Guards For The Princess

Guards For The Princess
Chapter 18: The Cave

It didn't take long for Ardian Prasetya to realize that something was wrong in this martial art. In fact, this may not be martial arts at all.

What Grandpa Prasetya did to him was not teaching but a test of worthiness. Before Ardian Prasetya could say anything, he felt a loud kick in his butt and he was sent flying down the mountain.

Ardian Prasetya could only hear the wind blowing past his ears as he descended. At that moment he felt like he was flying through the air. After a while, Ardian Prasetya finally landed on the ground with high damage.

Ardian Prasetya felt as if all his bones were scattered. Since he was three years old, his body had been soaked in medicines prepared by Grandpa Prasetya in order to strengthen his bones and body. However, falling from the mountain peak was still too heavy to be handled by his powerful body. So, she fell unconscious without knowing why Grandpa Prasetya did something so crazy to her.

By the time he woke up, he was already in a completely unfamiliar place and was only accompanied by a torch trying to fight the darkness and two large suitcases filled with canned food and drink supplies. He stood between three towers that were all interconnected. The first tower, called the Prasetya Family Breathing, contains the science of self-control, emotions, and also the mind. Everything related to death and magic is in this tower.

The second tower is the opposite of the first tower called Prasetya Family Secret Art. There Ardian Prasetya found a lot of techniques to use weapons, ranging from ancient weapons to modern. However, among the many books and parchments stored there, Ardian only chose to study the science of Survival, Modern Cavalry, Divine Medicine, and the Hundred and One techniques of the Prasetya family secrets.

After the food supplies given by Grandpa Prasetya thinned out. Ardian Prasetya entered the third tower gate without a name and entered into the hall. The tower was empty and without a roof, so he could see the full moon above his head. Right in front of him was a gigantic stone tablet on top of which was a strange script written using ancient script.

"On a perfect moon night, the jaws of a wild animal will open. Only special blood can enter. Before the first light, remember to go. Shut up in the dark, will he come back?"

Ardian Prasetya had studied ancient characters in the first tower. So, he could recognize and read the characters on the tablet. When Ardian Prasetya decoded the message, he tried to understand what it meant.

"On a perfect moon night, the jaws of a wild animal will open. Is this not really a puzzle, but a prophecy? Terrible, the perfect moon is the first moon and tonight I open the gate of the third tower under the full moon. But what does that mean for wild animals? There is no other life in this place, not even insects." Ardian Prasetya shook his head, expelling his fret and switched to the next line.

"Only special blood can enter. Then does that mean I'm special?" Ardian Prasetya felt strange and confused. "Surprisingly, is there something special about me? I'm just an orphan adopted by Grandpa Prasetya. Other than a handsome face, I have nothing. In fact, if I was compared to that old fucking Grandpa, then there was nothing special about me at all."

"Before the first light, remember to go. This one is very easy to understand. So, before the sun rises tomorrow, I have to leave this cave. Next stanza, shut up in the dark, will he come back?" Ardian Prasetya thought about this for some time. However, it did not last long, because he immediately knew the answer. "Wait, does that mean that if I don't leave before sunrise tomorrow, the door will close and only open when the next full moon?"

When Ardian Prasetya thought about it, he shuddered in bone-chilling horror. He was grateful to decide to enter the third tower tonight or else he would be stuck here for good. A full moon occurs once a month. So, if he doesn't come out tonight he won't last for the next thirty days with a food supply that's only enough for five days.

Now that Ardian Prasetya knew the rules of this cave, all he had to do was leave before the first light tomorrow and there would be no problem. He feels more relaxed now. Still, I feel very nervous.

Ardian Prasetya then began to observe his surroundings and look for the reason why the room was so bright even though there were no torches around him. As he inspected, he found out to the four walls of the hall as if it was overgrown by the Luminescent Diamond.

If there were anyone else there, they would realize that each of these flaming diamonds were priceless. If they took just one for auction, it would make him extremely wealthy.

However, Ardian Prasetya who made goosebumps with this place, did not dare to take the treasure. Although he was enamored with the beauty of nature, but he who was living in the mountains and on the streets did not know that the treasure was something priceless.

Even if he took it, he wouldn't know where he should sell the stone without being noticed by the stingy Old Grandpa who nurtured it. The richest man around this mountain is just a Chinese widow who opened a restaurant in the village with a net income of about three thousand dollars per year.

No matter how rich they were, they would never spend money on something useless. From Ardian Prasetya's point of view, if he had money, he would rather spend it and get some juicy meat. He would never buy something that was practically useless let alone as a decoration. After all, this shiny object will bring danger if it is known by greedy people.

So, instead of spending time appreciating the lavish decorations, Ardian Prasetya began to examine the hall carefully. According to the Novel he secretly read, if someone comes to a cave or valley there must be coincidental encounters, such as living weapons, curious spirits, to alien technology. He wants it so much!

When Ardian Prasetya thought about it, he began to get more excited, "If I could find a magic bracelet that could turn me into a giant or a stick that could split the ocean, he said, then I won't lose to Grandpa again. Then, when I become so powerful, I will enslave grandfather to build a swimming pool!"
