Chapter 2: The Vivid

[Welcome to Vivid]

The notice immediately catches Assuja's ear as soon as he enters Vivid, the game Charista points to. One of the most popular games right now, but what made him agree was certainly not because of that, but because Vivid could reach the highest level of sensory reality.

It was not because Assuja was really interested in Vivid, it was only because Charista kept raving about a lot of things related to Vivid to make him completely sure. Moreover, he had heard some people talk about the experience of playing Vivid on the road.

And he had asked half-jokingly to Charista about why this game was called Vivid, as if it was a romance game that was only answered by a throw from Charista.

Makes her think back to the sleeping glasses that Cha threw— which turned out to be a tool for Full-Dive VR. And even the tool itself does not lose the original function of its design because it is completely comfortable to wear.

Thinking that it was quite absurd. Assuja immediately heard another notice but ...

[New face seen.]

... He immediately turned towards the direction the sound was coming from, the clear sound was a form of system notification, the sound of a figure in front of him.

The figure with long white hair decomposed under a circle-shaped halo that was actually somehow made up of how many facets floated gently. A few thin threads of light could be seen flashing from mantel— or maybe his body was headed somewhere the thread would end up, a clean white coat wrapped in a white shirt anyway. He, that figure is really appropriate to be called as a spotless existence, because only the white color is bandaging it from head to toe.

He propped his head with his left hand, looking at Assuja for a moment before closing his eyes silently and opening his mouth ...

[Do you want to start immediately?]

... raised a notice before Assuja's eyes, making him suspect that the figure was some kind of early guider? However, because of the oddity of the guider, he managed to make Assuja nod in surprise as well as confused.

[Character creation begins]

The figure replied in a mechanical manner, but it was not the same as his bored-sounding tone in Assuja's ears. However, even before he could think further a paper flew towards him, showing a portrait of a man, himself, or more precisely his character.

[You can change your appearance by ..].

The voice went on, reading out some hints of ways to change the character. Although what Assuja does is pass all possible steps and will immediately return the paper. He did not change his appearance at all.

[Are you sure you won't change your appearance?]

Ask that figure.

[You won't be able to change your appearance once it's decided except by some special method]

Assuja sees a portrait of the character on the paper in his hand. A young man with somewhat long reddish-brown hair clad in simple clothes, the perfect portrait of him would be imitation. Since there was no choice for any other race from the beginning other than humans, he really did not want to change anything.

"I'm sure" replied Assuja.

[Consense form confirmed]

[Towards steps of Sela—]

"Wait a minute" Assuja quickly cut. "Can you open the advanced settings?"

The figure's eyes opened, staring at Assuja for a moment before throwing some other paper gently flying before stopping in front of Assuja.

Without further ado, Assuja instantly picks up the paper that is the setting sheet for sensitivity levels and maximizes all types of options available. Much busier than what he did on his appearance sheet that was only given the wanted shoulder, was passed just like that.

Smell, taste, touch .. all kinds of sub categories that exist from these three senses —including pain— Assuja maximize without hesitation. Since the other two senses (sight and hearing) don't really have a meaningful arrangement, he'll just let it stay as it is.

"Done," Assuja said as he handed the arrangement sheet back to the figure in front of him.

[Are you sure of this arrangement?]

Another confirmation question came and Assuja nodded with certainty. And ...

[Warning!]

... The answer immediately came from that figure.

[With this level of sensitivity regulation now some problems that can affect the real body are possible. Are you sure you want to continue?]

He greeted with a tone that no longer sounded like a bored person in Assuja's ears. As if to show how important this matter is.

"I'm sure." Even so Assuja was not moved in the slightest, only clarifying his options. However he plays Vivid to know one thing, to know death, how the door of death forms.

And soon another paper immediately flew towards Assuja. Taking the piece of paper, he read it quickly and immediately put the signature on the paper. An official affidavit stating that all problems that may arise and/or befall him are not directly related to Vivid but rather derived purely from his personal choice.

After handing the letter to the figure in front of him. The figure says ...

[Towards the next step]

Several pillars of light immediately rose around Assuja as soon as the notification was completed, forming several types of weapons that danced within those pillars of light.

The Light Sword (Light Sword).

Katanas.

Spear (Lance).

Crescent (Scythe).

Boxing Gloves (Knuckle).

Dagger (Dagger).

Bow (Bow).

Grimores.

The Shield (Shield).

In total 9 types of weapons from the 14 weapons contained in Vivid, excluding the Great Sword (Great Sword), Magic Stick (Staff), Rifle (Gun), and Magic Device (Magic Device).

With Vivid having no class system, players could learn all kinds of skills in the existing Skill Tree even though being able to use it was a compatibility issue with the main weapon. Especially where all the basic stat (Strength, Intelligent, Agility, Dexterity, Vitality, and Special) does not add attack power innately.

Strength will only increase the normal attack power and the amount of stamina.

Intelligent will increase the attack power of skill, mana count, and magic defense.

Agility will increase the attack speed and basic motion speed.

Dexterity will increase cast speed and attack stability.

And Vitality certainly increases the amount of health and defense.

While the last stat, Special is still not much known about what the stat functions.

Many players on the forums suspect that each statistic improves three aspects as in the case of Intelligent, but they have not been able to confirm what aspect it is since the description in Vivid itself is minimal.

For the power of the attack itself, both physically and magic will increase depending on the type of weapon worn. For example, Strength stats would increase a character's physical attack power if using a light sword, but the same did not happen when using a katana.

With all that in mind, the selection of the main weapon becomes a crucial point, this is a crucial point in Vivid.

That was what a normal person would think but what was in Assuja's head was something else. He did think this was a crucial point, it was just that he was thinking about which weapon could make him feel the various forms of death ....

"Grimore." Assuja. "I'll choose the grimore as the starting weapon" he continued.

[Are you sure of your choice?]

"Of course." Assuja answered as if she herself had also been bored by this kind of confirmation question.

Vivid does not have a system where the player can be injured by his own attacks. Assuja also knew this however, he thought that the same would not apply as long as it was not a direct attack.

For example if a player burns a tree with a skill, that player will not be injured because it is the effect of his skill, the effect of his attack. However, will the player remain protected from these effects after the system calculates that the duration of the skill is complete and somehow the tree is still burning?

Assuja felt that it would not happen, and the skill most likely to reach such a case in his mind was a magic-type skill. Makes Assuja choose a grimore, a weapon that is clearly focused for magic attacks since he never knows what conditions to make a case in his view possible.

[Optional confirmed]

[Who are you?]

"Akuji," Assuja said of the name she was going to use but she wasn't done yet. "And you're alone?" the reply to that figure.

The figure of the guider is not like the figure of a guider or just an A.I system that manages notifications, and he himself does not try to interact or even introduce himself. Makes Assuja randomly ask about the name of the figure in front of him.

[Vivid ..]

Answer, or just another notification line coming from the figure ...

[... May you swim in my world, Akuji]

... Together with Assuja's body that began to disappear.
