Ascyaf O Vivid: The VRMMORPG Story
Chapter 16: Wild Cats

Yaka's great sword trembled, along with the flames that accompanied it. Unable to break through the hard skin of the monster in front of him.

"Damn!" yaka shouted furiously.

What had happened all this time had met his expectations.

He may have strong financial resources, but he also knows that something of that sort cannot be the real root in Vivid. He knew that he needed a guild to be able to keep growing. And at the time that the top guilds opened their doors wide, like other players, Yaka was trying to make a name for himself so that the guilds would not just glance at him, but wanted him.

Amidst the deadlock he experienced on how to improve his name, Vera, a virtual streamer that almost everyone knows by chance started in Leszl City. With Vera intending to form a party in her stream activities, Yaka realizes that this is the path the world has given him.

He did not need to lower his degrees to those people, to the masses who were trying hard to put together their names since the camera would be highlighted to him.

That is why he came forward confidently saying that the last person Vera would choose was himself. Yaka ignored all the players who were just side characters —a mob— in his eyes since he knew that they would not be able to make trouble for him.

And as Yaka hoped, that's what happened.

Yaka rejected Vera's suggestion at the beginning, where they would only play casually in fighting the weak monsters around the city since such a thing would not be able to make her show how great she was. That was why he chose to take the goblin extermination quest.

And as Yaka hoped, the masses obeyed his will.

Even so, he remained dissatisfied. The goblins he encountered were too weak. How could he show his prowess if it was like that? That's why he only went deeper into the forest, where the level of the monsters would increase, showing how great he really was up to—

"Basic fucking cat!"

He met the monster he was facing right now. The monster itself did not look special, as Yaka said, it was just a cat.

True, even if the cat's body could be said to be gigantic since it almost equaled the height of a tree, he could not be said to be anything more if one were to look at its appearance. Let alone something like a tiger, with his fat body, people will only remember a lazy cat who looks always sleeping around the corner at home, since he is only a cat.

However, what Yaka feels is not something a cat lover would feel. He was only angry, since his attack could not even inflict any meaningful injuries to that 'lazy cat.

"YIMAAAA!" The cat shouted, making his thick fur stand upright as if a needle and attacked Yaka with its furious claws.

Even if the mass of the one party with her tried to help, Yaka knew it would be useless since their level difference was too far from the result of her assessment.

[Wildnight Cat - Level 38

Health: 98%]

Seeing this result, Yaka knew that he was actually facing a troublesome opponent.

The scoring system in Vivid has really become a headache material for most players.

Since they would not know one's identity before they introduced themselves and to the monsters themselves, it only showed the name of how the inhabitants called them. So if the player does not know what it is, in most cases the name of the monster that appears is a question mark.

With that type of system, it clearly shows that it is the player's judgment that will take on a bigger role. How much is the true value of the target's health? Or who is the real target? Was he a common type of monster or a boss monster?

That was the reason why Akuji did not know that the goblins he fought were unique monsters, although his lack of knowledge of Vivid also played a role. And ...

'This wild cat must be the boss monster.'

... In this case, Yaka was able to estimate what kind of monster he was fighting well.

With all the equipment he had, Yaka knew how much damage he could inflict. It was not something that could be held back easily even by ordinary monsters of a higher level than him. But, in the face of boss monsters, such a thing would not happen even if the level was lower.

The biggest difference from boss monsters and normal monsters, aside from the amount of their health, boss monsters also had more skills and certainly a better level of intelligence than common monsters.

"Sideway Slash!" yaka shouted, brushing away the sharp claws that were heading towards him as he moved.

Yaka clicked his tongue, slightly regretting having used this skill but trying to think positively because he knew what might happen if he did not use it. The durability of his weapon might be destroyed.

Even if it was nothing much, the durability of the weapon would be better protected when players used the skill. Was it because the skill effect that enveloped the weapon became a kind of protection system? Yaka never thought about it from the beginning especially sharp claws cat immediately after him again.

Since the absence of a tanker in their party, the cat's attention is clearly on the one who deals the greatest damage to her, Yaka. Even if the other members were not just silent and watching, their attacks might only be limited to a sharp itch in the cat's ears since the entire attack did not pose much of a threat to him, either, especially beyond what Yaka can do.

'Do I have to run?' Yaka thought for a moment before feeling disgusted at such thoughts.

Hadn't he been humbling himself a little with these people so that the guilds could see his prowess? Then now he just wants to run away when facing this stray cat?

'Heh, that would never happen to me.' Yaka scoffs. 'If I run, don't I just go down to the same level as those losers?' before a great idea came to mind.

'Why don't I just try to drop this wild piss?'

If he did that, wouldn't others think that he was so great? Even if he failed, as long as one looked at the wonderful techniques he could create wouldn't it be the same thing?

Yaka smiled after making this kind of resolution. Seeing the lucky side characters become members of his party before his gaze came to a halt on Vera. Since he's the key to all this, the cameraman will be recording all his great actions.

Other than Vera, all those side characters were insignificant in his eyes. Like how a story of heroism rolls, they, the masses who become side characters that will only open the way to the hero. Herself.

Yaka went ahead and unleashed Triple Slash. His sword slashed wildly as Yaka who was accelerated by the effect of the skill pushed forward before immediately cancelling it with Cut Spell halfway through, switching to another skill, Sideway Slash to dodge the cat's paws ...

"Brother, attack the cat."

... And give his absolute orders.
