CHAPTER 34 THE OTHER SIDE

The glow swept across the garden filled with flower beds with someone sitting alone. Under the glitter of moonlight behind the clouds, he was seen staring at the pus towards the trees that were swept away by the wind. Tears began to flow from his eye patch with a night wind that blew away a few strands of his hair.

His heart rumbled with circumstances that increasingly cornered him. Shadow of the incident last afternoon, again – again haunt him. In her view the night sky with her eyes was puffy which made her look very pitiful. Every word a person spoke made him helpless.

That afternoon, when he had just walked out of the mysterious passageway, someone was already waiting for him with an evil grin on his lips. Heartless, he asked his assistant to forcefully pull and lead him into a room. The girl was none other than Naya. I who happened to be behind Naya chose to follow her without anyone noticing my presence.

I continued to follow them until I arrived at the room. By settling –, I immediately entered because by chance the door was not locked. Hiding while they see what they're going to do to Naya.

The sound of a very loud slap makes me gap with my two perfectly rounded net. The cheeks affected by the slap, begin to look red with the corners of the lips that bleed. Naya, she was injured by a man who thought – was about the same age as Mr. Badir. With cruelty, he slapped Naya again until the girl fell down.

My body shook watching the plagues. However, there was not much I could do at the time. Netraku caught how the look on the face of someone who had slapped Naya. Then, I turned my gaze to look at Naya. He looks helpless.

Roughly, he gripped Naya's chin until the girl grimaced. “You surely know where the girl is?”, he said as he started pulling Naya's hair.

Naya looked back at the man with a look full of ridicule. Confidently, he answered the man's question. “Why? Have you still not found the girl?”, asked Naya with a smirk smile.

Feeling insulted, the man again slapped a very hard slap.

“You only need to answer yes or no, Jalang”, he said by returning to grab Naya's hair. “Badir, where you take refuge will have no hope anymore. He was now dying with poison spreading inside his body. That means he will die”, continued the man by throwing Naya's body into the wall.

“I'm not going to say anything to you, because you are the beginning of the destruction of my life. And if you dare to hurt Uncle Badir, then me and Ray will make calculations with You”, Naya said as she wiped the blood that kept coming out of the corner of her lips.

Naya's words invited laughter from the man. My body became shivering when I heard the man's laughter. With great arrogance, the man whispered something in Naya's ear that I could still hear, because my hiding distance was quite close to them.

“Remember, Cyra is dead. Furthermore, Ray's death will be witnessed by his father and you. Then, then Badir followed his favorite son, and last you”, he whispered while pointing at Naya's forehead with his index finger.

Naya's body stiffened with the look of her eyes that began to weaken. Then, his hands clenched and looked at the man with a sharp gaze as if he wanted to immediately unsheathe man's heart.

“I'm sure, before all that happens, the girl will appear and get everything done soon. You just need to wait for his presence, then you should gather a stratagem in order to win against the girl, Uncle Regal”.

And not for long, the man called Uncle Regal immediately came out with his assistant. The man was the same man as the man who had killed Cyra. I immediately headed towards Naya to help her. Seeing my presence, Naya was shocked and immediately shouted at me to leave from before her.

“You? What are you doing here? You glad to see my condition that always bothers you even almost killed you in a very sad state? You wanna laugh? Please”, shouted Naya who laughed with the corner of her eyes that were increasingly shedding tears.

My heart aches when I see Naya like that. Although Naya always acted evil to me, but she chose to keep my identity a secret that Naya already knew without me noticing.

I ignored her words and chose to extend my hand to help her. Naya just kept quiet without any intention of reaching my hand and chose to ignore my help. I breathed in – deep, then approached towards Naya immediately holding her shoulder to help her get up.

At first he refused, but I did not let go until he resigned. I also took him to a park that has always been my favorite place when I want to be alone. The park is far away from the school. The afternoon sky changed with the twilight sky, then darkened. Naya was still silent and drifting in her mind.

I walked away and left him alone. Observing him from a distance until I followed him to take him home, because the night was getting late. I dropped my body right next to Naya who did not glance at my presence at all.

“Nay, to yuk” hostel, I said as I patted her shoulder gently.

“Naya, your wound must be treated so that it does not get worse”, invite me once again by holding his hand.

“Why did you choose well, whereas you could let me ruin”, he said which immediately made me shake my head.

“At first, I wanted to see you a little slumped. But, ever since I found out that you were just someone that was lured by his master, I decided to help you escape those shackles. When Ray stood up for me, I could see there was a hidden look of sadness in your eyes that I only realized after I knew about you in more detail”, I said as I looked at the night sky.

I heard heavy breathing from Naya. His eyes now turned to look at me with sad eyes.

“Everybody has another side to his life, Nay. Maybe you're a bitch, but you're also a person who needs protection. Naya, can you trust me like you said to that man? Believing that I could solve all this noise?”, I asked while looking at his black neutrality.

“Like you want freedom and justice for yourself, then I also want freedom and justice for my father. Although, I don't know if my father is alive or dead. I just want clarity, Nay”, continued me who has held both shoulders.

A few tears greeted the girl's face. Immediately my finger – wiped the increasingly swollen pretty face and then hugged it. Flowing the pain and fear that is being felt by Naya.

“Thank you, Ra”, he said in the hug that made me sing a smile.

“I should be thanking you, Nay. Choosing a hunchback, even though I know that you do for people – people you love”, reply me who hugged him more tightly.

“Don't hate Mr. Badir, Ra. He is the same as me even more pathetic than me. He was after you, but his son always protected you”, Naya's words made me freeze.

Always protected me? Is the – masked man the son of the man?

Naya who felt my body stiffen immediately chuckled. She took off my arms while smiling sweetly like I had never seen before. “Ray is the son of Mr. Badir”, he said which made me gap.

“Ray is Mr Badir's son? That means you're with Ray's cousin dong? Geez, I think you're Ray's girlfriend, so you look upset and sad when Ray doesn't think you”, I said with a cry.

“Ray is a brother and friend to me. But, everything changed since the threat from Uncle Regal. As a result, my relationship with Ray was tenuous and Ray thought it was all papanya”, explained Naya who made me nod my head repeatedly.

“Then, the video of a girl being hit was yourself, Nay?”, the,

Naya turned her gaze to the sky filled with flickering – flickers of stars. “That was Uncle Regal. He put something in Uncle's drink until Uncle lost control and hit me. Trapping Uncle with me as victim”, Naya's breath sounded.

I fell silent while waiting for the continuation of Naya's story.

“Ra, I want to rest”, said Naya who made me sigh, but I can't force Naya to tell me more.

Along the way to the dormitory, I continued to pay attention to Naya's expression. And when I arrived at the gate of the dormitory, Naya asked me to enter through another road. Housekeeping was very strict, which is why Naya took me to a door I never knew before.

Naya simply smiled in response to my surprise. “There are still many secrets hidden in this school and dormitory. And I believe you, Ra. If you're outside, act like your normal enemy, you understand, Ra?”

I nodded while smiling sideways. “I understand”, replied I feel grateful, because slowly God gave me little by little illumination.
