It was already evening, Serena was busy preparing a bed for Louis. The man asked to stay there for a few days before returning to the city where he worked.
"It feels like this house is filled with children...." Muttering Serena, he let out a tired sigh.
When they ate earlier Louis and Van did not stop fighting, even the two men almost punched each other. The van that always stuck to Serena infuriated Louis and distanced the man, but the van that did not accept was also angry and lured Louis even more.
"Rest in mom's room" said Serena, sitting on a large sofa where Louis was watching TV.
"Is that stray dog no longer attached to you?" Louis was still upset because Serena let Van stick constantly.
Serena turned her face towards Louis, the girl smiling sideways as she leaned her back against the soft sofa they were sitting on.
"He was like that, didn't I tell you?" Serena said calmly.
Louis let out a rough sigh, the man now sitting facing Serena. This time his face really looked serious, the bright blue bead was glistening inside the dark room where there was only the light from the TV and the dim lights.
"See, I know you don't like people asking questions, but tell me the truth about the boy," Louis's gaze softened, "you know I'm so worried about you, don't you?" Sluggishly.
Serena was silent, her eyes still focused on looking at the flaming TV. Even so, he was actually confused how to answer the words of Louis just now.
"I don't know how to say it," Serena began to open her voice.
Now Louis again put on a serious face, he was really ready to accept if it turned out Serena said that Van was his lover.
"Actually I..," Serena hesitated, "she's not the one who works for me," the girl's sentence was cut off again.
Louis held his breath, his hands clenched tightly until his handbooks turned white. Spheres of sweat began to appear one by one at his temple.
"I found her in the forest," continued Serena, "I had a chance to meet her a few times, then I brought her here when she was injured," Serena smiled faintly.
Louis stared, he opened his eyes in disbelief with his mouth open.
"He's a smart kid, Louis. There's no harm in me letting her stay here, is there?" Serena sighed softly, "well, at least until I find her family-"
"Wait, where did you find it?!" Sergey Louis, "you allow a stranger you don't know where he came from to live in your house?! Serena, are you crazy?" It was clear that Louis was panicking and not accepting.
"I knew you'd do this...." Serena looked at Louis lethargicly.
"What?! Then what do you think I'll be like?! Can I just relax and say wooowwww Serena you have a new friend from the woods!! Do I have to?!" Upset Louis.
Serena tried to calm her best friend, she explained at length all about Van. However, Louis did not accept the explanation and insisted on asking Serena to expel Van.
"If you don't want to throw him out right now, then I'll call the cops." Said Louis coldly, the man got up and went into the room and came out again while wearing his jacket and carrying the car keys.
"Wait, Louis. What the fuck are you?!" Angry Serena.
"I? Me why? You're the reason, Serena. You brought a stranger into your house without knowing his origin." It was obvious that the man was holding his tone as hard as possible.
"You don't understand.., Louis," Lirih Serena, "I know you're worried about my situation, but I beg you... I also have a reason why I left it here...." Said slowly.
Louis looked, his emotions were now in the crown but as much as possible he was dim.
"Explain, explain what your excuse is" Louis' heavy voice churned in the middle of his silent night, "do you like it?" Louis asked with a look in my eyes.
Serena looked up, Louis was so tall that Serena was just her chest.
"There's something you don't see, but I see it..." Serena, her eyes still staring at Louis's blue bead, "believe me, at least until I find her family" she said slowly and expectantly.
Louis breathed his coarse breath, the man ruffled his hair in frustration. He really did not accept it, but seeing Serena like that also made his heart full.
"I'm worried, Serena. I can't take care of you, which is why I'm so scared when there's someone else by your side" he said softly, "next year, I'll be free and be able to come back here to take care of you" he added.
Serena rubbed Louis' cold hand slowly, understanding that the man was very worried about her.
"Trust me, besides that I also want to ask you for help, but since you're busy I'm trying to hold back"
"So this is why you're asking me to find information about those missing people?" Cut Louis.
Serena scratched her non-itchy nape, "i didn't answer you'd know the answer, you'd know" Serena said softly.
Louis just stared flat at the girl, he took off the jacket he was wearing. They were both speechless before Serena was startled by Louis who suddenly hugged the girl tightly.
"Sorry, Serena.., sorry for not being able to always be by your side...." Sluggishly.
Serena, who had wanted to wriggle, was now silent to let Louis hold her tightly, she could feel how the man's sincere embrace was filled with worry.
"You don't have to feel guilty about it. " Serena said softly, she patted Louis on the back, "I'm not a weak little boy anymore, Louis." His voice now sounded soft.
Louis smiled, he just kept silent as he hugged Serena tightly.
"Looks like I should make a warning sign, uhm..., what date is today?" Ask Louis slowly.
Serena looked up, "warning? What's for?" Said astonished.
"This is the day you spoke softly to me, well, although mixed up with a shitty incident, anyway...." Louis's light voice made Serena push the man to fall onto the sofa.
"Basic sucks!" Ketus Serena's.
The night ends with a light conversation between them, Serena forcing Louis to go to sleep because she doesn't like to see him staying up all night.
Alongside all that, Van was standing stiffly in front of the back door. The man wanted to open the door but he abandoned his intention.
"Flower....?" Sluggishly.
