DEAD

DEAD
Section 29

Rana went into Daffa's room crying. Rena who was sitting on the edge of the bed at that time was shocked to see her brother doing that. Rana is the type of woman who rarely cries if she does not really feel hurt, Rena knows that.

Rena wanted to ask, but her intention was undone. Her brother must have taken some time to calm down. Rana does, preferring to be alone when feeling sad. Not long after Rana entered the room and sat down beside Daffa, the boy's eyelids twitched for a while and then opened. Daffa's awake.

Rana who first saw it instantly wiped away the tears and hugged her child.

“Daffa you wake up, son,” he said happy.

Rena smiled happily, there were tears filling her eyes, but not to the point of falling. Daffa finally woke up.

“Mama why?” ask Daffa lirih.

Rana shook her head, this time she cried again but with happy tears, not sad, continued to hug her son tightly.

“I call Brother Yudha, well.”

Rena ran out of the room and came back with Yudha, the man's face was relieved, not like before. Rana did not look at her husband, and vice versa. Rena realized what made her brother cry. She had a fight with her husband.

“Daffa sleeps a long time, papa worried very much earlier.” Yudha approached after Rana took off her arms at Daffa, and carried the child into her cradle.

“What dream is it to not want to wake up?” ask Yudha.

Daffa seemed clueless, but in return he smiled, then said, “Daffa is hungry.”

“Wait for mom takein, well.” Shane quickly exited the room. Arriving in the kitchen, she realizes that she has no time to cook for dinner. Luckily Rena had cooked before, even though the food was already cold.

After work, Rana went straight to her son's room and called a doctor who had handled Daffa a few days ago when she fell down the stairs. Rena had already told her what had happened and Rana felt it was strange, so she called another doctor to make sure and it turned out that the Daffa doctor had only slept, not fainted, especially the coma like Dara was worried about before.

Like yesterday and what he had said before, Yudha came home late. He comes with a doctor who is his own best friend from High School. Rana had indeed informed Yudha of what had happened to their son and what the doctors had said. Feeling that it was too strange, Yudha also decided to bring a doctor.

The result was the same, Daffa was just sleeping. The doctor was also astonished, not understanding why Daffa could experience such a thing.

“But I am sure it is true that this Daffa is sleeping.”

Rana recalled the doctor's words while entering her son's room. He smiled, glad that Daffa had woken up from his sleep. In his hand was already a tray containing a plate of food and a glass of drinking water.

Yudha lowered Daffa onto the bed, Rana then sat down in front of her son while feeding.

“Let mama sleep with Daffa, well,” said Rana. “In room Daffa.”

“Papa's name too, well?” ask Daffa after swallowing his rice.

Rana was silent, Yudha smiled for a moment. “The bed is too small for the three of us. Not load,” reply.

“But we ‘kan can sleep in the room mommy equally papa, there the bed is spacious. Load.”

“Your father still has work to do, tonight Daffa sleeps together with mama aja,” timpal Rana. That way the talk about co-sleeping didn't continue anymore, changing the topic.

***

Rana woke up feeling that something very cold was touching her cheeks, so cold that she felt shivering. But there's nothing. The digital clock on the Daffa study table shows three o'clock late, it's early morning. Daffa had fallen asleep again beside her, which made Rana wonder because the child was still able to sleep after sleeping for a long time.

Smiling, Rana gently rubbed her son's hair, making Daffa move in her sleep. When she saw the face of her son who was sleeping soundly, Rana felt a little tightness in her heart. He pondered his quarrel with Yudha earlier.

It's true, her husband has a point. Rana realized that all this time she was very selfish, more concerned with her desire to become a career woman than taking care of her own child. Daffa must have felt very lonely and now sad because the one who took care of him was not his mother, but his aunt. Seeing her son in this state, Rana was truly sorry.

Now she is a mother, having the responsibility to take care of and raise her child. Rana began to feel that she had to give up her job for the sake of her son. Yes, he was thinking of quitting his job to take care of Daffa.

“I'm sorry mom just realized now, son,” muttered Rana then kissed Daffa on the forehead.

He heard laughter from Daffa's room. The sound of girls laughing, screeching and sounding scary. Suddenly Rana felt creepy and woke up from her sleep. The voice sounded very close, like it was coming from under the bed.

Slowly he went down and looked down at the bed. Rana fell backwards so surprised. In front of him, right under the bed was a terrifying figure that was crawling out, approaching him.

Little girl, that figure was a little girl whose face was very pale with bluish and chapped lips. Around his eyes were dark circles that made him even more sinister. His two-braided hair twitched along with the deliberate movement of his head tilted.

His clothes were shabby, long-sleeved and no longer clean. Lots of dark brown stains on that ivory-white cloth, which Rana guessed was blood. The brown skirt he wore was also full of blood stains that were not very clear, but could still be seen.

Rana immediately stood up, subconsciously walking backwards as the figure continued to approach her.

“Hihihi.” The figure laughed again, revealing his toothless front and irregular.

Rana did not say anything, still surprised. He had indeed been reminded of the house before buying it, but he did not care at all. His family did not believe much in such things, let alone his father. His mother always said that in this world it is not only humans who live, there are other creatures. Not a demon or a ghost, but a genie. Therefore Rana also never believed in the name of a ghost, but now ... in front of him already stood a creepy figure that moved his hand up, pointing at an empty corner beside Rana.

Rana looked over hesitantly and was increasingly surprised. His body was frozen, completely scared. Beside him stood another figure that was no less terrifying. Even that figure was the most terrifying thing Rana had ever seen in her lifetime. Face crushed with one eye, lips torn, arms broken. Unable to bear it, Rana finally fainted. Before he was completely unconscious, the last thing he could see was that horrifying face grinning at him, spaced very close to his face.
