BETWEEN THE CEO AND MAFIA 2
Morning Discussion in the Village

Bayu sat on a wooden cot in front of Bara's house while looking at the rustic atmosphere that is still beautiful. Occasionally pass by villagers who start their morning activities. The average passerby wearing a caping and carrying a hoe on the shoulder, can be guessed if they are farmers who want to go to the fields or fields.

The distance between the houses there is quite far apart and the number of residents is still small. Access to the road is only a path like a forest road. It seemed like the village was located in the middle of the forest. The atmosphere is quiet, not noisy, suitable as a place to calm down.

The house that Bayu lives in is very simple, made of wood with a solidified floor. Bara lives with his father and adoptive mother who is around 60 years old. They are very friendly to welcome Bayu.

Puncture wounds on Bayu's waist have been handled more properly. Before returning home, Bara first took him to the doctor where he knew him. In that place, Bayu's wound got some stitches because the incision of the knife that hit it deep enough. After that, the wound was smeared with medicine and then wrapped in bandages around his waist.

"Fried banana?"

Bara brought a plate of fried bananas and two cups of warm tea to Bayu's front. He sat on the couch opposite Bayu.

"Where are your mom and dad?"

"Have gone to the fields to check the vegetables they have grown."

"Are they not suspicious of my arrival?"

"It looks like you're relaxed to bring a wounded stranger home."

"Haha.... They also know I'm an undercover cop."

"The villagers here no one likes that rebel group, even though it comes from the same land."

"I said you were my friend, so they also thought that you were like me, an undercover cop on a mission."

"Come, eaten!"

Bara took one fried banana, followed by Bayu. Fried bananas eaten while still warm taste good, especially coupled with sweet tea that relieves the throat.

"You fell from a decent height, got a knife stab too, but your condition is still very excellent. I'm sure you're not an ordinary person."

Bayu slowed the chewing of fried bananas in his mouth. He felt that Bara was beginning to suspect him.

"The scars on your body are also numerous. I know, some of it was gunshot scars. It seems like this is not the first time you have faced danger."

"Who are you really?" asked Bara with a serious facial expression.

"I'm a werewolf."

He was silent for a moment. Bayu's way of talking looks convincing. But, this is not a fantasy fiction story, there can't be such a thing in this world.

"Haha.... Do you want to joke early in the morning? If it's true werewolf, I should have seen you change shape at full moon."

"I'm a security guard" Bayu replied.

"Overnight it's my duty to escort the shipment of logs."

"You also know, people like me are needed by entrepreneurs, because in the course of shipping or transporting goods, there are many criminals who block the road."

"I'm a trained person for that."

"Oh, you deserve to have a gun. Civilians are forbidden to have weapons."

"If we don't use weapons, what should we fight them with? Should they shoot?"

"The number of police in this country is still very small, please be advised we must be able to protect ourselves."

"Are you going to arrest me for using an illegal weapon?"

Bara felt insinuated with the words Bayu. His words were indeed true, but it made his ears hot as well.

"Unfortunately I wasn't assigned to it."

"But next time we meet again, be careful. I'm gonna arrest you. Don't mess with guns anymore, okay?"

Bayu just smiled at Bara's words. He wanted to see who was more clever between himself and Bara. Will he really be able to catch her someday.

"Are you just assigned yourself here?"

"No, the five of us are here. The doctor who handled you was one of them. Then there are others disguised as merchants, peasants, and teachers."

"Then the results?"

"For over a year I've been here, no one seems to support them. It was just that they were forced to remain silent for fear of threats."

"People prefer to live peacefully under the government of this country rather than want to be independent as they often echoed. Strange, it's actually whose voice they represent while the public itself is caught off guard by their deeds."

"Especially they like to force the citizens who have sons to join them, be indoctrinated, and trained militarily."

"If I manage to uncover the source of their funding and weaponry, I believe I can crush them to their roots."

"For a year here what have you got?"

"Ah, my position in their lowest group, there is no information that has been obtained other than the point that became their hiding center."

"If they find out you're a spy, you'll die. Aren't you scared?"

Bara let out a chuckle, "If I was afraid to die in the first place, there's no way I could join this country's police force."

"What about your family in City J?"

"They've been very supportive of my career."

"So they're not afraid that you'll die on duty? Go home with only a name?"

"Haha.... Are we not always between life and death? Every living thing will surely die, only the time and way of death are different. My father said, if I had died on duty, at least my death would not have been a waste."

"Oh, is your dad a cop too?"

"Yes, he's a wakapolda in City J." Bara said that while smiling.

Bara deserves to be very confident and brave. His father was not an indiscriminate man, but a general. Once he sent his son to an area prone to conflict and rebellion.

"How old are you?"

"Huh? Does that matter? Bara frowned.

"I just want to know."

"The next month I'm 27 years old."

"Have married?"

"Yet.... You want to match me up with someone?"

"No, I just wish you could always be safe."

"Beware, crushing groups like them is not as easy as the theory you learn while studying in the police. There are usually a lot of powerful people and have interests behind them. It is not uncommon to involve the police officers themselves."

"Thank you for the advice. You're like my senior here." Bara was speechless, hearing Bayu's words that seemed to understand him better.

"Do you have an unused cell phone?"

"There's.... "

"Can I borrow it? I need to call someone to pick me up."

"Are you sure you'll be home from here soon? How about waiting until your wound recovers? I'm actually glad I have a talkative friend like you."

"I have a wife I've left a week. Looks like she'll cry if I leave her longer."

Bayu's mind immediately glared far away thinking of his wife who was at home. He must have been worried about her, scolding Alex for not telling her whereabouts.

"It's a phone I haven't used in a long time."

Suddenly Bara was out handing him a cell phone. Bayu doesn't even know when Bara entered the house.

"You can have it. Go up that hill over there to get the signal." Bara pointed at a hill not far from his house.

"If you are not strong enough to climb it, wait until your wound is healed first, do not force yourself. Something forced is not good."
