Chapter 24 - Falling Victim Again

Paimin's grandfather was taken to the local police station in the district. The police officer named AKP. Wijayanto who happened to be still in the office, listened to his case report with a frown.

"I honestly don't believe the deaths of the victims were caused by witchcraft. The results of the autopsy have not come out, the results of lab tests on toxins have also not been received until now. We shouldn't have put Grandpa Paimin in a holding cell. But for his safety, he must be brought here." AKP. Wijayanto said to his men.

"I'm innocent, sir! I didn't kill them. They just massage me as usual. Nothing is strange. I also don't know why they could suddenly die after coming home from my house." Grandpa Paimin said softly.

"Here you go, we just wait for the results of the autopsy and laboratory tests. Maybe tomorrow the results will come out. For a while, Grandpa stayed here first," said the AKP. Wijayanto.

AKP. Wijayanto gets an incoming call from his best friend, AKP. Hendarto. He recounts the shaman witchcraft case that is being handled. AKP. Hendarto was very interested in his case.

Actually I have a guy who is good at solving mystery cases.

Akp Voice. Hendarto across the phone.

"Well, that's great. If you are not busy, maybe you can send your men to help us here" said the AKP. Wijayanto.

All right, tomorrow I'll make a duty letter and send them there.

AKP. Hendarto accepted his friend's request.

In the middle of the chatter, came a crowd of citizens huddling the police station.

"What's this?" ask AKP. Wijayanto to his men who were busy calming the villagers who looked very angry.

"We want Grandpa Paimin burned alive! Just now there was another citizen who died suddenly. He also had a massage this morning at Grandpa Paimin's place," said one resident representative.

"That can't! Grandpa Paimin is under our supervision. No one can touch it!" AKP. Wijayanto said firmly.

"But if he is allowed to live, there will be more casualties" said another villager.

"We have to wait for the results of the autopsy and laboratory tests tomorrow, then we can confirm the cause of death of the victims." AKP. Wijayanto tried to calm the people.

The villagers would not leave the police station. They urged to bring Grandpa Paimin to be burned alive with his house which is suspected as a den of witchcraft.

"Wait first! I have someone who can help solve this case!"

AKP. Wijayanto contacted AKP. Hendarto and requested that Pramuja and Zulfikar immediately come there.

AKP. Hendarto contacted Pramuja to immediately go to Purwakarta tonight.

The steward was already sitting in a jeep driven by Zulfikar. After getting a call from his superior, he immediately invited Zulfikar to go to Purwakarta. The distance between Jakarta and Purwakarta is about 96 km with a distance of about 1 and a half hours.

"Do you believe in witchcraft, Pram?" zulfikar asked, breaking the silence.

"Yes, I must admit that such things do exist. If this case is true due to witchcraft, it will certainly be very difficult for the police to uncover it" said Pramuja.

"That's why we were told to go there as soon as tonight, isn't it?" Zulfikar pressed the gas pedal even deeper.

"That's right, Zul! But remember, keep your speed up! Don't drive outside the normal speed limit." Steward reminded.

Zulfikar also reduced the speed of the vehicle he drove.

After about an hour and a half, they arrived at the local police station, where Grandpa Paimin was secured.

"Looks like we're not too late, Pram!" zulfikar said, as he looked at the crowd of people waiting in front of the police station.
