Elena; Queen of Ardorarias

Elena; Queen of Ardorarias
Part 25; Princess Elena's First Assignment

"Pardon Elena for coming in late!"

Elena walked over to her father, who was waiting in a small shop. Elena made a promise to her father so they could spend the afternoon and have dinner together. They can only spend time together for dinner.

Elena's hand was held gently by the father. Gently patted and given a very soothing smile from her father who was sitting right in front of Elena. Elena was made to feel guilty for making her father wait long enough.

"I'm sorry Elena, Dad. Elena had made Dad wait too long" Elena said as she lowered her head, "Elena didn't mean to keep Dad waiting."

"Bless your head, Elena. You've said that a lot, haven't you?" elena's head lifted and looked very guilty, "Dad's fine. I'm happy enough to wait for you, Elena. So you can enjoy your free time alone."

"I'm sorry Elena, Dad. Elena's really sorry."

"Listen, Elena. I know you really feel guilty, and I don't know what makes you late. I don't want to know because I know it must be something urgent for you." Elena's father's face turned serious, "But remember this, Elena. Make sure you arrive first when making an appointment. Don't come too late. Especially to make others wait. And, if you are forced to come late, just give him a message like you did to Dad earlier. There's no need to give a reason why you should be late, because that's unnecessary."

Elena nodded in understanding, "Thank you for trying to understand Elena's delay, Father."

The father nodded his head, "Yes. And remember this, Elena. Never make anyone wait. We better wait. Even if you will ascend to the throne as Queen later, try not to make others wait. Especially if you wait too long."

...***...

Elena has implemented what her father used to say. He was trying to appreciate the time more and did not want to keep others waiting. It was better for him to wait than for him. Because it is true, waiting is something very unpleasant. Try not to keep others waiting.

"I'm sorry for my delay, Princess Elena."

Viktor Recago bowed himself in front of Elena. It was obvious that the look on the Minister's face felt guilty for making Elena wait. This is what her father saw in Elena.

Seeing the Minister of Agriculture and Plantation apologizing while bowing his body, made Elena immediately rise up and hold the Minister to bend his body for too long. The minister straightened his body.

"There's no need to apologize because we're meeting in five minutes" Elena muttered, trying to make Viktor feel less guilty.

Elena shook her head quickly, "Right now I am your subordinate. Don't consider me a Princess any more consider me a son of the King. The king has already ordered you to be my guide, helping me on my first assignment." Elena reached out her hand to Viktor, "I should apologize to you because my earlier remark was very inappropriate. And again sorry to have made you in a hurry. Please accept my apology."

Viktor Recago was impressed by what Elena said. He had previously doubted this young girl before him. He had felt that Elena was just an innocent young girl, clueless and still immature. He also doubts if Elena will rise to become the successor of the Kingdom of Ardorarias. But right now, all his bad thoughts about Elena were open. Their second meeting was quite memorable and managed to win the Minister's heart a little.

Viktor grabbed a helping hand from Elena, shaking the hand of the next successor of the Kingdom of Ardorarias. Sincerely he prayed that what he thought was wrong. And hoping that in the future, this girl before him managed to break his bad thoughts.

"please guidance. And I beg you to consider me like your other subordinates. Say it wrong if I do something wrong. And tell me the truth if I do something right."

Viktor nodded in understanding, "Welcome to my private room, Elena." Viktor's words that then turned serious also made Elena straight up, he listened to Viktor's words carefully, "I don't know how long you will be under my leadership. To be sure, when you are under my leadership, you must follow what I say."

Elena nodded in understanding, Viktor resumed what he wanted to tell Elena. But before that he expelled his personal assistant and Elena's personal assistant. Leaving Elena alone with him in his study.

"I want to throw you a question, Elena. How far do you know about the work at the Ministry of Agriculture and Plantation?"

Elena took a slow breath, she acted as calmly as she could when she answered Viktor's question, "I understand the basic duties of the Minister of Agriculture and Plantation," Elena handed him the map she had brought and gave it to Viktor, "I'm sorry if I broke the rules, but I've known so far."

The map was given by Elena and read it fast. Viktor's face suddenly changed when reading the contents of the map given by Elena. A sense of tension pervaded him and tried to remain calm before Elena.

After closing the map, Viktor smiled at Elena, "Sorry if you should know about this from someone else. I should have told you. But since you already know first, can you give me an opinion on this?" Viktor then invited Elena to sit on the sofa in his study, "Previously sorry because I forgot to invite you to sit down. Let's sit down, Elena. We had a casual discussion today."

Elena followed what Viktor said. After sitting on the sofa, Elena started giving opinions on things she knew. Viktor calmly listened to Elena's opinion. Elena's answer was very good for the size of the person who had just started working with her. Once again Viktor's heart opened up a little about Elena.

"I have never checked the life history of my subordinates before if they do not catch my attention. And usually I ask them directly about their short biodata," Viktor looked seriously at Elena, "Who's the one who taught you about government as long as you're outside the palace, Princess Elena?"

Elena smiled and proudly replied, "My father. Daniel Rosamund."
