Guards For The Princess

Guards For The Princess
Chapter 4: Forty Thousand Dollars

Ever since the girl got on the train, she had always listened to her MP3 player. So, Ardian had no chance to exchange greetings or tease him to dispel his boredom on the train. However, at this time, the girl looked at Ardian anxiously, as if she wanted to say something, but could not because she was afraid. So, he hinted at Ardian with his eyes and a light kick from his leg.

Naturally, Ardian knew that the girl was trying to prevent him from being tricked. He felt his heart warm. He recalled that the people of the city were all very selfish. As long as it's none of their business, they won't care. It meant that this girl had a good heart because she wanted to help him.

Ardian's impression of the girl got better. Beauty is an important trait for a girl, but if she is selfish, no one will like her. At least, that's Ardian's standard for a girl. It didn't matter if the girl was evil or arrogant, as long as she was selfless, Ardian would be happy to get acquainted with her.

"Ehm!" Bane was aware of the girl's actions. So, he started pretending to cough and looked at the girl's eyes. So he turned pale and was forced to bow his head down.

Ardian saw everything well, he felt very bored on the trip and he was still annoyed with the Grandfather as well. Since there were three of these idiots, it felt like he could get bored and Ardian decided to vent his frustration on the grandfather to them. There was no way he would let this opportunity pass him by.

Even after the girl started looking down, she constantly warned Ardian by nudging his legs. However, Ardian chose to ignore it and pretended not to understand its warning.

"Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of money. Forty thousand dollars is all I have." Ardian complained as if he felt very upset by the amount of money he was carrying.

The eyes of the three idiots started to shine when they heard Ardian's reply. In particular, their gaze was directed toward the tightly hugged Ardian black bag. They wanted to snatch it right away, but they still had to continue acting.

Tara then put on a sour face. "Just forty thousand? Isn't that too little? How much can each of us get?" He asked like an idiot.

"If it were like that, it would mean that you and I would get twenty thousand dollars while this young man earned sixteen thousand dollars." Bane answered after counting.

"Just twenty thousand? Ugh, whatever, I'm fine with that amount, but what about you?" Tara nodded in agreement with the vexation due to the compulsion on her face.

"Well, since you're fine with this arrangement, there's no reason why I disagree and I'm afraid this matter won't be resolved." Bane also nodded in agreement and said, "Then give me the money!" He raised an impatient hand.

Ardian opened his bag and took out a bundle of money and began to calculate the amount. "It's forty thousand dollars, this is all I have. The cook can confirm the amount if in doubt," replied Ardian with a plain smile on his face. "Now, please give me the bottle cap."

Ardian was confident he had helped Grandpa Pratama earn a lot of money in the past few years. Ardian also strongly believes the true reward of the General's recent assassination mission in the Eastern District must be worth millions of dollars.

Why was it that when he left, his grandfather only managed to get forty thousand dollars out of the drawer? Pratama's grandfather even claimed that it was all he had and asked Ardian to spend it sparingly. After Ardian thought about it once more, he was completely upset and the resentment turned into rage when he saw the shabby sheets of money given by his grandfather.

"Yes, I'll give you, don't worry!" tara and Bane exclaimed as they took a pile of money from Ardian and handed him the bottle cap and the bottle.

Ardian immediately put the bottle in his bag. It was as if it was a precious gem and he was worried that he would lose it. When the girl saw Ardian being tricked, she sighed. He was speechless when he saw Ardian's expression that looked as if he had just reached a very valuable agreement.

The girl could understand it, making sixteen thousand dollars worth of money in a matter of seconds must be like the fall of a shooting star. Unfortunately, now the scam is a success, and the three scammers go back to doing whatever they did before, pretending not to know each other.

The girl stopped nudging Ardian's legs and went back to listening to his MP3. "Southeast Station. Passengers who are down please prepare. The train will stop at this station for fifteen minutes." When Ardian heard the broadcast, he began to prepare to leave the carriage. Surprisingly, the girl beside him also packed his things into a bag. Apparently he also stopped at the Southeast Station.

Ardian glanced at the girl as she stood up and verified that her height was around one hundred and sixty-five centimeters, this girl belonged to the category of tall women in the country.

When Ardian leaves the train, he is fascinated by the beautiful structure of the train station. It had been about ten years since he had visited this place. The changes in the Southeast District are incredible. "Excuse me!" A sweet voice called out to Ardian. He stopped and looked towards the source of the sound.

The owner of the voice was the girl sitting next to him inside the carriage. He waved his hand as he rushed towards her. "What'sthis? Is she in love with me?" Ardian admits that he is quite handsome, but he does not know that he is handsome enough to make the girl fall in love with him at first sight. This is very hard to believe, even though at this time he looks like a farmer who came to the city to find work. "Next time I'll wear a mask. Haih, it's so hard to live as a good-looking person." He was blabbering proudly.

"Hey, Sir. Are you so stupid? You must have been aware of my warning at that time, but why would you want to exchange your money for that suspicious prize money? What if it's a scam?" the girl said furiously.

Ardian was stunned for a moment. Then, he smiled. "Oh, you mean this?" Ardian took out the soda bottle and casually tossed it into the station's trash can.

"Eh?" This time it was the girl's turn to be dumbfounded. He never expected Ardian to do such a thing. "What the fuck? Why did you just throw it away?" exclaimed the girl while pointing at Ardian with his mouth wide open. "Why? Didn't you just tell me it was a fake? Because it was fake, I threw it away. It's no use, is it?"
