DEAD
Section 22

Dara's body stiffened. Just this time he heard a huge singing voice, but that was not what kept him quiet on the spot. Except for the fact that the person who sings is definitely not human. She is alone at home, although Dara is not alone just living with her grandfather. No other woman lived in the house but her.

The longer the sound gets louder, the lower the pitch played. Then the tempo became faster. The chant turned into an unclear murmur, but it did not reduce the horror that was in his voice. Smooth and heavy, as if the sound came from another dimension, another world that Dara could not reach. It's just so close to him.

His hair was bristling, his heart was starting to beat fast. Slowly Dara was able to regain control over her body, she turned her head in slow motion. In his brain already flashed the shadows he saw in a dream while he was staying at Rena's house. Faces cracked with almost all-white eyes, the fedora-hated man holding his loose head, hands and heads that appeared on the window and flailing towards him. All appeared and added to the horror in his body.

Now, one more figure was seen by him. The beautiful woman was wearing a lacy white shirt that stood behind her. Dara could see her blonde hair braided, then clamped and styled with elaborate models, but strangely it looked beautiful. The figure suddenly fell silent, silent for a moment.

In that gripping silence, Dara several times swallowed her own saliva. The other voices seemed to be gone, only his heartbeat could be heard. It becomes background music that adds tension.

Still turning his back on Dara, the figure said something in a foreign language. Dara did not understand what she was saying, but if from her tone, it was like a sentence of prohibition or threat, or like that. Sounds like an angry person.

Dara flinched as the figure turned around and stared with an empty cavity on her face. There are no eyes where there should be eyeballs, only black holes. His face was pale with blue lips that just kept saying something out loud.

Dara retreated slowly as the figure that was moving forward, approached towards her. Quickly his hand picked up the phone on the study table and immediately contacted his grandfather.

“Grandpa where? Hurry home now, Dara wants to talk,” said Dara trembling as her grandfather answered his call.

“Why you?” ask his grandfather at the end of there.

“Again ... hello? Huh hello? Grandpa? Hello, Cake? Grandpa said what?” Disturbed's call. The sound Dara heard was not clear, like a broken radio. Following a long hum, then his phone died. Dara tried to turn the phone back on, but still could not.

When he looked, the figure was already right in front of him. Dara suddenly moved backwards, but her body was held back by a table. Before she could run in the other direction, Dara was already held back by a pale arm that felt very cold.

“Leasin! What do you really want? Who is that?!” Dara rebelled, trying to break away. She is not a weak girl, friends with Arsya and Marvin make her train often. But this time his strength was defeated strongly by the eyeless woman before him.

The blue lips chapped the figure moved slowly, giving off a smooth and heavy sound that gave goosebumps. Dara still did not understand what the figure was saying.

“Gue doesn't understand, so mending you let me go and go. I am not afraid of you at all!”

After trying to gather all her courage, Dara loudly said that. Either the figure understood it or not, but he obviously wanted the figure to know that he was not weak enough to be afraid of. At first he was horrified, but not anymore. Somehow Dara felt that the figure would not hurt her.

“Stop!” said the figure then with a foreign accent. Dara's reflexes followed what the figure said, not moving anymore. “Stop. Don't interfere in this business. You can die.”

Dara did not say anything for a while, still shocked to hear the figure speak Indonesian.

“Lo who?” dara asked after coming to her senses from her shock.

Suddenly the figure released its grip on Dara's arm, then held her head and screamed in pain. It was so loud, that Dara quickly moved away from where the figure stood.

“Pe—go!” exclaim that figure, then scream again. His voice sounded so painful.

Dara did not understand the figure talking to her or to something that was causing her pain. He only realized when the figure had suddenly changed appearance. His face, which had originally been cracked, turned into a crumble. His eye cavity that was empty, now the one on the right began to fill with eyeballs sticking out like they wanted to jump out of place. While the left continues to bleed blackened.

His torn mouth grinned sinisterly. There were small animals twitching between their rotten teeth and gums, caterpillars and maggots. Worse still, the two arms of the figure instantly slipped off and fell to the floor, as if they had been forcefully pulled. Blood poured out from the base of his arm.

Dara shuddered. Now he again felt the horror he had felt earlier and this time the horror was felt many times over. The figure was moving his head in a sinister manner. As he stopped and returned grinning widely, he said in a hoarse and heavy voice.

“Mati ..”

The figure charged quickly. Dara immediately ran to open the door and exited the room. He was shocked when he reached the middle of the stairs, the figure was already right behind him. With one move, he pushed Dara. Dara rolled up to the bottom of the stairs.

That figure is no longer visible. Dara was grateful that her legs just sprained. The place fell down was not too high. Just then the door opened and his grandfather appeared with a worried look.

“From!” exclaimed his grandfather when he saw Dara was sitting on the bottom of the stairs, still using a towel while holding his feet. “Why you?”

Dara did not immediately reply, just looking at her grandfather. From that look, his grandfather knew that something had happened to his grandson.

“The story is all the same grandfather,” his grandfather said in a stern tone, which means no rejection.

“Because of that I told everything to grandpa.”

Rena was surprised to hear Dara's story. Previously he had a hunch that the fall of Dara from the stairs must be the same as the fall of Daffa from the stairs. Caused by something invisible. But hearing directly from Dara's mouth, still surprised him.

“Say grandfather, before the ghost of the house never appeared anywhere else, which makes them able to appear in this house because I brought a book from there. The book is like a medium for them to stay. Wherever they are taken, they can go. But what makes me confused is .... besides Anna, who is the other one?”

Rena and Dara were both silent, until a while later they looked at each other and turned their backs.

“Maybe she ...”

Rena did not continue her sentence, even though Dara knew whose name Rena would mention, Sophie.
