A village in the remote Purwakarta district, shocked by the sudden death of two of its citizens. Their bodies were found in the middle of the road not far from the house of Grandpa Paimin who works as a masseuse. The victims had gone to Grandpa Paimin's house for a massage.
Local police have brought the bodies of the victims for further investigation. Evidence the victims touched was also brought, including glasses and plates used to eat and drink them. Indeed, after finishing the massage, they stopped by the stall near Grandpa Paimin's house to eat and drink there. The massage oil that Grandpa Paimin used for massaging was also seized by the police.
Feeling awkward about the deaths of some of the villagers, the villagers suspected that Grandpa Paimin had killed them with witchcraft. Before he died, some of the dead men went for a massage to Grandpa Paimin's house.
The villagers became very angry and planned something to avenge Grandpa Paimin's actions.
Later that night, residents flocked to raid Grandpa Paimin's house. They were carrying torches, ropes, and some gasoline jerry cans.
"Get out you witch doctor!" shouted one of the residents in the yard of Grandpa Paimin's house.
"If you don't want to go out, burn the house down!" shouted the other citizens.
"Burn!!! Burn it!!! Burn it!!!"
There were some residents shouting while brandishing the torch in their hands.
"W-What's this a fuss?" Grandpa Paimin who came out from hearing the commotion outside became astonished.
"Don't pretend you don't know! You have killed the villagers who came to your house with witchcraft!" hardik a citizen.
"Where there are thieves who want to nail me! Let's burn him and his house!" A citizen started to provoke.
"Burn!!! Burn it!! Burn it!!" shouted the other citizens.
The residents immediately stormed Grandpa Paimin's house. Paimin's grandfather was arrested and tied to a rope they had prepared. His body was tied to one of the wooden poles of his rickety home.
Some residents began pouring gasoline around the house and the body of Grandpa Paimin.
"Wait on! Stop that!" shouted Mr. Kades while seizing the torch and throwing it away from the area doused with gasoline.
The police help untie the bonds that are wrapped around Grandpa Paimin's body. They also drew water in the well next to Grandpa Paimin's house and flushed his body that had been drenched in gasoline by residents.
Cold water seeps wet the body of old Grandpa Paimin. The piercing coldness was certainly nothing compared to his body being burned by the citizens.
"If not burned, more and more victims will fall, Mr. Kades!" One of the residents protested.
"These police officers came here to investigate the case. The bodies of the victims are now undergoing an autopsy process to determine the cause of death. Let's wait for the results. Don't just accuse people and act vigilante!" Mr. Kades looks furious with the behavior of his citizens.
"That's right, fathers .. mothers ... If you're a vigilante, you'll deal with the law. Burning people for whatever reason is not justified by the laws of our country. You can be charged with premeditated murder because you have prepared everything to bind and burn this grandfather. His sentence could be life imprisonment, even the death penalty, you know!" A police officer warned.
Hearing the threat of punishment from the police officer, villagers looked at each other in fear. They do not want to be arrested because of vigilante and must receive life imprisonment, let alone the death penalty.
"So how's this, sir? We don't want any more victims of witchcraft sent by Grandpa Paimin." A citizen ventured to speak.
"For a while, we'll secure him to the police station. Although there is no evidence, this grandfather is a suspect in this case. In order to avoid unwanted things, we will secure it tonight." The police officer immediately made his decision. Bringing Grandpa Paimin to the police station was the best solution to secure him from the rampage.
The police also agreed with the decision of the police officer. At least Grandpa Paimin wouldn't dare to do anything at the police station.
Police officers allowed Grandpa Paimin to change clothes before leaving for the police station in the district. Paimin's grandfather could only surrender at the midfielder to the police station.
After the police cars moved away, the villagers dispersed in an orderly manner. They hope that Grandpa Paimin will get severe punishment for his actions.
