Chapter 19: The Red Elves

“Come go.” Pull Nuk, awakening Vera from the surprise that Akuji gave her as she led Vera away from the cat's gaze.

Why is the cat targeting Akuji more than Nuk or Vera? Simply put, it was because he felt that the two of them were no more dangerous than Akuji. Akuji's movements may not be much in sight but, the cat's attention is immediately turned to him once Yaka dies explaining everything.

Since their party does not have a tanker, Nuk knows that it has a simple meaning. The damage Akuji dealt was more than enough to get his aggression in second place, defeating the interference of the two men.

Seeing Akuji madly running towards the cat, he wondered just how much the level of the young man had actually been since he had hidden it. It was not that Nuk was not at all surprised by Akuji's action of taking the two out, he could only quickly find the answer through Akuji's first question.

By getting them out of the party, even if Akuji dies the cat's attention won't be directed directly at them. And with them themselves having the aggro of the cat for having attacked it, the cat itself will still be looking for them and in this section the Playing Dead comes in handy.

Turning his attention to Akuji, Nuk wonders if the young man can survive due to his mixed equipment. His level could not have been too high and so had his health since the damage he was given was very steep.

“What is he a glass cannon type player?” muttered Nuk, feeling that he was right even though he could not rationalize Akuji's actions. Isn't hiding better for measuring time? Or ...

“... He just wants to die?” Nuk wonders, seeing the cat's paw swinging towards Akuji before he disappears.

Did he just die? Nuk was unsure for a moment since no bodies were lying there before Akuji immediately appeared elsewhere.

Back Step! The movement skill of the Assassin Skill Tree!

‘Isn't that a Tier 2 skill?!’ Nuk's eyes widened.

Not waiting for the shock received by the person who saw it receding, Akuji started casting the Elemental Arrow as soon as he saw the cat was confused.

Shut!

And the magic arrow shot, giving off more sparkles since the Back Step — effect strengthened one attack the next after the skill was activated— hit the cat and managed to make him meow furiously.

Ever since Akuji had opened access to the Assassin Skill Tree, he had been conducting a simple quest and felt very grateful to Blaise.

What is assassin? They were assassins and practically their skill tree had a set of orientations to maximize attack power. Making Akuji immediately learn those skills, although limited to buff and support type skills since magic is still the only way he believes.

And his choice had been proven, his attack power rising enough to make him confident he could burn himself one day. And that wildcat reaction only made her look even more cute in Akuji's eyes. How could he not think that the cat that would become the angel of the taking of life for him was not cute?

Seeing that the cat was about to attack him again, Akuji only responded lightly.

“Assassin Stab,” he said, activating a skill that instantly made an attack that stabbed the cat in the face.

If a skill like the Elemental Arrow would change depending on the element that the skill had like the Fire Arrow if it was the fire element, then the Assassin Stab would also be like that. Only, the direction of the attack determines it, making this skill has variations such as Front Stab, Side Stab, and finally Back Stab which gives the highest damage.

The strength of the Front Stab itself was the weakest but Akuji did not care, he was more interested in how could he even carry out a stabbing attack on the cat without even possessing a sharp weapon? After all, that was what was called the power effect skill!

Akuji laughed lightly at how the cat reacted before retreating with Evasion and Swift Run combined. Like a cat owner who is teasing his pet.

Until finally the cat jumped up, trying to pounce on Akuji while he just stretched his arms as if he wanted to hug the cat's body. After all, he had taken out all the skills he had and had no intention of taking down the cat, even wasn't it impossible from the start?

If the cat's body was small enough, the necessitating moment would probably be visible but it wasn't since the cat's jump that it would just destroy Akuji's body.

While he just kept smiling loosely ....

Thank goodness!

What is the reason behind Akuji creating a situation where Nuk and Vera can escape safely? Let them focus only on saving himself, and most importantly, it means his death is undisturbed!

Akuji lowered his head only to see a tree root that had wrapped around his feet, he knew bring him once again right. And he doesn't like it.

Bam!

The sound of an explosion appeared as the cat's body landed, finding that the rat that had been bothering him was gone. Looking to the right and to the left, he found nowhere until—

“Explosive Fire.”

The cat's ear lightly grabbed as an arrow approached it, struck and exploded, knocking the cat out of its original position. Shaking his head confused as to where it came from, the cat's eyes began to glow before he could catch a shadow running between the trees, making the cat start chasing after him.

Until a magic circle appears on the ground calling the treant —a living tree monster— appears. It immediately began to snare, blocking the cat's footsteps.

Although the treant was quite powerful, it was no match for the cat since he himself was a boss monster. And of course he was not something that could be handled by a mere summons. By the time he finished dropping the tree, the shadow had disappeared.

Make the cat just walk there and come looking for his previous target before giving up and coming back when he yawns as if bored.

****

While it was ...

“Arsy, put me down.”

“No will.”

“Hey, is kidnapping someone your hobby?” akuji asked in a serious tone looking at the winding of the vines, which must have come from Arsy's call still wrapped around him strongly.

“Be quiet.” Just to get her to get a strong word from Arsy even though it didn't work to make Akuji choose to shut up.

“So why did you kidnap me Arsy?”

Given that their plan of departure was tomorrow, Akuji really felt he had been harassed because his freedom was snatched away. Where is the freedom that should exist?!

“That's all because Master Fuck me.” Arsy spoke after a long sigh, an answer with a forced smile and a clear killing emotion felt in the air.

Isn't the elf usually a nature lover who prefers harmony and doesn't want to shed unnecessary blood?

Akuji tried to remember the general setting of an elf when he saw Arsy, the elf in front of him who had absolutely no relation to such a thesis. Arsy is more like an assassin who has been guaranteed a long life.

“Elf red,” hela Akuji answered Arsy's sharp red gaze.
