Chapter 3: Applying for a job

Hansen was about to leave, but suddenly he heard a screaming voice from the room his sister was being treated to.

"To-please don't unplug her breathing apparatus, doc! I promise I'll pay the fee later!" Hendra pleaded while crying.

"Your bills keep piling up. Our hospital is not a charity. I'm sorry sir, but I could be fired if I force it to be handled without the hospital's owner's consent" the doctor said.

Hansen's father immediately prostrated and pleaded, “Please, doc! Give me some leeway to repay the cost!” 

“I am not the owner of this hospital, sir. The order from him is to not provide care again if the previous fee was not paid! See his condition now! He is now being critical and his condition is getting worse every day!”

"Take it! Just pull it off if you dare!" hansen was already at the mouth of the door.

Hansen showed his phone and played back the footage of what the doctor had said earlier. He threatened the doctor, if he dared to disconnect his breathing apparatus, then the tape would be distributed and the hospital would be prosecuted.

Unable to say anything, the doctor gave up. He said that he would meet with the hospital owner and tell him everything to ask for some respite for the Hansen family.

After Cindy's critical period was passed, Hansen immediately said goodbye to his father. Not to forget, he gave all the rest of his money to take care of Cindy's needs.

"I have to get this job" Hansen murmured as he continued to step up. He left the hospital without any money. Just a foot and a newspaper in his hand.

It just so happened that the location of the workplace he was heading to was not far from the hospital. In the paper, it is written that the vacancy is in a five-star hotel called Hotel Permata.

As the name implies, the hotel looks magnificent and shiny like a jewel. He entered the hotel without hesitation. He immediately stepped closer towards the receptionist and declared his goal.

The receptionist called the head of security and asked if Hansen was qualified to work there.

Come out a well-built man, the head of security. He looked at Hansen from toe to toe, assessing the physique of the man in front of him.

“So, you want to work as a security guard here?” tanyakanya.

“Yes, I am ready to be a security guard here!”

“How great are you at fighting?”

“I am confident in my fighting ability. If you want, we can sparring for a bit. Not meant to be arrogant, but if I can be honest, I can beat the father easily.”

This question was just a test to assess Hansen's nature. Whether he is a confident person or not and so on. Then the man said, “Alright, you are welcome to work here. Tomorrow morning don't be late, huh?”

Hansen could only be silent from feeling disbelief in it, "Eh, just like that? I accepted? You're not kidding ‘kan sir?"

"Of course not! Who is joking too! If you ask me again then I'll change my mind" ledek Chief of security.

"Tu .. wait! Don't change your mind. Please accept me to be a security guard here" Hansen reflex bowed.

"Oh, it turns out you can bend over too, huh? I thought you were a proud man for daring to say that."

Hansen did not expect that his first attempt to find a job went smoothly without a hitch. However, he did not want to bother about it because he needed money for his sister's care.

After receiving confirmation that he was accepted for work, Hansen was told to return the next day because the new security guard uniform was not yet available.

Hansen had no choice but to wait for tomorrow.

It was exactly 12:00 noon. But having no money left, he was forced to endure his hunger while walking back to the apartment.

On the way, Hansen stopped his steps right in front of a famous cafe. He stopped because he saw that the cafe was promoting his latest product where everyone can drink a cup of coffee for free.  Hansen immediately approached the cafe because he was interested in the promotion.

But, unexpectedly, just as he was drinking a sip of his coffee. Suddenly his mood broke. He saw Andini sitting with David who clearly had bad intentions towards Andini.

Hansen looked towards Andini with a contemptible look and disgust because of this. He was so upset and irritated to see Andini just shut up when David swiped his leg into Andini's leg.

Just as Hansen was about to leave, his phone suddenly shook.

Hansen looked at the cell phone. He was surprised by a short message sent by Andini. 

125 million. 

That is what is written in the short message. In the message also explained that Andini wants Hansen to sit with himself and David in exchange for money of 125 million.
