Elena; Queen of Ardorarias

Elena; Queen of Ardorarias
Part 7; The Residents' Unrest

Elena and the father rushed down from the car. Several residents gathered in front of their homes. Elena and Daniel immediately approached the crowd there.

"What's wrong? What are you guys doing?"

A resident immediately came closer towards Elena and her father. The faces of the citizens there look upset and hold their anger.

"Elena, you better get rid of her and send your friends home!"

"Yes, that's right!"

"They are troublesome and make us restless!" add another citizen.

Elena looked very confused to hear the words of the citizens. He did not understand the meaning of the words of the people who came to him. Daniel also tried to calm down by inviting them all into the house, talking with a cold head.

"We'd better have a chat inside. It's not good to talk outside. Neighbors and other citizens can be distracted by our chatter."

Elena quickly opened the door of her house. Daniel immediately invited the citizens who came to them to come in and chat inside. Residents agreed and finally entered and chatted inside Daniel Rosamun's residence.

Elena served a warm drink that she quickly made in the kitchen, serving it to the residents who came. He stood right behind where his father was sitting.

"So, can we talk about it slowly and with a cool head?" daniel said as people sat on the sofa in his living room.

"Yes" replied one of the residents there.

"So, can anyone explain what really happened?"

One of the residents there raised his hand, Daniel gave him permission to speak, "Previously sorry that we came to your house this late," Daniel nodded and replied gently, "Yes, no problem."

The resident continued, "For a week, more than a week, we all who are here and other residents feel uncomfortable. We all feel uncomfortable because of the many strangers who come to our neighborhood. I don't know what they do, but the foreigners—most of them are young people, making our environment a bad one. They're all so unsettling to the people in the neighborhood."

"Yes, not to mention our environment suddenly many foreigners who use vehicles recklessly. They're very troubling. My toddler almost got hit by their vehicle!" other people added.

"And also I felt a sense of uneasiness as well," the other citizens took over the chat, all eyes focused on him, "A few times in the week, this week, the front door of my house was thrown a rotten egg and also the arrival of a package containing a carcass!" the resident paused for a moment and took a deep breath, "You know the carcass of the animal I received on whose behalf? Sent to Elena Rosamun!"

Elena and Daniel were very surprised when they heard the words from the residents there. Elena suddenly felt sad and knew who this was. He felt because he was the people there felt something unsettling like this.

"So what exactly are you doing, Elena?! Why would anyone give these carcasses away and disturb our environment?!"

"...forgive me."

Elena's voice just came out. His eyes were already sparkling as it held back the tears that were about to fall. Daniel who was sitting in front of Elena turned to her son, grabbed Elena's palm and held it. Daniel shook his head slowly towards Elena, hinting that her daughter could hold back her cries and act more strongly.

One citizen felt guilty hearing Elena's apology, "We don't actually blame you, Elena. We all know you are a nice and friendly boy. Even if they say they are your friends, we all don't believe. But we can't survive in our environment like this. They all disturb our environment. What exactly happened to you?"

"Did you make a mistake until they came to terrorize you, Elena?" ask other people.

"I don't care what your problem is with all of them, I just want them to leave our neighborhood. My son can't play comfortably, not even in my own yard."

The residents there suddenly rekindled emotions. Elena felt even more depressed because of the words of the citizens. Daniel, who felt his daughter's hand shake, clasped Elena's hand. He smiled before taking over the conversation that night.

"I'm sorry if you've all felt uncomfortable living in our own neighborhood lately. We don't really know for sure what they do or want. I want to apologize for your inconvenience, and hope you are patient a little. Before I got home, I went to the nearest police station and reported this. Some cops will start to stand guard and throw them all out tomorrow morning. I hope you all are patient. And Elena and I are truly sorry for harming you all."

"Is it okay to throw them all out?" ask one of the people.

The other citizens hit the citizen's arm, "What do you mean? They're unsettling. And they have no need in our environment. We should have kicked them out."

"They are unsettling and make me uncomfortable. But they say they're all Elena's friends. How can we kick them out?"

Just now that Daniel wanted to answer their debate, one of the other residents immediately snatched, "If Elena and Doctor Daniel alone feel uncomfortable, that means they are not friends of Elena. Even Doctor Daniel said he did not know the purpose of the young people coming and terrorizing Elena."

Daniel nodded in response to the words of the citizens. He then raised his left hand and saw a clock curled around his wrist. The clock has shown twelve o'clock past. It's past midnight.

"When it is past midnight, it would be nice if we continue this conversation tomorrow. And also tomorrow morning I have to meet the police who were sent to guard our neighborhood. Some of you have to take a break to work tomorrow, right?"

Aware of interrupting the time to rest, the residents immediately apologized to Daniel and permission to return home. They apologized for interrupting the break and thanked Daniel for being quick to ask the police for help to protect their environment.

After the return of the citizens, Daniel also looked at Elena. Elena's tears just flowed as her father hugged her tightly.

"You need to be strong, Elena. It's not a serious problem. But you should be able to learn a lesson from it all."
