya carefully picked up the box, as the chest was in hand, he quickly jumped off the platform and hid in a corner. The reason for his actions was because he was told that traps were commonplace in such a place. Since he had just picked up the treasure, he was afraid that he had triggered some deadly traps.

After waiting for something, seeing that nothing had happened, Ardian Prasetya heaved a sigh of relief, this place was very old, its trap system might already be malfunctioning. The box carries a hidden desire, its neat closing manner is truly heart-appealing.

However, Ardian Prasetya restrained himself. He was afraid that the box contained something bad. After all, the box was light, he could take it out of the cave. So, he decided not to open the box. After he finished with his treasure chest, Ardian Prasetya once again began to check what else the third tower had.

To the shock of Ardian Prasetya's heart, as he walked to the back of the platform, he saw another stone door leading down. "What'sthis? This place is not a tower, but a basement? No, wait. These towers were already underground, that meant from the very beginning they could not be called towers even though they looked like that. Shit, whatever." Ardian Prasetya began to lose his sanity. He had to get out of this place and stop being greedy for his own safety, but this stone door was so tempting, he could not miss it.

Ardian watched, right beside the door, there was a small stone table by his side. On it, were written several characters of the ancient script in the same style as the previous one. Ardian Prasetya quickly began to read the text carefully. Recalling the previous script, he knew that this was also a terrifying puzzle.

"Fifty perfect rotations later, sit the throne first. Touch the throne in two, try to sit down. If it falls, then crumble or wait fifty rotations."

Ardian Prasetya was confused after seeing his words. The first sentence is clearly related to the moon and time, but the continuation is very unclear. Ardian Prasetya looked at the treasure chest and began to think, "What does the first throne mean has to do with the contents of the chest? Could there really be a magical guide in it?" Ardian Prasetya gulped. In that case, in fifty months, he should have already studied the throne first and returned to this strange place again to obtain the second throne. Just thinking about it sucks.

Ardian Prasetya was a little irritated then decided to try pushing the stone door or smashing it with exertion. To his dismay, the door did not even move and was not injured. If that's the case, the second sentence makes sense. "Damn, what exactly is this first throne? Is that some sort of ancient inner power technique or something?" The more Ardian Prasetya thought, the more fear accumulated in his heart.

The stone gate was right in front of him, yet he could not open it. This makes Ardian Prasetya's heart itch. Logically speaking, since there was already a rare diamond in the first hall, the hall behind this door should have been even more extraordinary. Collection of ancient plants? Prehistoric animals? Maybe the pool is filled with girls. He could only find out what was behind it if he could open it.

Although he was eager to take a relaxing soak in the pool, Ardian Prasetya understood that with his current ability, it was impossible to open the second gate. Right now, he was only lucky enough to be able to open the first gate and enter the first hall.

Since that happened, Ardian Prasetya stopped trying and left the cave with the box. Soon, the dark sky became bright. In the east, the sky turned from a deep blue to a dull grey. This is a sign that the sun is about to rise.

Ardian Prasetya is very happy to have made it out because he almost missed the closing time. If he missed the closing time, he would be trapped inside there, die a horrible death and would be laughed at by Grandpa Prasetya's new successor.

Even if he had a magical ancient technique, he would not survive. Unless he could transform into an immortal entity or gain the ability to survive without food and drink, he might be able to learn all the techniques that were inside there.

As the sunlight entered the valley, Ardian Prasetya saw the stone gate start to close automatically without any warning. The sound of a moving hard object could be heard, followed by a small explosion as the stone gate closed itself.

Ardian Prasetya approached the gate once more as the gate closed. However, no matter what he did, he could not even move the stone door.

Looks like the person who left the message in the monolith is telling the truth. Once the gate is closed, it won't open again. The only way to enter was to wait until it was opened again in fifty months, or Grandpa Prasetya kicked it off the mountain top.

Although it caused Ardian Prasetya a little disappointment, fortunately he still had the box. So, he decided to determine if this was a disappointing trip after he checked the contents.

Just as he wanted to open it, a familiar voice sounded behind him. When Ardian Prasetya turned his head, Grandpa Prasetya was already there. Who knows when he will appear in the back? On another occasion, he had to look for the ability to step without a presence like Grandpa Prasetya in the second tower.
