Refusal

Alvin stopped his bike in front of Rili's house. After Rili got off the motorbike, he looked confused at a car that stopped in his yard which was none other than Mr. Iwan's car, his father Alvin.

"Mas, Papa why are you here?" ask Rili. He was already suspicious of this coincidence. Does this have anything to do with Alvin's serious talk on the phone?

Alvin who had come down from his bike and opened the helmet just smiled discordantly. He himself was also surprised by his sudden decision.

Alvin took Rili's hand to get inside the house. "Udah yuk come in first."

After entering the house, not only Mr. Iwan and Bu Gita as Alvin's parents but also there is Alvin's sister with her husband who sits in the living room of Rili's house.

This made Rili wonder.

"Here, they're home. Sit down first."

Rili walked up to her Mama then sat down beside her. "What's Mi doing?" ask Rili to her Mom.

Alvin just looked down. He already had a bad feeling today.

"As per my chat with Mr. Rizal yesterday." Mr. Iwan began his conversation.

"Pak Iwan immediately responded to the situation."

"Obviously Sir. Let's go straight to the set, like you said yesterday." Both fathers laughed.

Alvin looked at Rili. He knew Rili was wondering in his heart.

"Even I just told Alvin myself." Mr. Iwan patted the shoulder of Alvin sitting next to him. "You Papa was looking for a cafe, but it was in Rili's place."

"But Pa, why don't you ask me what I think about this first" Alvin whispered to his father.

"Too long."

Rili was trapped in this situation. He can guess what will happen.

"We went to Mr. Rizal's house, intending to formally propose to my daughter Alvin."

That sentence made Rili's chest flutter. He's not ready for this.

"Yes, their relationship was long established. No need to procrastinate anymore. We can just determine the date of their wedding," replied Mr. Rizal in response to a proposal from Mr. Iwan.

Rili stared at her Papi. "Pi, why don't you ask Rili's opinion first." Rili lowered her voice while nudging her Papi's arm to look at her.

"You must have accepted Alvin's proposal, right?" Papi Rizal lowered his voice while talking to his daughter.

"Not now Pi, Rili's not ready yet."

"Rili, what else do you think?"

Rili took a long breath. He had a mouth of course he could reject the proposal himself. "Hmm, sorry. I'm really sorry. I'm not ready to accept this proposal, let alone get married any time soon."

Rili's decision succeeded in making all eyes on Rili including Alvin. Although Alvin already knew what Rili's answer was, but still the disappointment was a little stop in his heart.

"Rili, why?" ask Mami Lisa. "You don't think about anything else, think about your happiness first."

"So Rili had to be selfish, thinking only of Rili's feelings."

"No, not like that. If you want to accept Alvin's proposal, you've already accepted don't be burdened with other things."

"I'm sorry excuse me." Rili stood up and walked away. He went upstairs to his room.

Alvin just let out a long sigh, plus a whisper from his mother that expressed disappointment further riled his heart.

"I'm sorry for my daughter's decision. I ask for Mr. Iwan's time. It seems like Rili is still thinking about Rasya's feelings. Let me talk about this with them."

"Loh, we'll have dinner first."

"Next time, Mom. I'm sorry, maybe next time we prepare this plan all right so there's no more misunderstandings like this." Mr. Iwan tried to reduce his wife's disappointment so as not to be too obvious.

"Yes already. We go home first." They shook hands with both of Rili's parents.

Alvin actually still wants to talk to Rili. There was still something stuck in his heart if he did not immediately resolve this matter.

"Alvin, let's go home."

"I want to talk to Rili first, Ma."

"No need. Let's just go home!" Ms. Gita pulled Alvin up a little.

Not wanting to argue, Alvin finally said goodbye.

After they all go home, Lisa intends to meet her daughter.

"Darling, why are you doing this?" asked Mami Lisa while clutching Rili's shoulder.

"Rili is still not the same Kak Rasya."

"Don't think about it. Rasya must be happy to see you happy."

"But still Mi, in Rasya's heart there must be sadness."

Mami Lisa grabs Rili in her arms. "Iya Mami knows, you are very sorry for Rasya. Mommy is also glad you love each other. But think again, baby. You're gonna want to be with Alvin, right?"

Rili nodded slowly.

"Yes already." Mami Lisa took off her embrace. "You take a shower, and then you eat. Mom wait downstairs." Mami Lisa rubbed the top of Rili's head for a moment and came out of Rili's room.

Rili took her phone and opened her chat screen with Alvin.

Rili didn't know what to type anymore. Only an apology was sent, whether Alvin would reply or not.
